  • Never finished job, had to call another contractor to finish job, correct poor workmanship. Had to have brand new bathroom tile torn up and replaced. had to re-do gutters on house. Had to tear up new hardwood flooring in several rooms and replace due to incorrect installation. New house had a roof leak due to faulty chimney installation.

  • Contractor was very hard to reach. Did not respond to text messages or email messages. My first call he did not return call as promised. Second call resulted in scheduling of the appointment. On the day of the appointment when I called two hours after his scheduled arrival time he cancelled the appointment because he said that he had lost my contact information. Very apologetic. He then called and we rescheduled and he showed up on time and performed the work as agreed.

  • To put it in 1 word: PERFECT.

I'm admittedly picky when it comes to work done on my custom home, and hold all contractors to a very high standard.  Danley Electrical's performance was perfect, and managed to meet or exceed my high standards.

Walter Danley, the owner, came to provide an estimate himself.  He immediately struck me as a professional in every regard: he was patient in explaining my options, and expertly answered all my questions while presenting information I needed to make a decision in an easy to understand manner.

I chose a 22 kW Generac Whole House generator with load shedding features to power the entire house in the event of an outage.  I had specific criteria in how I wanted the outside gas & electrical connections routed, and Walter devised a solution that would meet my somewhat unconventional specifications.  He was neither pushy nor aggressive, and did not expect a purchasing decision on-the-spot as some other contractors did.  He sent me a written proposal via email promptly, and worked with me to revise the proposal a few times without complaint so that I would be content with the written statement of work.

In the weeks that followed I met with other contractors and compared their bids.  Walter's proposal was not only the best in price, but also in value.  That I already admired his professionalism from our meeting made the choice clear in my mind that Walter Danley's company would win the bid.  I became busy with the trials of life, family and business and failed to contact Walter to award him the project.  Though I had forgotten to "seal the deal" his officer did not.  He followed-up with me (as one would expect from a professional to do) to inquire if I had any further questions they could answer in order to make my purchasing decision.

Once I signed the contract and made a nominal deposit, his office handled the necessary communications with my gas company to ensure my lines would support the generator.  They obtained the permit, and as soon as I sent them a copy of my survey (which they called my town to prepare for me to simply pickup) they did all the background tasks necessary to schedule the job with me.  As we approached the scheduled date, they called to confirm our installation and let me know what to expect once the started work.

Their installers arrived as promised.  A 5-man team skilfully completed their tasks that day and each of his employees showed the same professionalism and proficiency in their tasks as Walter himself.  They were respectful of my home, careful in their work, and tireless in their diligence to complete their tasks.  You could tell they enjoyed their jobs and were happy as they worked.  You can't fake that type of dedication!

Though we had a few unavoidable surprises (such as a surprisingly high amount of rebar embedded in my concrete foundation) the crew expertly resolved all the job-site challenges without skipping a beat.  I asked to be involved in the installation decisions so that I could ensure minimum disturbance to my home and maintain the most "hidden" installation mode possible so that as little was visible as possible.  As a result, they called me over to review precisely where the generator would rest outside, locations where they wanted to drill into the foundation for the service line runs, and exactly how the lines would come up from underground into the generator (yes, I'm that picky).  It was evident that they understood my concerns and respected by specifications as I approved their recommendations without any edits.

The project was completed on-time, on-budget, and passed all inspections the first time.  Within 2 days of starting the project, they were able to run a test of the generator by simulating an outage and fully complete the installation.  One of the electricians then spent the time to review features of the transfer switch, followed by a trip outside to walk me through the menu settings, options, and even how to change the oil (I can still remember that my generator requires 1.9 quarts of full synthetic 5W30) in the event that I might want to do it myself.  Finally, service contract options were also presented with no pressure to sign-up (though I did chose to do so).

I was entirely please with every aspect of Walter Danley's operation, and could not have asked more of him or his employees.  In my experience with other contractors, I always thought my standards were high.  Walter Danley's performance made it clear that his standards were just as high, if not higher.

I am entirely pleased with Walter, his team, and their work product.  I would eagerly recommend them to anyone.

  • .The panel cover already had 6 breaker knockouts taken out so I ended up with a big hole in the cover and the cover was bent leading me to believe it might be a return.
He said he would drop off the parts to fix it. Well I had to call to remind him and then they gave me parts for a different panel. I called a total of 3 times with no results still don't have the parts.

  • I purchased the two hour $99 big deal from Angie's list to troubleshoot
an outdoor GFI outlet and a flood light. Andrew from Paps Electric
showed up on time and was very professional and courteous. He was very
methodical in troubleshooting the problem given the wiring was old and
not straight forward. . He also found another indoor outlet that is not
working and fixed it. He rewired two junction boxes that were not done
properly in the past before I bought the house. Now my backyard flood
light is working as well as the two outlets. I am very pleased with the
service and will definitely use Paps services in the future.

  • We've had work done by Wil for the last 14 years. He's thorough and prompt, helps give options on a project to make sure we do what we need to do, and finds parts/accessories swiftly.
He's very personable and trustworthy too!

  • It looks like it was a scouting visit from their perspective for identifying future work. I found it a little bit odd the way that worked out. They have given me some quotes for work they thing should be done in my property. Overall, I’m not happy. I was expecting that they’ll give me a report as to this is good and this is not but basically all I got was they gave me a list of what I should fix.

  • Initial call 4/19/13 Appointment made for 4/22/13 - No Show No Call. Came by 4/23 w> apology. Needed outside lighting re-done. Looked at entire yard. Made NO Notes - gave me NO business card. Said would drop off a fixture catalog in a couple of days. I called him 4/25 to see if he had created a labor estimate - was told by a woman that he would get back to me but a catalog was going to be dropped off on Wed. 5/1. He dropped off the catalog on 5/1 but no estimate. Friday 5/3 I called and left a message that I picked out all the lights and if he could call me to discuss. Week later 5/10 a message was left on my phone from their office asking if i had chose any lights yet. I did not call them back. Felt this was an attempt by them to smooth over the fact that they waited so long to call back. It is now 5/22 Not Very Professional... Needless to say. They have not called back. So much for supporting your local businesses.

  • He was local. He was personable and thorough. We needed a light switch in the closet, but the way it had been done he had it look like it needed extra support. He did everything we asked him to do even though some of the things were small. His price seemed like a lot, but he had to do some extra stuff for what he was doing.

  • He came the same day we called. Within two days he was back to do the work. He was very thurough and did the work in one day. He was here for several hours, but it was all finished. He was very prompt and professional. He cleaned up after himself.
