    Vincent John's Construction LLC
Thanks to Vincent and his men, I never experienced the headaches and aggravation usually associated with dealing with contractors. He was very professional always on time, quick and efficient, thorough (no shortcuts), and responsive. Finished the job in 7 days. All my friends were amazed my construction project finished so quickly and smoothly. But most importantly, he followed through even months after 99% of the job was done and had been paid in full. I needed existing tile and carpet flooring removed and have engineered hardwood flooring installed (concrete subfloor), all rooms and doors painted, create a new closet using existing doors, install a bifold door and medicine cabinet, and replace 3 ceiling light fixtures with new ones. Vincent and his men were quick with the demo and thorough with painting and flooring. They removed the doors from their hinges and removed the ceiling light cover of a light fixture I was keeping in order to paint behind it. They even moved some kitchen appliances and cabinet in order to put the new flooring there. (Other contractors when I was getting quotes were planning to start the wood flooring from where it was visible.) I plan to update my kitchen in the future so now I wont be limited by how deep the appliance or cabinet need to be in order to match the old ones. I can go on and on...excellent work! I had trouble getting a T-mould for the transition on my floor. Huge delay from the manufacturer. It had finally arrived after Vincent was long gone. I got in touch with Vincent once it arrived but honestly I wasnt expecting him to return to get this tiny job done because it had been over a month since my construction work ended and its really on me to get all my materials ready for them when theyre there. Thats business and just life in general you never hear back once they got paid. He was busy with other jobs when I reached out but he was able to schedule me in and got it done! Who really comes back after they had been paid in full?! Vincent did. Regarding costs, Vincents quote was accurate, no hidden costs, no surprises. Keep in mind that when getting quotes, most of the quotes are for labor only. Vincents quote included the cost of some materials he planned to use. I definitely recommend going with Vincent for your construction project. Vincent following through is a true testament of his professionalism and him as a person

    Best Carpenters
We hired Best Carpenters to renovate our kitchen (March, 2017), and we were so pleased, we hired them again to renovate two additional bathrooms (July 2017). They did an excellent job on all. The workers were courteous, the office managed any (minimal) issues promptly and to our satisfaction. We are truly loving the results. The projects were completed on time, and within our budget. Thank you, Best Carpenters! Brandon & Caroline Downer

    Jim's Handyman Service LLC
Jim was very honest and informed us the bathroom extractor was functioning properly and there was no need for a new one. The reason for it not working properly was a bee hive he discovered in the vent. He installed the closet door with no issues and quickly. He also did a great job with the kitchen vent and was clean while working (covered the area which he was working on). They were very friendly, honest and even gave us tips for around the home. They were a pleasure to do business with and will definitely hire again.

    Bruce Liberti LLC
Bruce did an amazing job and came through for us in a pinch. We needed the work done quickly. Whereas other contractors estimated 3 to 4 days to complete the project, Bruce estimated 2 days and completed it in 2 days. Whereas other contractors took days to return a phone call for a simple quote or did not return one at all, Bruce responded to all calls. For contractors that did show up to give a quote, Bruce beat them by more than half. And true to his word, the quote we got was the price we paid (it was even a little less!). Bruce was professional throughout, and after talking with him about what we needed done I felt very confident that he had the knowledge and skill to get the job done right. Bruce definitely knows his craft, and I would not hesitate to recommend him or to hire him again.

    Vincent John's Construction LLC
I hired Vincent John's Construction to completely gut and renovate the kitchen and bathroom , install trim around the Windows, new baseboards, refinish hard wood floor, paint entire unit, and build walk-in closet and radiator covers of my coop unit. I cannot speak highly enough about quality of his work, the attention to detail, and overall professionalism of Vincent and his crew.  The ability to text with Vincent and receive immediate response is a huge benefit that you probably would not get with most contractors. I highly recommend Vincent John's Construction for all my renovation needs.

    Magnolia Home Remodeling Group
The job went really well and looks great!    I work in the construction/design trade so I'm very aware how bad a job can go and look.  Of course there were slight issues; no job will ever go completely problem free.  However what separates a good contractor from a bad one is how they deal with the issues or complications when they come up.  Each time something came up on the site that I felt needed to be dealt with I would send a text and Vic would deal with the issue promptly.  They were very good at taking responsibility for their scope of work .  They continued to keep us aware of when something would become an extra cost and how to avoid that.  It was definetly a pleasure and I plan on using them again for the crazy amount of work my money pit requires.
I have a tip to future window buyers, regardless of who you buy them from.  If you have white stopgaps just bite the bullet and cut to size all new ones. It's better to have them all match and its just a nicer look when they are new and match your new windows.

I had 33 windows get  all new wood stop gaps; the material cost $400 + 8 hours of  my time cutting and coping.  (most of the time was running up and down stairs since I couldn't use the saw in the house)  Yes the contractors can salvage most of the stop gaps you currently have in-place but some(most) will break if they are old.  It's just inevitable no matter how delicate they the contractors are. It's better to plan ahead to either include the cost of having Magnolia provide this service or plan for a day before the window installation and cut them yourself.
The alternate way would be to wait to to see what breaks and how many you need to cut.  I did this and let me tell you it  screws with everyone's schedule, yours and theirs. Just do yourself a favor and handle this before installation. This  will only decrease the amount of stress you have to deal with because everything is ready to go for them. They aren't waiting on you, you don't need to be there to tell them which window is done and which still needs to be finished.  It just a win win situation.  Also just to be clear during this whole schedule change fiasco, Magnolia was wonderful about adjusting their schedule to mine.  I just felt bad because they had tried to tell be beforehand, multiple times, that there would be a lot that would break because of how much caulking and paint was on them.  They never once said " I told you so"  which was nice of them.

    Douglas Home Improvements
    Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!
We agreed on work scope, cost, etc over the phone, including a couple of rounds of asking questions about size of unit, how it was installed, etc.  Douglas is readily available and excellent at taking calls or calling back quickly.
Crew showed up on time, put down drop clothes to protect floors, etc, completed installation smartly, cleaned up thoroughly. Crew were pleasant and competent.   All installation details were well attended to and done properly (shims, casing, caulking, etc).   Could not be more satisfied.

    Jamar Home Remodeling
Windows had been scheduled to be replaced on September 22 and 23 of 2011. It turned out that on these 2 days it was raining and on the 23rd it was raining really hard. I had requested that the dates be changed and work be done at another time when the weather was better. they insisted and assured me that  they knew what they were doing, that the caulking they use penetrates the water and that their crew needed to work. The work was completed on 9/23/11 and i paid them off in full. A couple of days later someone, that was checking out the windows, pointed out to me that most of the windows had not been caulked on the outside and rain water had gotten under the aluminum. I contacted jim and he came back with one of his workers( Mario) and caulked all the outside windows. Two days after that there were some strong winds and the bottom part of 2 of the windows blew in and one of the glass shattered. it seems like these 2 windows had not been set in their tracts right.. Again Jim returned took out the window with the broken glass and went and got it fixed. With regards to the doors i had to tell them to put a molding around the frame of 2 of the doors as there was like a half inch gap all around. They were going to leave them like that.

PS....I would use them again, because they are very nice people. However, knowing what i know now, i would watch them more closely and make sure everything is caulked properly before i would pay them off in full. Also i would not want the job done on a rainy day as the workers didn't really want to get wet working on the outside of the house.
