  • The guys at Dew Drop did a great job. From John who gave me the initial estimate, to Tim and the crew that did the actual installation. Everything was done professionally and completely explained. Also, my landscapers came and installed some garden beds that interfered with the system and Dew Drop came out and moved the heads to better spots. I would recommend them in a second.

  • The gentleman said that the phrase that said "does not include materials" means that this business does not bring tools to do the job.  I didn't ask for him to bring plants, or sod, or materials.  I expected him to bring tools to do the described job.

Shortly after I asked this person for my money back, I received a phone call from the owner.  He said that the deal is for the labor and it wouldn't be "fair" of me to expect them to bring tools.  He offered to send someone else with some tools.  At that point I don't want him to continue or to be here.  I just want my money refunded.  I will contact Angies List for a refund.

  • Randy arrived with his crew on time. They promptly began to work. All was going well until we realized that they had stripped the trunk of a huge tree in the middle of our backyard. The agreed upon plan had been to remove the sucklings along the bottom third of the trunk in order to "clean up" the tree. The plan was also to have a worker climb to the top of the tree to inspect it and make sure it wasn't at risk of falling into our house. Unfortunately, the worker misunderstood and removed most of the branches on the tree...leaving a very strange looking, branchless 45 foot tree. We waved the worker off and asked where Randy was, as he was supposed to be overseeing the job. None of the workers knew where he was. They had to call him on the phone. Turns out that while our tree was being mauled, Randy was next door at our neighbor's home trying to get more work. Finally, he came back looking defeated. We were angry. He admitted that the job went wrong, but refused to take responsibility. He said he would come back when he could fit us in. We asked if he would split the cost of full tree removal with us (which was very fair). He said he would "think about it". We tried several times over the following weeks to reach him, but Randy never called us back. Of course mistakes happen. But Randy had a terrible attitude, turned and walked away from us and never attempted to rectify their mistake. His lack of professionalism and accountability is why I would caution anyone from hiring Barrett. You want to know that the company you hire has integrity and cares about the quality of their work.

  • Terrible experience. I'm not sure how this person receives so many A-ratings. Completely inconsistent with times/days his crew would show up, with no advance notice whatsoever. Never introduced me to his team. When they poured the new concrete on my front steps, they somehow decided not to put up any barricades or caution tape, so one of my neighbors came up to knock on the door and promptly ruined the work that had already taken 3x longer than it should have. Almost every single thing they did has already deteriorated or broken...paint job inside and out is peeling and cracking (I asked him to come fix and sent him pictures. He told me it was the way the cabinets were installed, but they are the same cabinets I've had for years and I've never had a problem with the kitchen paint before!). The deck is in worse shape than ever - he told me that he never said his repair would last. Why would I pay thousands of dollars for a repair that didn't even last through the winter??? He re-sealed my driveway, and the sealant started to wear within 4 months. Now I have pockets of old driveway showing through...looks terrible.  The new paver patio is falling apart...I have weeds growing in between the stones!! I could literally keep listing every issue, but I hope you get the point.

The ONLY positive is that his carpenter is completely amazing and talented. The only things that haven't broken down are the things that he did. He built a beautiful door for us and replaced a couple of doors and trim. Very talented, but shouldn't be working for this snake oil salesman. BUYER BEWARE

  • Patric and his team showed up on time and did an outstanding job on trimming back 3 trees for me.  The team cleaned up everything that was cut and they even took clippings that I had in the curb.  Patric give me advise on what to plant and where.
    Great job, thank you

  • My grass lawn turned brown despite recommended watering.. Scott's owner was not only totally unresponsive but (imho) fairly arrogant and blamed everything other than their service.  I switched to another lawn service and within 30 days my lawn was green again.  Even getting a refund of my remaining pre-paid service fee required a ridiculous amount of near daily phone calls, a refund that is mandated by law for pre-paid service companies.

  • The contract was signed for work to start at the end of April. Work was not completed until the end of July. After completion issues were immediately noted: Wrong color edging used in a few spaces, lack of enough sand filler, and worst of all a section of patio against the house is not sloped properly creating a major draining issue.
The company could care less about completing the project on time and making the repairs to the job, which is in the contract. Been 2.5 months since job completion and reapirs are still not done with no comitted completion date.
The customer service along the way has been terrible. Every week there was a call that the project would start next week and it never did. Now that I am unsatisfied with the job and want to have it repaired they won't even return calls or update on timing.
    Very poor experience overall.

  • Jon is great to work with. His philosophy is that he rather give his clients a fair price and great service so that they continue to use him and recommend him to friends and family. That has been our experience. We hired him to install a sprinkler system on our property. We were so impressed that we recommended him to several friends who went on to use his services as well. He came back and installed lights on our property. Our property looks great.
Affordable, great service and Jon is always quick to return a call or to stop by if we need a quick hand with something.

  • Pat and his company came back to our house to perform more work. We had such a professional job done the first time, were wondering if they would be consistent. Well, they did an OUTSTANDING job. We needed our bushes trimmed before the winter, and needed top soil and mulch to replace area where swing set was removed. Pat also cleared out more vegetation for our neighbor next door. The yard looked HUGE when they finished.
Also, our bushes look amazing. They almost look fake they are so perfectly trimmed. These guys really take their work seriously. Can't say enough about this company!
Also, I am in no way related, or friend's with these people! When I find an excellent company I want to tell people about them!

  • Our yard needed some side yard clearing, new mulch, and we wanted to add some new bushes. Also, our neighbor right next door had major vegetation growing over our fence, causing it to weaken. I told Pat (the owner) that the neighbor had some serious health issues going on and could not keep up with the property at the moment. I asked if he could clear that out on their property.
    He said "no problem".
Well, first of all, I have to emphasize how incredibly consistent Pat was in responding to my emails. He got back to me each time within 24hrs. He also came with his crew when he said he would. My husband and I were so happy!
When they arrived, they got to work, and I saw them planting the bushes. Talk about mouth dropping!!! I do not know where Pat found this man, but his employee created (trimmed) the most gorgeous, elegant circular boxwoods !!!!! This man was Edward Scissorhands!!! We already had two hedges, and now wanted circular boxwoods in the very front. We were wondering how it would look. WOW!!!! It was STUNNING. This gentleman trimmed these bushes so incredibly, and also did a fantastic job on the hedges behind it. Our yard never looked so GOOD.
In addition, Pat's crew did the most thorough, professional, job clearing our side yard, and the neighbor's yard. They discovered there were some tricky roots to clear, but amazingly got it all out. In fact, I was not even planning on being able to plant anything, thinking it would be too bumpy. However, the guys did it so well, the yard is nice and flat!
Also, the price was EXTREMELY competitive. The most incredible thing was, when I told Pat that the neighbor was having serious health issues, he did NOT charge for their yard work. !!!!! We were so taken by Pat's hard work and compassion. We can't express enough how much we appreciate this man and his crew.
My husband and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Pat Guba of NJ Lawns and Gardens. His motto, "Where Service is Always in Season" is RIGHT ON. He gets a FIVE STAR rating for SURE
