Interior Painting reviews in Guttenberg

  • The team from Precision did an incredible job! They did everything from exterior deck work (repairs, replacement of rotted wood and new sealing stain), to gutting our bathrooms and kitchen for a brand new look, to installing amazing new hardwood floors (perfectly!) to fixing all the small cracks in our plaster walls, before repainting them! They even rebuilt our interior entry stairs from the ground up. They are pros, have competitive pricing and completed the job on time and on budget. A+ for the entire team. Highly recommended.

  • My bathroom is in a brownstone apt that is over 100 years old, with original plumbing and plaster. It was in very bad shape, with crooked walls, and is very tiny. I got estimates from 3 contractors on Angies List. I chose J&B Renovations because the contactor gave the most thorough review of the condition of my bathroom. Rather than just throwing out a number, he gave me suggestions, options, and pointed out possible scenarious. He seemed very interested in getting the job done right, as well as getting it done in a timely manner. He visited twice before giving me an estimate based on my preferences. He coordinated with my plumber and electrician to pull the proper permits, and the demo began. There were challenges to the renovation the first day. The demo revealed ancient plumbing issues (in the common area of the building) that had to be dealt with, as well as electrical issues dating back to when the gas lighting was converted to electricity. This delayed Eduardo by more than 2 weeks, but he was patient and helpful all along the way. When we finally got to the asthetics of finishing the bathroom, Eduardo was patient and flexible. At heart, he is a perfectionist, and if something can be improved, he goes for it. And if something won't work, he patiently explains why not. For a little extra, he custom sized a shower cubby and added soundproofing insulation in the interior walls. (I HIGHLY recommend the soundproofing if your apartment is small. It is works out great when one has to get up early and the other is still sleeping) His tile work is exeptional. He gave alot of thought about the best way to lay the tile out. There are alot of corners and edges in my tiny bathroom, and he worked them all out beautifully. He also solved the problem of tiling around a window that was not centered on the wall. Visually, everything looks balanced. Two of my neighbors have inspected my bathroom and plan to use J&B Renovations for their own renovations. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them again for my kitchen.

  • Triangle's as a company have been extremely instrumental in helping me paint (literally) my first dream home. This was my first purchase and they've left me proud. Great leadership and an eye for details. They will be your trusted partners no matter what your requirements might be. Extremely friendly and very real. They value relationships over anything else. Such traits are quintessential in such a process. A process that is close to everybody's heart as it's not just a house but a home. They helped me explain all the nuances (incl. the lingo/nomenclature) pertaining to painting/repairs. I don't think anybody else would have been as patient as he was in the entire process. I would recommend them to anybody in a heartbeat. Great team!!

  • I would give a B+ overall grade, but Angie's doesn't offer that. I want to first level set what I think an A is and why it's a B+. I would give an A if everything went perfectly based on my initial expectation. B is they met most of my expectation, and the ones that weren't met, are probably not end of the world issues. C is they just got the bare-bones job done and can check off the checkbox to say they were done. Anything below that is a failure. First, I would start with the sales process. Although they claim they are a no pressure sales org, I would say that is probably technically correct, although not entirely true. The sales guys were nice enough, but you def got a sales vibe from them where they were trying to make the sale (maybe I'm just naturally sensitive to sales ppl). They were responsive to any follow up question I had on the SOW. They provided estimates on when the work would start and end, which I didn't believe since this is not my first time to the dance. Their head construction guy (Paul) came over a few days later to measure out my place, and this guy was fantastic. You could tell he knew what he was talking about and knew what he was doing. I asked about start date, and he let me know the original one was not gonna happen. I'm glad I asked him; however, in my opinion someone should have notified me about this instead of me having to pull this information out of them. Either way I had already set my own expectation, so even though I was annoyed, it wasn't any deal breaker. Just note that whatever estimate you get will probably not be *exactly* right (things happen, but unfortunately in this modern day and age that is an unfortunately reality with all contractors in all industries). Once they started work, Tylor was my Project Manager, and he was also a great guy to work with. He was able to give me the info that I needed, without boring me with all the nitty gritty details. He had people onsite pretty much every day (this was around the holiday season, so I understood people had vacation). The work spanned demoing my kitchen, installing appliances, floors, baseboards, bathroom shower, tiles, vanity install, medicine cabinet install, plumbing, electrical (the guy was even able to snake an additional line from my circuit box to my kitchen), painting, coordinating with my building super & staff (I live in a coop building so there are things like water shut-offs that need to be managed). Overall, everything was great. The few things I think could have been better (and I think this is really mostly feedback to Paragon): 1) Shower floor does not fully slope down to the drain, there is a local minimum in which water sits in and I have to manually push it to the drain. Really annoying after each shower. 2) The shower door is not as level as it should be. 3) I don't think my flooring should have been installed under my kitchen cabinets. After discussing this point with others after the fact, the floors expand and contract with humidity, so they have no room to "breathe" and may cause stress else where. 4) I specified in the contract that electrical outlets should have been installed to NEC spec (i.e. the ground plug on top). They were not :/. With all that said, I would totally recommend Paragon and would use their services again myself. I waited a full year to write the review so as to give their work some time to settle in, and it has done so just fine.

