    Tom Michalik Builders LLC
Working with Tom and his guys was a great experience. They were at our home by 8 a.m. every weekday of the project. They were thoughtful, responsive and did great work from designing a banquette bench to installing a wood floor. Tom made sure every detail was addressed. We were happy with the vendors and subcontractors Tom chose. He gave us detailed updates on project finances. We love our new space.

He's got to be dead by now. He was the worst. Him and I went 'round and 'round many times. I just remember that his name was Lou. He promised me that everybody worked for him and he was subcontracting out all of the work. They did not do very good work. I actually ripped some window trim off and made them redo it. Because I specified exactly what I wanted, the price wasn't bad. I would never, never, never, use them again. When he came and gave me a bid on windows and siding, he told me that he had installed Anderson windows before and then I find out he had never installed Anderson. He had only installed, he had only installed replacement vinyl windows not Anderson Windows. They're very expensive windows so he had to do a lot of fill work around the windows because of all the plaster and stuff. They don't make a window to fit an opening. They're standard sized windows and you make the opening around them fit. They're not replacement windows and he told me had experience doing this. He told me that he owns his own company and had his own employees. I found out he had subcontractors doing the work. Some of the guys didn't know how to make the windows fit. They didn't know how to trim them out. I specifically asked them not to caulk the windows because I was going to stain them. They're all wood windows and you stain them any color you want. I come home one day and the guy put silicone caulk around the windows and you can't stain over silicone. So I pulled it off. As I was pulling it off, some of the trim came off the wall. They hadn't even insulated around the windows. It was like a 4-inch gap. I called them and I had them come over and I said to him, "would you do your house like this?" He look at me and he was like, "what? What do you mean?" I said, "would you put windows in and not insulate around them?" He said, "no, we should have put insulation around them", and I said, "well, why didn't you?" It ended up in a screaming match and me asking him how many old people he screwed in this neighborhood because these are all old homes. I made him take all the trim off, replace it because the silicone was all slapped all over them, insulate them, where he couldn't fill in around the windows because it was plaster, because he didn't have anybody that knew how to do it on his crew, I made him do crown molding around the tops of them. Him and I went 'round and 'round about the windows. He should have said he wasn't capable of doing the job. And, he lied to me and told me didn't subcontract out, they were all his employees. Then on the siding outside, the subcontractors that he hired did a pretty good job. They really did, but it took them weeks. I mean it probably took 6 weeks overall to do the windows and siding. When it was all over we hated each other. I specified a specific siding that I wanted and windows and he was used to working with more replacement windows where  he would have the company comes out and install them and cheaper siding that was easier to work with. This was more of a rigid siding and it had the wood grains so they had to match it. I knew because I had done my house in MO with them and had a great experience there. I didn't get enough bids, which was the bottom line, before I accepted his bid. He was a very personable older man and I thought I wanted to give his company the money. I knew he had been faster at the time and all this stuff, but he was horrible to work with. He has to be dead. His son has to be doing this now. That was 13 years ago and he had some type of cancer and was in treatment. He was old then. He was in his 60's then. Maybe it's improved, but my experience with horrible and I would not recommend them to anybody.

    Remmey Insurance Adjustment Company
Dave represented me extremely well in front of the insurance company's adjuster, and if he had not been present, I'm certain the insurance company would not have recognized the extent of the damage to my house that Dave pointed out to them and had them acknowledge.

    Mr. Roof Pro llc
Paid in advance and selected dates available as per Angies List special. Contractor never called after purchase. I called them after a week and they claimed they were having email problems with Angies list. Scheduled appt with provider directly. Morning of appt, repairman called and left message they would not be coming. They didn't follow up to reschedule, I again had to call them to reschedule. Contractor called day of and asked to come out earlier. I agreed. Spent approx 20 min hammering on exposed nails on roof. Said he didn't see anywhere leak could be so maybe it may be from exposed nails. 2 weeks later, leak is not fixed.

    Arch General Contracting
Excellent from day one. As soon as we met Jacob we knew we were going to hire him. His professionalism and knowledge surpasses any other contractor we spoke with. His quote was broken down in sections with the price for each section of the job. All the other contractors have a quote with the basics of what would be done and just the overall cost. The job was started when promised, all inspections were approved on the first visit with inspectors praising their work. They are polite, professional and do not mind at all being interrupted in their work if we had a question. We are so impressed with Jacob and Ali and their team that I just had to write this review even though we just went through the 1st inspections. I will write more praises as work is completed. If you are looking for any work done on your home call Arch. You will not be disappointed you will be impressed.

    EJT Custom Xteriors

Ed served as both the GC on the project, and primary contractor on our home.  EJT directly provided the roofing, siding, windows and finish work, while contracting various other services, such as plumbing, electrical, painting, etc..  Ed was in constant contact with us.  He was on-site everyday of the project, and continuously kept us up to the minute on the status of our home.  He both started on time, and finished on schedule. Re-building one's entire home can be extremely stressful, especially when you have to move out of our home like we did.  Not once did the stress originate from Ed.  In fact, quite often it was Ed who helped us work through our issues when we felt overwhelmed with all of our decisions.  For Ed, no issue was insignificant.  Whether it was as big as the color and style of our siding or as small as a fixture for a spare bathroom, Ed was there for us..  I know this sounds way over the top, but he honestly was this good.  We were, and continue to be, blown away by the home Ed built for us.  We now live in our dream home, thanks to Ed and EJT.

    AOK Handyman Services LLC
They were very nice people. They were very chatty. They did an okay job but it wasn't high quality work. I didn't think their craftsmanship was an "A", it was more a "B-". I used them twice so they must have been all right. The outside work was $1,800 and the inside work was $700. I think I would do a little more research and hunt for somebody else in the future.

    Foulke Construction Group
They were really good to work with on the quote process. We were impressed with the company but what they proposed to do was something that we decided not to do as we went with some other company. They were excellent during the quote process because they really put a lot of time into it. They took their time, discussed it with us, they got our feedback. We liked the company. If we were going to do siding then they would be the first company that I would go with but right now we decided to keep it painted.

New Roof was nicely done.  Then, we were sold new siding.  The house needed a paint job, so we figured why not and based on the work on the roof, we thought okay.  While pricing the new siding we were also priced a new entry door (seperately), which failed to materialize.  The new door was left to the end and then we had to bug the owner about it getting it.  He finally called about two weeks later with a best price for a door twice what we were quoted ($2000 vs about $800).  We told him to forget it. The new shutters were also quoted about half what they ended up being ($35 a pair vs  about $70 a pair).  The siding job itself was just okay.  Some seaming in weird places.  Also quite a bit of smudges on the siding that needed cleaning.  There were scraps of siding left all over the property and wires hanging lose.  The guys doing the siding also fought and yelled at each other all day while working.  Personally, didn't really care about that but some people might.
