    Benchmark Siding Co, LLC
After 30 years the wood siding on our house badly needed to be replaced ,so we decided in early 2016 to start the search for a company who could help us replace the old siding with new vinyl siding. One of the first people we contacted was David Carman of Benchmark Siding. We have noticed his work over the years as he has re-sided many of the homes in our town of Hillsborough, and we were always impressed with the quality of the work. We met with Dave and he proceeded to educate us on what types of vinyl siding products were on the market and how they were applied. Making sure we did our due diligence we also met and received estimates from three other siding companies along with performing our own research online (e.g. Angies List). At the end of the process, we selected Benchmark, it was an easy choice. Dave was extremely professional providing us with a list of references along with a copy of his insurance, and NJ State License. We really felt comfortable with Dave and liked the fact that he lived nearby and was an integral part of the community. He gave us the addresses of his previous siding jobs to help us decide on which style and color of siding to choose. This was very helpful. As we got into greater detail on the project, it was apparent that Dave has a lot of experience and is extremely knowledgeable on home construction. He gave us so many great ideas on how we could improve the curb appeal of our house. We ended up having Dave install the vinyl siding along with a beautiful new front door and helped us identify and install trim around the front door and the garage doors. Once completed, our house looked like it was brand new, we were over joyed with the final product, it was stunning and beyond our wildest expectations. I would highly recommend Dave Carman and Benchmark Siding. His price for the siding replacement and door replacement was very fair. He was very patient working with us on all the little details involved in the project, for example trying to decide what type of finish for hardware for the front door. His crew did an excellent job of performing the installation and his foreman Mark was a pleasure to work with. They were professional and meticulous to every detail. We have had so many of our neighbors stop by after the job was completed to comment on how great our house looks.

    Kepo Siding & Windows
Did a good job explaining the project, estimating time for completion, and cleaning up.  They also rehung our mailbox, new door bell, plant hanger without reminding them, as well as painting vents with matching paint.

    Tony Balsamo Contractor Inc
Tony Balsamo Contractor Inc. did quality work at reasonable rates. He & his crew were very knowledgeable, reliable, professional and courteous. They knew we were under time constraints to get the garage restoration work done and they went above and beyond to get the job done, even working in cold, wet December weather to finish the work. They were always on time, were neat with their work, and made sure they left the work area clean every day.  In addition they coordinated with our garage door installers and made sure all framing and supports were precise so that the installation of the garage doors and openers went smoothly. We plan on hiring Tony again in the spring to do additional carpentry and siding work on the exterior of our home. Good home improvement contractors are very difficult to find, and we were quite fortunate to have found Tony Balsamo.

    Tony Balsamo Contractor Inc
Tony was punctual and very professional.  He pointed things out that I was not aware of, and quickly made the necessary corrections.  He gave me other contractors as I needed them.  Very happy.  I highly recommend him and would definitely hire him for any future jobs needed.

    Times Siding Inc
Contractor was mildly aggressive trying to sell me more work than I wanted.  Verbally quoted me one price at $4000 and then 2 months later quoted me $2000 more after I decided not to get additional work done he thought he was going to get.   Professional crew, nice work, they were done in 4 hours. Left excess materials on my property and I had the hassle of getting rid of the unused construction material. Additional work was done by his subcontractor and some of that work had to be redone 8 months later.  And I got charged to fix the material failure that would not have occurred if heavier duty material had been installed by the subcontractor.  I felt like I paid too much money and got hoodwinked.  He does do good work, however, the guy is a little too "slick" for me.

