    Basic Basement Co
If you are looking to finish the basement, do yourself a favor and look no further. Basic Basement is absolutely amazing! They can do much more then basic. If you know what you want, they can get it done. They have a fantastic crew who are very professional and friendly! You will know this, the moment you engage with them. You can see, they genuinely want to do a great job! Whether they are engaging their own crew or other contractors, rest assured, you get the best! The work done is perfect! Jerry the design and sales consultant worked with us patiently to come up with best possible layout and plan of work for the basement based on our budget. Everything you read in the reviews about the project manager Gail is true! She is absolutely wonderful and extremely efficient! She works with you and schedules everything perfectly so that there is no wasting of time! The on-site project manager Bob is very responsive. The day we met him we got confidence that we are in good hands with the work. It was absolutely a worry free experience for us getting our basement finished with Basic Basement!

    Magnolia Home Remodeling Group
We anticipated that a complete to the studs bathroom rennovation would be a difficult process, but working with Magnolia made it far easier than we anticipated. The quality of work from demo to rebuild including carpentry, tile work, plumbing and electrical was first rate. The owner was readily available to answer questions, address concerns and resolve any problems that came up via text, phone or email. Communication was excellent. Magnolia did a great job scheduling its team and working with the township to acquire permits and ensure that town inspections were scheduled as quickly as possible to keep the project moving along and on schedule. Magnolia was also flexible in working with us to address condominium association rules with respect to debris removal. Overall it could not have gone better and we could not be happier with the new bathroom

Carpet & Flooring Centers of NJ Inc
Sue is a professional and is very courteous. After showing all the color shades for the flooring, she took the extra effort to highlight how each color will go with the room and thanks to her that we were able to make the best decision. She was very honest and her suggestions and advice were great. The installer Joe did a great job and his workmanship is immaculate.
We were surprised to find a thin layer of wood between the carpet and the concrete in this room but Sue was courteous to not charge us extra for the removal

Statewide Home Improvement & Maintenance LLC
Juan Marin and his crew of craftsmen and the outside tradesmen to whom he sub-contracts specialized parts of jobs are professional and talented - and so easy to work with, and friendly!  Anything we needed to have done he had someone who could do the job. The biggest project of the work done over a seven week period between mid-December and early February (time off around the Christmas holidays) was the finished basement.  We had to wait for permits to be granted/approved for the work to be complete in the basement, but Juan worked around those issues efficiently, filling in time doing some other smaller projects in other rooms of the house (installing a new utility sink in the laundry room, new sink and toilet in the powder room, new faucets, grouting tile, fixing leaks and drips and running toilets, getting some electrical recessed lights working and up to code, etc.) and working on other projects in other locations to maximize efficiency.
The basement was stripped to the studs and sheet rocked with new up-to-code recessed lighting and many outlets. Juan got us a great price on a new furnace with an outside contractor, American Home Service, reviewed elsewhere on Angie's List. We also had Statewide install a new gas water heater.  A ceramic tile floor was laid in the basement and the walls were painted and trimmed, the furnace and storage room were painted (cinder block walls and cement floor), the stairs sanded and stained, the landing on the stairs refurbished with a laminate to match the steps, the railings stained and hung and a safety feature installed to satisfy building codes for our township.  We had them take down a non-load bearing wall to open up the stairway to the basement and it needed an "11th hour" adjustment to pass inspection - Juan came right back out with materials and a helper the day after the work was completed to install the safety rails so that we would pass inspection and could put the house up for sale.  That's standing behind your work, and it was really appreciated because we were leaving for our new home in NC the next day!  The next morning the house was up for sale and the first showing was to a couple who said that "it may be the LAST showing".  Five hours later they offered our FULL asking price for the home.  We closed the deal at mile marker 181 on I-81 in Virginia that afternoon.  We truly believe that the work Statewide did on the basement and elsewhere in the house helped this to happen. The basement is beautiful and everything else that Juan and the crew did was excellent and it really helped to sell our home.  (Note: the price shown is for labor and all materials associated with the basement project and some other items for upstairs; along the way we made many runs to Lowe's for some of the other items installed in other rooms of the house, like the laundry room and powder room items - toilet, sinks, hardware, garbage disposal, etc. - those items aren't included in the price for Statewide)

