We are reviewing Jim, the owner's work, before he even finishes our job. We needed a five foot retaining wall torn down and replaced as well as reinforcing two other five foot retaining walls. We needed walkways/sidewalks and three sets of stairs completely replaced. Jim is covering the walls and steps with a beautiful stone which is labor intensive for him and his workers, but beautiful as a result. Jim is literally on the job every single day--his workers are never here alone. Furthermore, our Boro Hall made getting the approval and permits so difficult, that we had to wait one and a half years for plans to be approved by two sets of engineers before Jim could begin. We live on a very busy street as well. None of the above deterred Jim from taking our job! Moreover, our neighbors on both sides like Jim and his workmanship so much, they both hired him as well! We highly recommend this company and all of the workers.

Jersey Heating & Air Conditioning General Const.
Owner came and reviewed the job hand and I pointed out all the things I wanted to have done. Repair the brick steps and repair the cement steps. Yes no problem is the response I got. He gave me an estimate and we scheduled a date. When the work was done 4 hours later when I was paying for 2 men for 8 hours and the brick steps were not fixed properly. The response I got was that that wasn't what we were planning on doing and that they did the best they could. I looks like cement spilled all over my brick steps. He tells me that what I wanted would have required the steps to be taken apart. Well then he should have told me that from the beginning. I feel cheated and lied to and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The first set of cement steps looks okay. Not perfect but okay.

Great work done by Jim and his coworkers. I choose to have an older style of brick that would match my house and Jim was able to find just what I wanted. I also upgraded to Blue Stone steps in place of limestone -- best decision. The steps and porch look great. I will try to post a picture in the future. I highly recommend Jim and this company.

    Magnolia Home Remodeling Group
Magnolia was by far the easiest company we have worked with. They actually exceeded our expectations. Numerous times we had questions and they were answered immediately. The ease of working with Magnolia was well worth the price.

Contractor was punctual, professional and attentive. Contractor explained the details of the work before and after the job was completed. Cement in between bricks has sustained weather since job was completed (May 2014). The cement dyed red brick color to match the existing brick looks good. Contractor impermeabilised the stairs after the job was done to prevent water damage. I did not feel pressured nor rushed to hire the contractor. I would recommend this mason team to friends and family.

    A. Curatola Contracting Inc.
The whole process went very smoothly. Ryan Curatola gave me the estimate for the work when he first came to see the job. He completely explained the process and patiently answered my questions. The estimate was very fair and much more reasonable than another estimate that I had gotten. He scheduled the work very quickly.
His crew of 3 men arrived on the appointed day in the morning right when they said they'd be there. They were quick and efficient and completed the work in the one day allotted. I am very satisfied with their work.

    Bergen County Mason Contractors
We called Jim and he arrived the same day to give us an estimate. We called the next day to tell Jim we wanted him to do the work, and he was able to start work the following day. Three days later we had a beautiful new paver walkway and patio!
Jim's estimate was fair and accurate. Jim and his team of workers really knew what they were doing and put us at ease.
They worked very hard to remove the old concrete and prepare the surface, and the installation went very smoothly. We would recommend Bergen County Mason Contractors to anyone looking for excellent work at a fair price!

    Driveway Contractor LLC
The owner was easy to reach as he forwards his calls to his cell phone when not in the office. He showed up the next day for the estimate which was a more than fair price and started the job the day after the permit was optained. The job was very difficult due to the fact that I live on a busy street. Everything they did was well orchestrated. The asphalt driveway was removed and replaced with additional stone and grading followed by the asphalt with no puddling which was an issue before they did the driveway. I also had them do a concrete apron and sidewalk at my other house in Bergen county, NJ

Jim is part of a family business; the team was all relatives who worked well together, were friendly and personable, and very professional. He first drew up plans, which we suggested some minor changes to (making the turnaround area wider). Our house is a historic Dutch Sandstone, so Jim suggested a paver pattern and color that matched the cut stone pattern of the house itself. This was a brilliant idea, and we are very happy with it. We also have bluestone slate walks around the house, and part of the public sidewalk is also bluestone. Jim and his extended family re-set all of the bluestone, replacing damaged pieces, all for the original quote for the driveway alone.
The design also solved a long term problem of water from the road using our driveway as a path during heavy rain that would flood our yard (there are no nearby storm drains). Jim's approach solved this by elevating the sidewalk in front of the driveway, with a shallow ramp up and over the sidewalk to the driveway itself.
Finally, after all was done the county decided to remove a tree on the verge near our house. Jim's team came and picked up the new bluestone near the tree, then relaid it after the tree and stump were removed. Again, not charge.

I told them what I wanted.  They completely broke down the brick and concrete.  They put new foundation for the step and build up the concrete and cover some of it with brick and topped it with limestone.  There was a point where they said we got to do this and it was a couple of hundred for that because they had to dig deeper and weren’t sure how the cement underneath was.  They left some concrete bits in my front lawn.  I did have an issue with the top step with the way they finished it and I didn’t really like what they had done, but they eventually fixed it to my satisfaction.  What they finished didn’t look nice to me and I understood there is an issue and they have to come around a little.  My house is not completely flat across the front and the dining room sticks out  about a foot and half and so it looks bigger so they had to cut around that but they didn’t finish it to me in a way that was aesthetically speaking.  They talked me out saying this is all we had to do.  I took the photograph and I sent it them and said this is what I will post on Angie’s list and then somebody came the next day.  It wasn’t symmetric and it didn’t look professionally finished.  The center was a rectangle of concrete and bordered by limestone.  The rectangle of concrete was not even a rectangle and the first and second stripe was straight but the third one went about two third of the way down and came out of three and went down again six or seven inches.  It didn’t look nice.  The little place where it was kicked off they had to cut the lime stone to fit in there and they would have got an actual rectangle and they were too lazy to do that.
