Electrician reviews in Millburn

    Puglisi Renovations LLC
I found them to be very easy to work with, and I thought they did a very nice job renovating and re-doing an old bathroom in my home. They were very pleasant and responsive, and were willing to speak with me and meet with me (or go with me) whenever I had questions during the planning leading up to the purchase of everything I needed for the renovated bathroom. They were very courteous and considerate, and did everything they could to minimize the dirt and disruption in my home during the days while they were doing the work. I was very pleased with the quality of the work they did for me and I felt it was a very fair price - and it was completed in my required time-frame. I recommend them highly and would certainly call them again if I needed to do further home renovation work.

Hudson Plumbing Air Conditioning & Drain Cleaning
I continue to stand by my previous excellent (A+) reviews of Tommy and his plumbing company. He has come to our aid numerous times since my initial review and each time he has been punctual, professional and great to deal with. We now use their plumbing service that was well priced and has been a boon to us. We have also used his company to change out water lines and other plumbing repairs. I would highly recommend Tommy and Hudson Plumbing (which has changed names a few times - still located in Hawthorne, NJ).

    Jason Klein Electrical Contractor LLC

Jason and his brother Stephen were nothing short of amazing in how they handled this job.  I am not one to often use superlatives when reviewing work done but?WOW?FANTASTIC?SPECTACULAR!!!

In summary, they were punctual, extremely accomodating, honest, conscientious, trustworthy, worked ethically from the beginning of the job through job completion, priced the jobs fairly, and were very pleasant to be around.  They always explained in detailed what needed to be done in advance and asked for our ok to perform the work.  All work was done in a single day).  Total job cost $578.

Wed Dec 16th, 2015 -  We contacted Jason Klein Electrical Contractors at 1 pm to install a new dining room ceiling fan with light, in place of an existing older fixture and were given a rough estimate for the ceiling fan installation, noting that the job can vary for an older home such as ours, based upon the fact that you never know what you are up against after you remove the old fixture (makes sense).   Surprisingly, they made it to our house at 3:30pm.  The same day!

Jason arrived with Stephen promptly and courteously asked if they could move furniture and place a tarp down to prep the area for work.  They were very considerate of home furnishings, something we really do appreciate!  They removed any trash and vacuumed any dust and debris, keeping the place spotless.

After removing the old ceiling fixture they then noted that they would need to install a sturdy ceiling bracket with braces, since there were none currently, and that because this was an older house, it would be required to hold the weight of the ceiling fan safely (highly understandable and logical).

I was surprised and pleased to see they were here already when I got home from work!

Jason made extra sure the bracket was installed correctly, installed the part of the fan without the blades first, to insure the ceiling fan would turn in a balanced manner.  With the help of his brother, they then assembled the remainder of the fan with fan blades and made sure it was again balanced.

Voila, the fan and light worked like a charm with remote control when the job was completed!

They then examined the outlet opposite a stall shower on the rec room level as per our request, and uncovered an unsafe condition with the existing outlet.  They carefully corrected this condition and promptly installed the GFCI outlet.

We then asked them to inspect our main electrical panel, noting that we have had issues with circuit breakers blowing periodically, due to multiple appliances being plugged in.  They then revealed another possibly dangerous condition and promptly got to work to correct these issues upon our ok!

We were very grateful that they could complete with work in one day without a return visit, as you never know when one of these unsafe conditions could have reared their ugly head!

All the work was done correctly and to our satisfaction?same day?simply amazing!!

Many thanks to Jason and Stephen!!

Yes.  We would happily use them again in a heartbeat!!

    Tosone Electric Inc
I shifted to new home and found that some of the switches aren't working, Don was able to find how the circuit is connected and find the fault in wiring. He has all the tools handy in his van, including some of the switches which needed to be fixed. I will definltly use his service next time there is some fault.