We took the home depot service for doing this carpet install on 2nd floor and hardwood install on 1st floor. Below are some of the steps we went through:
    1. Home depot sent measurement company to measure both the 1st and 2nd floor.
    2. We ordered the carpet and hardwood and related materials based on the measurement.
    3. Carpet installation was done first and went smoothly.
    4. The issue started with hardwood installation.
         a. The installation was a 2 day process.
         b. Day one installation went fine.
         c. Day two installation is when the installers found that we were short for 100 SQ ft of hardwood.
         d. Called home depot and they were surprised that we were short and told us that they will order the extra materials and since this was a measurement issue, we will NOT have to pay for the extra materials.
         e. It took a month and a half for materials to arrive and schedule the remaining installation.
         f. Our house was mess in the mean time. We could not entertain family or friends during that time frame.
         g. We got another call from measurement company saying that they will come and measure the 1st floor again.
         h. The measurement company came the same day as the installers.
         i. There were over 2 boxes left from additional materials ordered which home depot picked in december.
    5. The nightmare started a month after the installation was complete.
    6. We got the call from Home Depot out of the blue saying that now we owe them for the materials.
    7. We never got any bill or email regarding the same.
    8. Talked with multiple people at home depot explaining about the situation and every time got the reply saying they will check.
    9. In december spoke with assistant manager and he said they will subtract the remaining amount with returned materials and asked if I was OK with splitting. I agreed so that i could get this closed.
    10. Home depot Edison NJ called and said to pay the half amount. this was half amount with out the deduction of the returned materials. I recalled my conversation with assistant manager and they said will get back as usual.
    11. Today they called and said that I have to pay this amount or they will send to collections department. Basically played the scare tactic on me. I ended up paying the half amount with out the deduction of the returned materials.
It is as if people working in Home depot edison either have lousy systems with no records or don't want to listen.
To summarize, I have wasted easily about 10 hours of my time trying to explain to different person the situation and nobody wants to listen to hardships we had with a toddler in house and with some flooring missing in our 1st floor. All the services were done by home depot and they still managed to create such a big mess. Will NOT go to home depot again. This has really been a lousy experience. I would have been understanding if they knew what they were talking about. The first time they called to collect this balance, they said it was the 10% which if they had looked at the bill would have found to be untrue. Now for the remaining balance when they called, they said they subtracted the returned materials which again was not true. I felt like they were trying to cheat us but gave them the benefit of doubt.
To close this item out I did pay the due amount.

    Carpets & More
From beginning to end this was a great experience. Selecting carpeting can be overwhelming in a huge carpet store. In-home carpet buying companies have a hard sell approach. Large home improvement stores like Home Depot are pretty impersonal. Carpets and More was wonderful. Their total price includes padding, old carpet removal, and furniture moving--no hidden costs. When I walked in. Wes greeted me and asked what I was looking for, asked me what my budget was and then showed me carpeting that fit my needs. He was very knowledgeable and after he'd shown me the carpeting and had taken my name and number, he told me to call if I was interested in proceeding. I told him I already knew I was, so we scheduled a date for him to come out and measure. He was very accommodating and met me at my house on my lunch hour. He brought the samples, did the measuring , and told me to call him when I had decided if I wanted to order the carpet. I ordered the carpet that day. He also told me that there was an online coupon available for $150 off the carpet. The carpet had to be ordered and he said it would take approximately two weeks, but less than a week later, I got a call that carpeting was in. I scheduled an installation date, and I received a call the day before to let me know the window during which I should expect them. It was a horrible rainy day, and about an hour before the end of the time they were scheduled to arrive, I got a call saying that they were running about an hour late. This was fine, but they showed up less than 15 minutes late. They did a great job and a great clean up. I feel that I got a wonderful carpet with a great warranty at an incredibly reasonable price with no surprises and no hidden costs. I also know that if I have any problems, I'll be able to reach Wes easily. This was a totally stress free experience, and I would absolutely recommend Carpets and More to everyone. They sell other home improvement products as well.

    Carpets & More
We got information about tile flooring products from Michael at the East Brunswick store. After deciding on a particular tile pattern, Michael came out to do the measurements. He got back to us with an estimated price, and we set up an installation date. This was a big job, involving removal of previous flooring and underlayment in our kitchen and foyer and replacement with new tiles. The product we used was luxury vinyl tile with grout. Mark was the installer that Michael recommended, and he did the whole job single handed in three days, which is the time frame we were told to expect. He did excellent work, and was prompt and professional. The cost was as estimated, and included all labor, materials, prep work, and removal of our old flooring. We are very happy with the results.

    Carpets & More
Carpets and More did an amazing job in replacing the carpet on my entire second floor. I am extremely happy with their price, courtesy and professionalism. Wes did an amazing job to help us select the right carpet and also give us the best price. He came over for all the measurements. On the day of the installation, Fernando and his team came over in time and started the job. They finished the job in time and cleaned up after themselves. The entire crew was extremely professional.

    Doctor Dustless LLC
Dr. Dustless did an excellent job sanding and refinishing my hardwood floors. They fit me into their schedule right away, while other guys were scheduling me a week or two out. They showed up on time in the morning, explained everything to me and were done by the time I got home from work. The floors look amazing and I feel like I got a competitive price, so I couldn't ask for more.
The only downside, if you can even call it that, was that a little dust did get into the kitchen. But that could be normal with "dustless" sanding, I'm not sure.
And they even made sure the vacuum hose didn't crush my wife's flowers!

    Designer Developments LLC
They are very good. The wood floor cost $1,800 and the tile floor is like $1,200. I liked everything from the estimate all the way down to the installation. The installation was great. They worked fast and the price was fair. I like them and have used them a bunch of times.
