We had interviewed several contractors prior to meeting Ralph and from the moment he walked through the door we knew we'd hire him. After carefully listening to us, he made recommendations and explained what he would do and the order in which the project would evolve. He inspired confidence, was reassuring and kind and was in contact with us at least once a day to discuss the progress. We bought a fifty year old ranch style house that needed extensive renovation which had a few hidden surprises that our engineer overlooked prior to closing. Ralph helped us through and often went out of his way to support us. He was always there to take care of the matter even if it was a weekend or holiday and never let us down! This was a first time endeavor for me and I was grateful that Ralph had a fine and experienced team. He is an experienced professional, a wonderful person and someone I could recommend in a heartbeat!

The tech came out today and I was looking for fireplace tune ups. He said that he doesn't do tune-ups and that the deal was incorrect. He was polite and professional.

I recently bought a house with a fireplace ( first time having a fireplace)and was recommended to have it cleaned and inspected by both the previous owner, and my Home Inspector ( who recommended a Class 4 Video Inspection for $ 400.00 ), before I tried to use it since it had not been used in a few years. Some prices for an inspection were very high, and then I saw the Deal on Angie's List so I gave it a try. As I expected, from what the previous owner of the house told me, there should be nothing wrong , but just get it cleaned and inspected first. Pro Clean showed up time and told me what I had suspected. Did a cleaning, took only 20 minutes, and I asked about the inspection, he said everything looks good. Just make sure that you clean the flue and chimney every year either before or after the season if I use it.
Only problem was, when he finished brushing the fireplace, he brought in a Shop Vac to collect the dust and any soot. When he plugged it in and turned it on , some dust from the previous job shot out of the exhaust port on the Vac. He quickly put the suction hose to the exhaust to capture the dust, but it was already too late.
If they come to your house, make sure you have them plug in and start the Vac OUTSIDE FIRST , to blow out any residual dust from a previous job that may have become shaken up during the drive in the back of his truck.
Other than that I would use them again.
Both the phone staff and the tech were courteous and responsive to my needs and questions. They did not try to up-sell me which I was wary of.

I am doing a conversion from wood burning to propane fireplace. I wanted a vent fireplace so I can keep it on all the time. You cannot keep a ventless on all the time and there are also moisture issues. When I walked in I met a salesman named Lou who wasn't picking up on what I wanted. I made it clear that I wanted to use this all the time and it would supplement my heating needs He showed me a fireplace insert and the job would have been $6,000.00 or more. When I wanted to see the vented fireplaces he kept taking me to the ventless saying, it's either the insert of the ventless fireplaces. Totally avoiding what I wanted as if it weren't even an option. I even asked as to why I could get a certain fireplace that I was showed that was ventless and he said it was for new fireplaces, in which they build mantles and such. When were were getting turned off by his sales tactics he just walked away when a new customer came in. Even another salesman saw what was going on and was trying to address me and said goodbye and if we came back he would take care of what we wanted. We left and went to Fireplaces of America and was taken care of they way I would have expected.