    Douglas Home Improvements
It is obvious that Douglas is a hard working guy, and pretty much runs this company himself.  I don't know how much longer that will last, because he does great work at a great price. I initially called to set up an appointment with him to come give me an estimate.  He told me that he was very busy, and that he couldn't make it out for two weeks.  So, I set up the appointment.  I had also called another company that I got from Angies list, and they were obviously a much bigger company. They came out two days later, and I received an e-mail with the estimate 4 days later.  I already had the money set aside to do this project, and the price I was quoted was in that range.  I was thinking that I would just go ahead and cancel my estimate with Douglas, and go with the other company to just get this over and done with.  I mean, both company's had fantastic reviews.  So I figured that the price would be about the same, and that the work would be about the same.  However, my wife told me that I should wait to get the estimate from Douglas.  Man, am I glad I listened to her!
The first day that Douglas was supposed to come out, he had car trouble and had to cancel.  At that point I was thinking that this was going to be a waste of time.  But, we rescheduled and he showed up on time.  Usually these bigger companies want to have both the husband and wife present, so they can talk your ear off.  They bore you by explaining every little detail about the company.  They have this tactic of giving you an hour presentation, and then trying not to leave until they have a commitment from you.  Douglas did none of this.  He showed up, asked what I wanted to have done, walked around the house, and gave me my estimate.  Right then and there!  He just wrote it out by hand.  I don't think that the whole process took more than 10-15 minutes.  He didn't even come in side.  His estimate was over $400 cheaper than the previous one.  So, I asked when he could start.  He told me that he could have his crew out by the end of the week.
His crew arrived right on time.  They were very respectful, and worked hard.  It took 3-4 days, and they did a great job cleaning the place up when they were done.  I walked around and looked at the job they did.  It was great.  My neighbor had his done two years prior, and paid $500 more.  Mine looks as good, if not better.  So, I called Douglas up to find out what the final cost was going to be.  I figured that he gave me the estimate, and that he was going to change it and give me some BS excuse as to why it was going to be more.  Nope.  Douglas said, "Just send me a check with the amount I gave you for your estimate".
I will definitely use him again, for any project that he tells me he can do.  I also spoke to my other neighbor who is going to be doing his fascia and soffit next year.  I told him that he would be crazy not to use Douglas, and he agreed.  The only down side to this is, it is a small company.  He is very busy, and as he does more jobs I guarantee that he is going to be getting repeat clients.  This might mean that the project I might want to have done, will have to wait an extra month.  But, I will try to plan accordingly.

    Bellari Home Remodeling
In October 2013 we were loking for a new front door. We went to serveral differentvendors and since Somerville Aluminum had done our kitchen back in 2007, we went to them.  The price for the door was $5000  I asked if they could do some other small jobs at the same time and the said sure.  For $1250, they put in a new basement window, and repaired the trim around the garage doorsand back door slider.  In March 2014 we had the other 3 basement windows done by them. In April we had the garage window replaced.  Each time they were prompt. for the windows they came twice to measurem before ording windows. I think they are a bit more than other places, but they are very professional.  I'd use them again.

    Kepo Siding & Windows
I was overall satisfied with them, however there were a couple of incidences like scheduling and things that any normal person would not have done in that way, but overall it was a good job carefully done. I think it was a quality job. I think their price was quite reasonable, as I checked two or three other places. Regarding their professionalism, some of the things they did were extraordinary. After they put in the windows which was fairly quick, it only took a couple of days, I had a situation where I tried turning down the windows and the whole paint came out and I could not get it back in. This was on a Saturday, and it was a cold day and it was raining too. So, I called the owner on his cellphone and he was at home. He got the stuff at home, came over, fixed the thing, showed me how to fix it and I just thought he was extraordinary that way. He gets after his crew and he makes sure that they do the caulking well. He makes sure that they cover everything. They tape off the things where it is supposed to be taped and they work carefully. They are good workers. Regarding clean up, I think it was everything I could expect. They agreed to take out everything I had on the house to be able to put out the sidings and they reinstalled it. They went down to the nitty-gritty detail. They had one place they needed to paint and one place they needed to do some cement work around basement windows, which they could not do in a weather of that temperature so they knew that they would be coming out later and that they did in March. They did siding on my shed, they replaced the sliding glass door in the back of my house and they replaced a regular door at the back of the house as well. They put in another door, not the main door at the front but like the last door that you have outside that they put in one of those.
