    New Generation Painting
From beginning to end of this big, complicated project William and his team were efficient, helpful, skilled, and pleasant to deal with. Our basement went from looking like a damaged relic of yester-year to a sparkling space in which you would want to spend time. They replaced the ceiling, put in new lights, painted the walls, and installed a new floor and stair surface. They scheduled the work quickly, were responsive to phone calls, and followed up on loose ends. Highly recommend.

    Puglisi Renovations LLC
I found them to be very easy to work with, and I thought they did a very nice job renovating and re-doing an old bathroom in my home. They were very pleasant and responsive, and were willing to speak with me and meet with me (or go with me) whenever I had questions during the planning leading up to the purchase of everything I needed for the renovated bathroom. They were very courteous and considerate, and did everything they could to minimize the dirt and disruption in my home during the days while they were doing the work. I was very pleased with the quality of the work they did for me and I felt it was a very fair price - and it was completed in my required time-frame. I recommend them highly and would certainly call them again if I needed to do further home renovation work.

    JC General Construction LLC
We're extremely pleased with the service provided and are so happy with the results. They were conscientious and took real pride in their work. They listened to what we wanted and made suggestions if we needed them. They were on time and easily reached for questions. Most of all I felt safe and found them to be so very honest.

    Wilber's Painting
Wilber's painting was very responsive to my needs and time table. Nikki came over to review the job and provide an estimate. I received a phone call to confirm the time and location and Nikki arrived promptly at the time agreed. I was sent a professional and complete estimate within the time agreed. Once I agreed to the estimate and scheduled the start of the job, the workers arrived on time, were professional and curious. The made sure to protect all the surfaces from dust and paint and cleaned the job site when done. The job was completed earlier than estimated. The completed job workmanship was excellent. I will certainly use Wilber's Painting in the future.

    Prestige Painting & Renovation
Jade was great! They were right on time, worked quickly and did a beautiful job, accommodated some schedule issues on my end, were really pleasant to have around, thoroughly cleaned up afterwards, and did it all at a reasonable price.

    J Canabe's Painting Co
Excellent! Hard-working, clean and pleasant professional crews (Martin was my team's leader and he was a gem).
What's especially appealing about J. Canabe is how much they really care. I hired a color expert (the former creative director of a MAJOR paint manufacturer). Although her recommendations were generally excellent, there was one selection she made that just wasn't smart: high gloss, dark walls in a stair hall. J. Canabe advised me against it but I didn't listen.  Big mistake. Had to redo it at my expense.
While the painters didn't get everything right the first time, they were great at acknowledging what wasn't right and correcting it quickly and without complaint. When touchups were needed, I didn't have to wait three weeks for them to return; generally, they were back in within a day or two.
I would hire them again. Highly recommended.

    A Wonderful Job Painting
It could not have gone better.  They came in the house and painted and spackled and repaired while I was at work.  Normally I do not like leaving contractors, etc. alone in my house but Yvonne & Billy are so trustworthy I didn't hesitate.   They listened carefully to what I wanted and at times made suggestions that were better than anything I could come up with.  The treated me with the care and compassion (yes, compassion!) one treats a family member.  Their work is exceptional and they leave your place cleaner than it started.   I'm very glad that I'm not moving too far away and can continue to use them.

    Wilber's Painting
Mr Wilber himself coordinated all the work. The team was punctual, reliable, finished the job on time. Mr Wilber was very easy to communicate with, he remembered everything we asked them to do and followed up. Very professional, hard working and pleasant. We will use them again in the future (with an older house there are many things that need fixing).

    Franks Painting
Summary: Frank and his guys were amazing. The quality of the work was great, he speed and cleanliness even better. We'd stupidly done the floors before we did the walls, but his guys worked so clean, there wasn't a spot of paint anywhere there wasn't supposed to be. And the colors Frank helped us pick out worked PERFECTLY. It's transformed entirely rooms that had felt closed and oppressive into places so light and airy... Best money spent on the house to date.
Further details of why Frank was awesome:
So we had large holes in textured plaster from the previous owners. Frank (as well as everyone else we talked to) candidly told us that trying to match the texture would never work exactly, not with the size of the holes we were talking about. So (completely misunderstanding what we were asking for) we asked him to skim coat that ONE wall. He gave us a quizzical look, then agreed and quoted a great price.
Well, his guy did a great job, but when we saw that ONE wall was now smooth plaster and the other three were textured... Well I called Frank and he explained that this is actually EXACTLY what we asked for... and then proceeded to apologize in not pushing back harder when we asked for it and making certain we really knew what we were asking him to do. At which point he offered to do the other three walls at cost! The walls are now perfectly smooth, and we like them so much better it's not even funny.
That level of service, concern for his customers, and professionalism was demonstrated throughout our experience with Frank.
I'm planning to hire him again to do the rest of the house, and when it comes time to do the exterior, I'm calling him again. Thanks for helping me find him, Angie's List, but now that I have, I don't need you to send me info on any other painters now!

    Terranova Remodeling LLC
I hired Terranova Remodeling as the GC for my full house remodel when we moved to New Jersey.  Peter was recommended by a real estate agent we knew and I did call a few of his references from smaller jobs who seemed to like his work. He was the least expensive and was very responsive when it came to giving me a quote. From there it went downhill.  The renovation took extremely long and the workmanship was shoddy to say the least.  He cut a lot of corners and definitely tried to pull the wool over my eyes on several occasions.  Below is a list of things he did wrong or poorly:
    - Exterior doors were ordered incorrectly and installed incorrectly so that they leak a ton of air and will have to be straightened by someone else.
    - Interior doors were not installed correctly so that they now hang wrong.
    - One of his workers sanded over the expensive wallpaper in my powder room so that a whole section had to be re-installed.
    - He left antique door hardware in a bucket out in the rain for a month (that I had explicitly told him was being re-installed) and I had to polish it all by hand because it was so rusted out and tarnished.
    - Tiling was done and had to be re-done when it was not done satisfactorily resulting in use of extra materials.
    - Our dryer venting was not done correctly and had to be reworked by another contractor because it kept getting clogged
    - The bathroom fan was venting directly into the attic insulation. When I asked about this specifically said it was venting to the outside.
    - He cut corners by using mdf strips instead of wood moldings and back-bands.
    - The job site was generally a total mess and he could never find stuff.  This resulted in extra purchases such as hardware and paint because the originals could not be located.
    - He borrowed and used my materials and tools: drills, ladders etc without asking.  And he lost my painters ladder.
    - He never wrote anything down so I constantly had to print out new punch lists and lists of paint colors for him.
    - He ecommended several subcontractors who were related to him (unknown to me at the time) and who did an even worse job (the bathtub overflow was installed incorrectly and leaked twice which resulted in re-doing my kitchen ceiling twice, and the HVAC was installed completely incorrectly).
I have had several contractors in the past who did a good job so I consider myself both knowledgeable and not super picky, but this was a really horrible experience. If I had not been there to guide him and pick up his mistakes as he went along it would be even more of a disaster.  I have had a contractor and various specialists come in to fix the mistakes that he made and they have all commented on what a "bootleg" job was done and how it is incredible that we were able to actually pass inspections.
Had I lived here longer and had more time I would definitely had done more research and would not have used him. Hopefully this review will help someone else in the process.
