    AJT Complete Construction LLC
After a few estimates, I went with AJT. If I could rate this company higher, I would have. They were very skilled, professional, respectful in every way and treated my home as if it were their own. Always asking my opinion and permission for anything in case it may have inconvenienced me or my family in any way. Despite an unpleasant and unexpected foundation surprise, Mike handled it quickly and as cost-efficient as he could and always reassured me that everything would be okay, which was comforting since it was totally unexpected. I was very concerned about the color of the foundation wall and basement door; worried that the color they picked would not match up nicely to the existing aluminum siding trim. But I have to say that Brian, who was in charge of selecting the color, did an awesome job it was perfect! To say I was very pleased with this work, is an understatement as their eagerness to please a customer while delivering the best possible work product, appeared to be their top priority at all times. Arten, was also a lifesaver when I asked him if he could do me the favor of changing out a few blown flood light bulbs when I told him I didnt have a ladder high enough to do it myself. Not something earth shattering, but also not something they really had to do for me, but he was happy to do it. Worthy of mentioning is that although the owners werent always at the job site, they were always only 1 phone call or text away if I needed them and I was happy to see Moose stop by to make sure everything was going well and to address any questions or concerns that I may have had and quickly took care of them. This crew didnt leave my home until everything was cleaned up and that they were sure that I was completely satisfied with all of the work done. They also left behind leftover paint in case I needed it for touch-ups in the future. From experience, I can tell you that not all companies bother or are as thorough and not sure they even care and AJT did. Mike, Moose, Arten, Miguel, Chepe, Kevin and Brian, thank you for the amazing work you did for us and because of this very positive experience, I would definitely choose you as my masonry go-to specialists in the future. Thanks again everyone.

    AAA Apex Construction Company
The work was never performed. He was punctual, seemed very nice and helpful. He gave me a few suggestions as well as a verbal estimate which I found was a little high. I asked him to provide a written estimate and email it to me in the next day or so. That was almost a week ago. Despite emailing the company asking for the estimate and giving them the benefit of the doubt in case they email address was jotted down incorrectly and to avoid giving this company an unfair review, I still got nothing. Not even a response to my email here. If this is an indication of how this company does business, I'd prefer to give the job to another more worthy professional.

    BASEMENT WATERPROOFING
Anthony was great -- very thorough and detailed in his explanations even bringing pictures of company's work as well as samples of materials they would use. After obtaining several estimates on this job, I decided to go with another company because out of 4 estimates done only this company suggested the work be done inside to manage the problem, where all others suggested external repairs to attempt to fix the problem. The external repair was within my budget and also addressed the problem aesthetically, improving the look of the foundation from the outside. I also received an estimate for the replacement of the basement door and this company's estimate was higher. Others were willing to give a substantial discount if we also did the initial exterior job. I would definitely consider this company again for other work however. Very professional.

    National Home Improvements
Ralph and his team from National Home Improvements did an excellent job on my family's home. Remodeled the basement from top to bottom . They are real professional and the clean up was well maintained. We were very happy with National Home Improvements and would use them again for any future projects.

    Effective Basement Solutions
Used Angie's list Big Deal for the pump. The rest was done because no water remediation had ever been installed in my basement. Once date was set, three men came to install pump. They were pleasant and efficient. Offered guarantees on work.

    BVL Property Restoration LLC
He did not confirm whether he was coming on that date of service we called him several times then he confirmed he was indeed on schedule. He had someone else assist him which was ok if he would have supervised the quality of the work. I did not immediately check his work but noticed that the cement was smeared everywhere and was not cleaned as it should have around the edges it looked like my kids cemented the yard. I bought this to his attention after about 1 week ( hubby and I work very long hours) and he seemed annoyed and blamed me for not calling sooner however if that was his handyman he should have been supervising him when they did the job. He said he would call back and never did (of course not he already was paid) Not very professional !!

we  recently had a severe rain storm in elizabeth new jersey  actually had over five inches of rain causing  flooding  in our basement.consulted angies list and found favorable ratings for bvl company.   called bvl arranged for an appointment.  ben  the company  came surveyed  the basement and gave me  an estimate.  his estimate was completive  with others and after careful review, i chose bvl.   we both agreed on a date, he arrived at the appointed time, installed a french drain and assured me that the problem of flooding has been solved.   his work was done professionally without any hitches.

    Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of NJ
Midatlantic always does 3 things: 1) They come when they say they will 2) they do what they say they will and 3) They clean up as if they were never there. While this was a smaller project, it was the same when they did our entire waterproofing project in 2007. And Kellie and Dan are very professional to deal with over the phone.

I have seen the other comments out of curiosity, and some complain about the pricing. They are not the cheapest option, but they are the best.....and you get what you pay for . Would you not want the best for something as important as waterproofing your basement?

    Dema Construction and Waterproofing
Lucien came to my house in the beginning of July and gave me an estimate for a french drain with 1 sump pump and vapor barrier around the basement. I had several companies come around but I liked the way Lucien presented the business and decided to go with them. I signed a contract and requested that the work be done prior to the 15th of August.
The office called me again at the end of July to confirm that the work would still be done by the 15th of August.
I received a call on 8/1 from Gina telling me that they wanted to stop by again to look at the basement to make sure everything was prepared for the work to be done. She also said that she needed a copy of the proposal that I had received. They came by, measured the place again, then when I gave them the proposal I had received I was told that the work couldn't be done for that price, but instead they wanted 11 thousand to complete the work, when all they had to do was the french drain. I was removing the walls and tile!!!!!
They told me Lucien gave wrong estimates to customers and that he was fired for it. I told them that wasn't my fault, especially because they had the whole month of July to discuss this with me and they had the opportunity several times. They also said that Lucien didn't give them anything prior to leaving the company.
They told me I could give them a price I was willing to pay and I told them that they were the ones breaking the contract that had already been signed so it was their responsibility to give me a fair price, not the other way around.
They them told me that my current sump pump is illegal. Mind you they didn't even open it so I don't know how they would know that for sure, besides 1) what did that have to do with them violating our contract? 2) several plumbers had worked on my sump pump and never informed me of it being set up wrong at all.
As far as I know Lucien and the owner are family so I don't see how he wouldn't give the owner the proposal, let alone the contract, and Lucien had obtained approval prior to sending me the contract.
They are very unprofessional and they will not even respect a contract that we had.

    Vulcan Basement Waterproofing
The team arrived in a timely manner on the day scheduled. I was told to have everything moved to the center of the floor. The sales rep told me that the guys would not have a problem disconnecting and moving the washer and dryer but when they arrived they told me I had to move them. After some discussion, they moved them for me. After the system was installed, we did have a lot of rain. The basement remained dry then I noticed a leak coming from the discharge pipe of the sump pump. As the rain continued, more and more water began to leak out onto the floor. I called the company the next day and they came out and resealed the pipe. I also noticed a lot of debris in the sump pit and I had them to come back and clean it. They came out quicker for the leak than for the debris in the pit.