MDL Electric LLC Cooling & Heating

MDL Electric Principal Miguel De Leon and his staff were prompt, attentive and professional in

the coordination of all three phases of the generator Installation project.  From Permitting, Plumbing,

coordination with the Utility Company and the final electrical installation, they were communicative

and responsive.  They also completed side electrical projects at a fair value.

    Jason Klein Electrical Contractor LLC
Jason was punctual, pleasant and professional.  Although it could have been challenging to diagnose the problem because of the multi-switch system, Jason was able to fix the problem quickly  and restore my kitchen light to working condition.  I recommend him highly.

    Superior Wirework

    Great service.

Jonathan was the technician and Jon was the inspector. Dan Stroup arranged to have both services  at the same time (almost) so i could go back to work. I wanted to do a check up of the electrical work for some time so the coupon was a great incentive

they called ahead of time and were both   professional and  very polite .  The technician, Jonathan, was competent  and worked efficiently so  the light fixture repair  took less than one hour .   The inspector  (Jon)  did a thorough  electrical inspection of my house which is quite old (1934). I got the impression that the inspector was straightforward and was NOT trying to find things. He  informed me about what  was not up to code, but  safe and OK, and  found only one safety problem  (a GFCI (?) trip in a bathroom switch needs replacement, only a minor repair) that needs immediate attention.

I did not yet get the quote resulting from inspection, so I can't comment on that, but  so far I had a great experience.  I plan to use this company again.

    Terranova Remodeling LLC
I hired Terranova Remodeling as the GC for my full house remodel when we moved to New Jersey.  Peter was recommended by a real estate agent we knew and I did call a few of his references from smaller jobs who seemed to like his work. He was the least expensive and was very responsive when it came to giving me a quote. From there it went downhill.  The renovation took extremely long and the workmanship was shoddy to say the least.  He cut a lot of corners and definitely tried to pull the wool over my eyes on several occasions.  Below is a list of things he did wrong or poorly:
    - Exterior doors were ordered incorrectly and installed incorrectly so that they leak a ton of air and will have to be straightened by someone else.
    - Interior doors were not installed correctly so that they now hang wrong.
    - One of his workers sanded over the expensive wallpaper in my powder room so that a whole section had to be re-installed.
    - He left antique door hardware in a bucket out in the rain for a month (that I had explicitly told him was being re-installed) and I had to polish it all by hand because it was so rusted out and tarnished.
    - Tiling was done and had to be re-done when it was not done satisfactorily resulting in use of extra materials.
    - Our dryer venting was not done correctly and had to be reworked by another contractor because it kept getting clogged
    - The bathroom fan was venting directly into the attic insulation. When I asked about this specifically said it was venting to the outside.
    - He cut corners by using mdf strips instead of wood moldings and back-bands.
    - The job site was generally a total mess and he could never find stuff.  This resulted in extra purchases such as hardware and paint because the originals could not be located.
    - He borrowed and used my materials and tools: drills, ladders etc without asking.  And he lost my painters ladder.
    - He never wrote anything down so I constantly had to print out new punch lists and lists of paint colors for him.
    - He ecommended several subcontractors who were related to him (unknown to me at the time) and who did an even worse job (the bathtub overflow was installed incorrectly and leaked twice which resulted in re-doing my kitchen ceiling twice, and the HVAC was installed completely incorrectly).
I have had several contractors in the past who did a good job so I consider myself both knowledgeable and not super picky, but this was a really horrible experience. If I had not been there to guide him and pick up his mistakes as he went along it would be even more of a disaster.  I have had a contractor and various specialists come in to fix the mistakes that he made and they have all commented on what a "bootleg" job was done and how it is incredible that we were able to actually pass inspections.
Had I lived here longer and had more time I would definitely had done more research and would not have used him. Hopefully this review will help someone else in the process.

    C Pritchett Electric LLC
Good value for local electrician would have charged 3x as much for the work Mr. Pritchett did.  He was overwhelmed by demand for his offer which made scheduling the appointment harder than I thought.  Overall, he was solid, not spectacular.  I'd use him again.
