  • I think we had every kind of wiring ever invented from knob and tube to non metallic and over the years many rooms in the house ran off the same circuits since we only had a 20 circuit panel. After living here for 35 years we finally decided to get the whole house updated to code. We had all the wires, switches and outlets including new boxes replaced with the proper 15 or 20 amp wiring and circuit breakers, about 10 additional outlets installed, an upgraded 40 circuit breaker panel with a generator interlock system installed, six ceiling fans with wall mounted fan controls and light dimmers installed, a thermostatic controlled attic exhaust fan installed, two outside outlets installed and five hard wired smoke/carbon monoxide detectors installed. Tony, the owner, and his two assistants Vinnie and Dan showed up on the day and at the time promised and were very neat and professional. They spent five and a half full days doing the work and all were very professional and pleasant to work with. When the job was done they carted away all the old materials. The job was completed at the original estimated price and passed inspection the first time. I would highly recommend Diamond Electrical Services and plan to use them again any time we might need any other electical work done.

  • We had several jobs we needed done around our home in November. Tony responded to my inquiry promptly and gave us an estimate, which my husband and I felt was well-priced. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. A week ago, the light in our family room went out again. Tony was able to come over the day after I got in touch with him and corrected the problem at no charge. All around excellent service! I would not hesitate to recommend him to family & friends.

  • The job was poorly managed and the work was of poor quality.  The project was quoted to complete in 3 to 4 weeks.  It started in late March and finally completed in late May.  Here is a breakdown of all of the tasks and/or issues:
    1.) The gutting of the kitchen went smoothly aside from the garbage/debris that was left of the front/left side of my house for approximately 5 weeks.  The cutout in the load barring wall was done well too. 
    2.) From here on out the project was one mishap after another.  The first issue was the taping, spackling and sanding.  When this type of work is done, plastic barriers need to be put up to ensure that drywall dust doesn't go all over the house.  This was not done. The result was drywall dust all over the house, including the second floor.  My wife and I were both working through the renovation so we were relying on Bob to manage the job site.  When the job was quoted, he said he would be on the job site everyday so I expected him to manage it properly.  He was there every morning, but leaves once all of the guys are on the site.  We have 2 year old and at the time, my wife was 8 months pregnant.  Because of Bob/team's neglect, my wife and kid were breathing this stuff in.  We had to get a professional cleaner to shampoo carpets and couches.  This is unacceptable, disrespectful to my family and serious neglect.  I discussed this with Bob and he said it wasn't "one of my guys".  Bob farms out some of the work.  I don't care whose guy it was, they represent him and he should be managing the site.  In addition, the ceiling in my kitchen had sand finish.  Certain areas were taped, sanded and was smooth.  The whole ceiling needed to be skim coated to balance the finish.  Originally, Bob's team was not going to do it.  He said, "you can just get the painter to add more sand on the smooth parts" to even out the texture.  This is not the right way to do it.  It is a lazy shortcut.  We disagreed on that and he took care it.  On last thing on his sheetrock/spackle guy, he was rude and disrespectful to my wife.  
    3.) Next, Bob reached out to us to discuss the unevenness of the floor.  He said it would be "a lot of work" to level the floor.  Typically, leveling cement is put down to level the floor.  Instead, he wanted to change the orientation of the tile to make it work.  He stated that they could make it work by "changing the trowel depth" on the low sections to make it more even.  Against my better judgment, I took him at his word.  The outcome was an uneven floor and wasted tile - my expense.  In addition, the floor guy mixed the grout in my laundry room and bathroom.  He got grout on the dryer, bathroom walls and sunk and dust all over the place (also had to be cleaned up by the professional cleaners). My wife cleaned the bathroom, at 8 months pregnant.
    4.) Next, the cabinet install went okay for the most part aside from the cardboard debris that was flying all over the place in the front of my house.  We received the wrong crown molding, but Bob got the right one ordered and installed 
    5) Then, the countertop was delayed 10 days for whatever reason.  The countertop name was given to Bob at the beginning of the job. He should have called the company to determine order and delivery time and put the order in accordingly.  Once received, the long portion of the countertop got cracked sometime during the delivery or the cutting process causing another 7-10 day delay.  At least, they were able to install the island countertop and sink.  The first full day we used the sink, I noticed that there was a leak into the sink basin.  That was fixed the next day.  
    6.) Finally after the rest of the countertop was put in, they started to install the backsplash.  The initial "finished" product was terrible.  I called Bob as soon as I got home from work.  He came out to look at the work.  Two major issues...1) the tiles were not straight and level horizontally, 2.) the tiles were not level to the wall (if you ran your hands down the wall, you would feel raised areas-also visible to the eye.) Bob pulled the tile off the wall and they came back the next day to fix the unevenness.  However, they did not fix the slanted tiles correctly.  Instead, it was installed to a similar quality as the original install.  They had to come back again and fix it.  This time they used spacers and did it right.  Finally, the job was done. 
    Bob did a poor job of managing this job and his guys.  We've had discussions about the poor quality work and he's given me answers like these "aren't my guys."  My thoughts to that is that every person that came into my house was a reflection of him.  He let them take one shortcut after another because he wasn't managing and we weren't on the job site to make sure they were doing it right.  In addition to that, whenever the work got remotely complicated, Bob tried to talk us into doing it the wrong way.  He did respond to phone calls, but he gave no solid answers on timing or performance.  I would not work with Bob "In the Spirit" again.

    Update: This is in response to "In the Spirits" reply.  There is an obvious disconnect between myself and Bob seeing as he believes that my "comments are not true to (your) recollection."  Your recollection of how all was attended to, rectified and met with satisfaction is not true.  I have attached 6 photos.  Two each of the shoddy work done on the backsplash, two of the uneven tile floor (same cabinet-15" wide-two different views) and two of separate photos of cracks in the grout (5 months after the tile was installed).  Regarding the backsplash, the issue was resolved eventually after I had Bob and team come back two more times (as stated in my original review).  My point as stated in the review is that the job was not managed properly.  The photos are perfect examples of how work was not done incorrectly.  Grout is not supposed to crack unless something is done wrong.  While Bob/team addressed some of the issues, I had to call the issues out.  Again, it is not my job to manage the site or ensure that the work is being done properly.  Attaching the photos so the reader can decide.

My confidence in them and their workmanship is great .Four separate lines in my basement, rewiring new lights in bathroom, and installing exhaust for new bathroom. I gladly hand out their cards to friends so they can also get great service. Who ever reads this trust me. You too will be impressed by them. Give them a call. You wont regret.

  • As usual, Tony was prompt and professional. I was reassured that the problem was within the fixture, and not the wiring. I had chosen a fixture that required assembly, so it took a little while to put the parts together, but it looks great.
    For years we have used an extension cord to plug in the holiday decorations, and now finally, we have an outlet outside in the front. Tony connected to the wiring through the only wall (through the garage wall and layers of cedar shakes)that was not brick, and now we have a place to plug in the lights and the lawn care equipment.
