Maurizio is just an amazing person.  He finished the work within the time frame that he had mentioned and kept us in the loop as to the progress.  We really recommend Pepe Paving and look forward to recommending him to all our friends.

We selected Paragon based on price, the specs and turnaround time.  Regarding price, they came in about 30% lower than other competing bids and included a nice allowance for pavers under the deck.  They also ended up adding a footing not included in the plans and a custom gate at the top of the stairs at their expense.  Lastly, they removed an eye-sore left behind by the previous contractor, which included a pallet of unusable concrete (very hard to remove).

This became a challenging project for both us, the homeowners, and Paragon.  The site conditions were poor due to a high water table and given the competitive price Paragon gave us it was hard for them to allocate more expensive resources in terms of manpower and equipment.  Despite about a 10% cost overrun, which we agreed was reasonable and a time overrun of a few months, in part due to the heavy winter, we are now very happy and satisfied with a beautiful deck.  Throughout the project, Paragon was responsive despite a few personnel changes in the project team assigned to our deck.  We encountered some difficulties along the way, as was expected; however, Tom, the owner, was accessible in times of need and always kept his word.

Overall, we think Paragon provided excellent value though we had hoped the project had been completed sooner.

I have a full description of events listed under Afton Crest Pools and Landscaping, currently based in Short Hills, NJ.
I have a full description of events listed under Tapestry & Associates, LLC, which used to be based in Belle Mead, NJ.
I am writing this because I do not feel this fraudulent business practice should be ignored.  I would like others to avoid the troubles I have had with this contractor, and avoid having their money and time stolen.

My goal is to warn the public against this man, Dennis Sparano's future companies.  I am not permitted to post for the Philadelphia area, apparently, but this man typically claims to serve a very large area that spans NJ and NY at times.  I think that the Ivy garden, which is located in Skillman according to the information I can get from PeopleSmart ( I had to look up Dennis Sparano in order to get documentation of his birthdate, so I could write to the five branches of the military for proof that he is not in active duty in order to get a default judgement against him) , is only served by your Angies list from Philadelphia's area.
If I cannot post my warning to the public about the Ivy garden in Skillman (his website claims its in Princeton) without a Philadelphia Angie's list membership, please let me know, and I will look into joining.  But it is the same exact man doing the same thing in various areas.  I think that it is important that he not be allowed to repeat his business model over and over.  He has been removed from the NJ Landscaper Contractor Association in 2010, you can ask Jody Shillan, the president, he wrote me that Sparano was removed for unfair business practices.
Please do not hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions.  As I have said, I can back up any claim I have posted with documentation.
    Thank you,
    Mayumi Mori

This man is capable of doing a nice job, and he seems meticulous and speaks well.  He can market himself well.  Be forwarned.  I trusted him, because he acted well in the first few jobs, and he essentially robbed me (after a difficult several months with the place looking a mess).
I want to warn the public against hiring Dennis Sparano (Jr.) in any capacity. He works as a landscaper, contractor, and now a pool contractor.  He owes me 2K, not to mention recompense for the 18 dead trees.
I complained to the NJ Landscape Contractor Association, and they said that he was removed from their Board in 2010 because of multiple complaints against his business practice.  He tends to change companies every two years or so.
I am filing complaints with the State and the Court system.  I have everything documented.  I am trying to spare anyone from going through this mess.
