Door Installation reviews in Franklin Lakes

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Andrew and his crew were great. There were no surprises. Estimates for work to be done were given quickly and everything was itemized and easy to read. They installed beautiful interior French doors and incredible crown molding. They removed an over the range microwave and installed a new range hood venting outside. They installed a new faucet and hooked up a refrigerator ice maker to my water supply. They also did a great job painting a master bedroom. I left the crew in the house when I wasn't there with no issues. It was almost like having family working on your house for you. They even accepted some packages for me when I forgot they were being delivered. Communication was great and Andrew had some great cost cutting ideas, too. I plan to have them back in the Spring for more projects.

  • He did a good and quick job but the mirror was ultimately hung a little crooked so we had to fix it ourselves.  In terms of value, I might cut out the middleman and make an effort to find a handyman directly next time.

  • The tech that was sent seemed nice. He started by buying supplies. I basically paid for two hours of shopping. He over bought material and in some cases the wrong material Also the material expense seemed way out of whack to me. I asked for the receipts but I was told that is "their property" Wait aren't I paying for that?? Anyway the provider started 4 projects and finished maybe 1. The sheet rock where the towel bar was was patched better than I can do, but never sanded or painted , the door was adjusted nicely, the weather stripping was never done because the material could not have been more wrong and I refused it. The trim was a bit of a disaster The tech was definitely a good carpenter but was not prepared with the right tools or thinking process to remove the old trim. Damage was caused plus the 1.5 day job was now going to take three days. Obviously I objected Bob the owner came to sweet talk me He agreed with my concerns and offered 4 hours of free epoxy fill and painting. I explained to him that I could have done this cheaper and of better quality if the job had been better thought out but I agreed to the four hours. He is a bit slick as he said twice Yes free 4 hours but I would pay for an additional 4 hours. I agreed because u basically don't have the time to deal with the nonsense . The "amazing painter " came yesterday. I have never seen worse work. He completed in 4 hours what I could have slapped on in one hour. He didn't fill nail holes , I see flashing where I should not have because we discussed starting and ending on full boards , the epoxy works was awful. Sanded to a lumpy mess then painted. I hired someone so I did not have to deal with this. I called them up last night and asked them not to come back but no. They spent another 2 hrs trying to make it right. I appreciate that but I was clear. U failed to do a decent job in 4 hrs please leave. Well they didn't. They fixed two pieces of trim as far as I can tell (and not well ) and left a bill for 774 bucks in the sub total The total was zero and they wrote in the side "good will". They also wrote that they repaired "as best as possible ". More like the best of the ability . Good will???? I asked that they didn't come back so not to go over the free 4 hour debacle They spend another 2 hrs doing almost nothing then throw in my face good will ?? I paid these knuckle heads almost 3k for 1500 in work. This is what I got.: Trim that still needs to be repaired and properly painted, weather stripping not replaced , a repaired hole where the towel bar was but no sanding or painting and no towel bar, a door they did adjust and some spotlights light bulbs replaced Bottom line is that I am an idiot to think I can hire 100 buck (seems high right?)an hour handy men and get quality work. If u need basic stuff done I am sure they can handle it but most people don't need to spend 100 bucks an hour to have light bulbs changed. I have never written a review good or bad but bobs arrogance was a bit much for me and 3k later I am left involved in properly finishing everything they started.

  • I did not use this service as I needed help with the replacement (if necessary ONLY!) my front door.

I am not sure we can salvage one of the double doors at this time.  I want an expert to tell me if I need

to replace both the doors or can save one and replace the other.  I still need this help
