    Select Basement Waterproofing Inc
We went with Select Basement because of all the in-person quotes we received, their sales rep came across as being the most honest & sincere as opposed to the other companies' obnoxious sales reps.   He made himself available to answer all of our concerns/questions even when we would call him various times throughout the entire day.  The team worked tirelessly for 2 days straight & they were very pleasant and professional.  They also covered the upstairs entrance way with plastic to reduce dirt and dust. The crew supervisor was equally attentive in answering all of our questions. They worked efficiently & performed a huge job in a relatively short span of time.
We do wish that we would've been better informed of what to expect regarding the digging of the trench around the water heater & furnace, and carefully explained what our options were beforehand.  This particular finished area looks bad, like a jagged semi-circle around the utilities with deep cracks through to the concrete and 3 inches of gray plastic sticking up from the floor. Had we known this prior, we would've opted for the upgrade of a square grate system around the utilities.  We spoke to them about our concern and our only option to change this was to pay another $800 to reopen the trench.  For the amount of $$ already spent, we feel that we shouldn't have been left uncomfortable with any part of the job.  Also it was noticed after installation that one backup battery pump's discharge pipe was run way too long for only a 1/4 HP pump in which case the pump would not have been able to push the water the distance of the basement in the event of an emergency.  Thankfully the issue was caught & immediately rectified.
We recommend Select to potential costumers but advise them to make sure that they explain to you what the finished outcome will look like in painstaking detail for the entire perimeter of your basement & if they say anything that concerns you, ask what your options are & do this before they start drilling. Also keep in mind the lifetime warranty is only for the system (french drain trench/pipes, etc) and not the actual pumps.

Ben and his partner were exceptionally polite, reliable and honest.  They arrived exactly when they said they would both times, and Ben always answered my calls or emails promptly.  The price Ben quoted me for the repairs was very good.  He is clearly 100% committed to customer satisfaction.

    GREENFIELD CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Project Result: Excellent - far exceeded expectations.

Frank Fasolo arrived early for our appt for an estimate.  We discussed the nature of the project: to remove all visible traces of the inground koi pond - bring all of the area (which included a raised garden bed) to grade.  He gave me a ball park estimate of the cost and said the project would take about 3 days to complete.  He followed up with an email outlining what we discussed.
I made my decision to use Greenfield and emailed Frank.  We negotiated a bit,  made the date for the job to begin and the rest is history.
Frank arrived with his worker on a Saturday morning with two jack hammers and immediately began working.  The process he outlined worked flawlessly.  He knew exactly where to start. The cement walls of the pond were on average about 1'6" thick and the depth at its lowest is 4'6".  He started with the "hardest first" and proceeded around the pond where the structure changed to an all tiled platform, raised garden bed and a waterfall. The objective was to bring down the pond to grade (1'6") and then another 1-2 feet below grade to be filled with topsoil.  The debris was to be left in the pond.
There were a few unknowns that popped up - one example:  We knew that there was 'some' rebar but not to the extent we found once the work began.  We knew that there was a 275 gallon plastic drum filled with lava rock (for filtration) buried under the waterfall.  What we didn't know was that it was caged in steel and rebar!!  Unearthing the drum was probably one of the hardest parts of the project.  The steel/rebar was removed, the drum was cut to fold down on itself and then covered with debris.  The project did take 3 days to complete.
The final result is a beautifully restored area of my backyard that is now suitable for planting or a patio or a stone grill or nothing at all.  By the way the clean-up was better than the way it looked before the demolition.
Frank demonstrated great skill, experience and professionalism.  He was on site throughout the project and worked along side of his worker.
I almost forgot - Frank not only laid and compacted the topsoil - he voluntarily fenced in the area so that my dogs wouldn't be able to dig in the dirt.
Greenfield deserves accolades for a job well done by an expert. Thanks a million Frank.  I'll see you soon to pave the walkway (once I find the bricks). :-)
