We only have outstanding things to say about the Better Basement Company. Joe Bacarella and his team designed, built, and completed our home improvement/remodeling project. They managed the project from start to finish in the most professional manner. They oversaw all aspects of the project, including time management, budget, and safety. They also managed each critical subcontractor. They were efficient, their work was superb (and we are perfectionists), and, most of all, they were gentlemen that were truly trustworthy. Our young children were in the house with them during the day, and they took extra care to look out for their safety and to make the project fun for them. They are the nicest guys who go the extra mile to make sure the customer is happy. They are artists with their tilework. They are able to envision an empty space and truly listen to what you want. Its as if youre getting an architect, kitchen designer, bathroom designer, engineer, and interior decorator all in one. If you find a picture on the internet and give it to them, they can replicate it. They are true masters of their craft and compose themselves with the utmost integrity, honesty, and respect. They defy every stereotype you hear about remodeling construction companies. We love our home, and its because of their dedication and hard work that we have only good memories of the construction.

Joe and his team did a great job replacing our front porch floor and side rail . This is the third time we have hired Elite Carpentry to do work at our house and they continue to be highly dependable in the quality of their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Everything went great . Joe and his team arrived early and completed the work in a timely manner. Our house being older the job required a lot of work to get everything leveled etc and Joe did an outstanding job. The carpentry was excellent and the tile and floor looks great . I would not hesitate to recommend Elite Carpentry .

This company is very good. This is the 2nd time they have done work for us. The first time we had them refinished all our wood floors. They did an excellent job. This time we decided to have wall to wall carpeting taken out and hardwood floors installed in 2 areas. They came as scheduled. All the workers work hard. The quality of work is excellent. The owner, Dave, runs a very good company.

    The good:
The office/sales staff was very responsive and accommodating. They definitely bent over backwards to schedule me for the best possible time when my other renovations were complete. The estimate was spot on, and they never tried to upcharge me for the transitions or the repair. They were good for the most part about cleaning up at the end of each day, and they got the job done exactly on schedule. The repair looks excellent - you would never know there had been a hole in the wood. The transitions between rooms are improved and although they're not what I hoped for the crew explained the limitations they had in fixing them and I felt that they did the best they could.

    The bad:
I felt very rushed into the color selection. The crew arrived early on the day they were beginning the staining to accommodate my work schedule. They did not have any samples for me to look at; I was very surprised by that. They put 2 colors on the floor, one medium and one dark and asked me to choose. I said I'd like something with a bit of grey to it and they brought in a grey which looked like deck paint and tried to thin it out with another stain. Essentially they told me that the grey and the darker stain would not look good with my built-ins or my staircase (they were right) and that left the one shade of medium brown. I had to leave for work and I had no other choices, so that's what I ended up with. At the end of the day it looks fine, but I think with the amount of money we spent we should at least have had some samples to look at and a little broader range to select from. Aside from that, I had a few other issues. Over the course of the five days the job took to complete, my house was left twice with the doors wide open and no one here. Anyone could have walked in. I let this go the first time it happened because when the crew left for lunch they just left their equipment in the front door and took off. They were not aware that I was leaving for an appointment and I had no choice but to leave the house open. The second time, however, I vacated to allow them to finish the staining without us being in the way. I specifically told the foreman to close up the house when he left, and he agreed. When we returned the front door was unlocked and both the outer and inner garage doors were wide open. Not unlocked - ajar. Again, anyone could have walked in. The Prestige staff repeatedly advised me that all other renovations should be completed before we had the floors done, and while I see their point I do wish I hadn't just spent a fortune on paint because these guys got stain all over the place. I expected some touch up to have to be done on the trim but there is stain on the walls, the front door, the room doors, you name it. They also skipped over a hard-to-reach area between a cabinet and a half-wall, which is understandable but should have been discussed. One final comment: since the doors and windows had to be open it was very hot in the house. One of the workers shared that opinion with some unsavory language within range of my 3 kids, which I really didn't appreciate.

Overall, the floor looks much better than it did before. The cost was what we agreed on and the work was done on time. We could have had a better experience with the crew and their respect for our home.
