Woodworking reviews in Haddon Heights

John and Matt arrived at the job site early. The company is responsive to communication/emails. Scheduling was prompt, as was an estimate.
We contacted Platinum to do wallpapering for a wall that had wood paneling. They provided us with an estimate for $500, which we agreed on. We sent pictures to John/Chrissy to let them know what the walls looked like. And, they agreed to take the job.
We had let them know that we did not want the wallpaper painted based on the reviews of other buyers who had purchased the same wallpaper (and indicated that the quality and color of the wallpaper worked well without needing paint).  They pushed for it, but was fine with it in the end.
John and Matt came to the house. They first met with my husband. I arrived home shortly after (about 5 minutes). We discussed what needed to be done. The description of the job work request (as indicated on the invoice) included and QUOTE "All surfaces to be sanded, caulked, primed, spackled & glazed as needed."
There were edges along the wall that needed to be spackled to make the edges even. When John saw this, he was not proactive in offering suggestions on how to address the issue and I felt, seemed to undermine my comments. I felt his responses were very terse, to the point of rudeness. He then asked about the spaces between the panels and how that should be addressed. I replied that it should be caulked as was done by the previous owners (or spackled), and was a bit surprised at his question because as a professional wallpaper hanger and given the fact that I had provided up-close pictures of the paneling, he would know how to best address the spacing. That was the reason we hired them. The spacing between the panels was something that he was already aware of through our correspondence.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when he extended the same attitude in a conversation about areas where the wood panel wall met the ceiling and an adjacent wall. My understanding was that there are preparations that are included in hanging wall paper - hence their quote "All surfaces to be sanded, caulked, primed, spackled & glazed as needed" that was on the invoice estimate.
He said, "All I do is wall paper."  I then communicated to him that perhaps they were not the best fit for this job and that I felt he was being rude. He acknowledged that his comments were sarcastic, and something about knowing that this was going to happen right when he arrived at our house. Not sure what he meant by that or how he "knew."
The room where we needed wallpaper to be hung was cold because our home has three levels of zone heating. We didn't use the upstairs level/room where the wallpaper needed to be hung and thus had only turned on the heating on the main floor. We did not realize that the room needed to be warmed up for wallpaper. Had we known or was informed beforehand, we would have made sure to turn on the heating. When John mentioned that it needed to be warm, we promptly turned on the heating.
All in all, what turned us off was his lack of professionalism in his terse comments. I am glad to have made the gut decision to NOT go forward with Platinum. It didn't seem to be a fit for either side.

Joey and his team showed up early, took care of everything in less time than was estimated and got the job done right on budget.  I can't recommend his team more, they did a great job and were consummate professionals.

Contractor was meticulous in determining details of the job, reviewed them in person and spelled them out in the contract. Contractor took the initative to identify other areas that could use touch-ups and addressed those issues independently. Work began and ended on schedule, quality of the work was excellent, cost was very reasonable (included labor and materials).

I feel like I live in a $2 million home. Words can't describe how good the bathrooms look. It was so wonderful. I was so pleased with the first bathroom remodel that I asked him to do the second one. The quoted price was exactly what it ended up being. He put plastic up so I didn't have a bunch of dust in my house which was really nice.

JMJ Construction does excellent work at fair prices. The JMJ crew started promptly at 8:30am on Saturday morning. Jim and his crew stayed until approximately 8:30pm to make sure the job was finished. Jim is an honest man who actually charged me less than his estimate!!! This is the second time I have used JMJ. Approximately 2 years ago, JMJ completely remodeled our powder room downstairs. I would not hesitate to recommend JMJ's services.

Everything was perfectly done just like the bathroom that he did for me. I am going to have him back out in April to fix up another bathroom for me. I would recommend him to anyone. I am very very satisfied with this company.

Mr. Torres was accurate and honest with his appraisal and time-frame for when he could do the job. Before the job started he offered to go to the home improvement store with us and give opinions if we needed help picking out flooring, etc. We took him up on this offer and he was very knowledgeable, able to give the pros and cons of many products. The job was started on time and the work was of the highest quality. We really felt he took the appropriate amount of time for each part of the job and no corners were cut. The job was finished in the time-frame given. I would highly recommend Mr. Torres and plan to use him again.