  • Rob is an amazing professional - he did an incredible job painting everything and went above and beyond. His work is impeccable and neat. He gave suggestions of what colors or print of wallpaper would look nice, go with the dimensions in each room, and executed my vision perfectly!! I'm would hire him in a heartbeat again!!

  • NJ Water and Mold provided services that made a nightmare situation disappear. The unit suffered major water damage that required dry out services and a complete restoration. The team at NJ Water and Mold provided immediate service and took steps to avoid further problems. After contacting my insurance company, NJ Water and Mold worked with us to provide estimates and a superb project plan to perform the restoration project. The team worked around our schedule to minimize any inconvenience and they performed AMAZING work.

  • Awesome! Easy to request service online, very quick, and professional. Everyone was super responsive from start to finish. Rafael, the foreman, was friendly and kept me informed all along. The price was unbeatable! I had two painters cancel on me before calling them - it was a blessing in disguise! Paintzen beat their prices and were way easier to work with. Will recommend to all of my friends and family!

  • It went very well. Jan is exceptional. He really cares about his customers and goes the extra step to make them happy. He is also very quick. Jan made the remodel a painless process for which my wife and I are very thankful. There's a lot that happens behind the scenes outside of picking the tiles, appliances and paints. Jan took care of all of it. Jan delivers excellent quality at an affordable price. We highly recommend him and will definitely be working with him again in the fall.

  • Avoid this company. Carlos is a dishonest and unprofessional person. He was hired after I found him on thumbtack. He has filed bankruptcy with other groups before because he has a tendency to not be insured, and owe money for past disgruntled clients. I was a sucker to pay him a lot upfront, which he used to pay back others. At this point it seems like almost a Ponzi scheme. He knows the laws so he takes advantage of the fact that most people will not or cannot sue him for anything beyond small claims court, of which he goes into bankruptcy to avoid as well. He left my apartment with unfinished flooring and many loose ends. He is in a spiral because he had an insurance lapse on a job after mine and owed them 35k cash. Every job right now is to pay them off so he is taking more jobs than he can handle, asking for money as much possible, and delaying times for work. This review is barely scratching the surface of the misery he brings with him. I can give more details but I'm sure it isn't necessary. Ask around about the Hudson Club flooding. That was him. Don't fall for his profile photos with his daughter, his wife left him and took the kids because clients he tried to run away from, tracked him down and demanded payment; his wife couldn't handle being with a pathological liar and the faces of all these people whose lives he has ruined with his lies. He might come off like he can get work done, but he has no experience doing quality work. Believe me, he did a poor job and has no skills. His main employee is an alcoholic uncle named Luis who is more of a diva than a professional construction worker. He shows up at the site reeking of alcohol and often times doesn't show up, which holds up work. They definitely don't know how to do flooring. I actually lost a friend who I recommended Carlos do a job for, but they screwed up his apartment and demanded money back (which he is now looking for new jobs to funnel money to) that he now resents me. I overpaid and am embarrassed for this hard lesson. There are better guys out there with less drama. Avoid Carlos. You never look for discounts on renovations, especially since he is basically using you to pay off his debts. You might be enticed to gamble and think that you could probably control or manage him better, but he will screw you too. You get what you pay for.

  • SO happy I found Rodrigo (and his dad). A+ across the board. Highly responsive, attention to detail, great care for my possessions. Rodrigo spackled and painted all walls and ceilings. On time, and a great work ethic. Cleaned meticulously at the end of the job. Went back and third-coated several walls where the appearance on two coats was "not up to my standard." Also, several hundred dollars below the five other quotes I had obtained, but I hired him more for the impression I received when he came to look at the job.
