CI made an appointment on 7/11/2019 to see the doctor for pain I am experiencing in my lower back. I had a surgery about 3 months back and discovered a lump above the incision sight which is causing me pain and numbness. When I arrived to the office the girl working in check-in and billing announced to the entire waiting room that I may not be able to be seen. This was due to the fact I did not bring the Horizon checks with me. I was in a hurry to make it to the appointment 20 minutes away and left them on the kitchen counter. When I offered to bring the checks in to them on 7/12/2019, I was told by billing that the doctor stated he would need me to reschedule my appointment until I was able to bring the checks with me. I was denied care and not treated in a professional manner because I did not bring the checks with me!! I spoke with his nurse on the phone and she stated that billing said I wanted to reschedule, which was not true. I feel that the staff treated me unprofessionally and should be trained better on how to speak to patients. Back in the day the checks would have never been an issue and patient care would have come first, but now it seems as the years go on it's more about the money. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the office and will be mailing the checks in.

AOver the past several years Physical Therapy Center of excellence (PTCOE) has repeatedly provided me with a outstanding physical therapy for multiple issues. They are truly "a cut above the rest" compared to other PT Groups I've dealt with in the past. The culture of this organization, is one of inclusiveness where the Therapist truly listen and educate the patient; hence, a team is formed to facilitate the best possible outcome on the healing process. I highly recommend PTCOE to anyone who is looking for an outstanding PT Group which is lead by Rick Richardson, the backbone of this culture/excellence in physical therapy. Rose T.

BDoctor was good and competent. Wait times are a little high even first thing in the morning. Would help if x-ray appointments are set up prior to the appointment to reduce duplicate wait times. Had to wait to get the x-ray order, then wait again to get the x-ray and then a last time for the doctor. This happened for two visits. Not sure this is worse than any other place I would go to but an improved process would help everyone.

FInsurance Fraud. He sucked me into services saying my Insurance will pay for it. He never submitted the claims to my insurance. Then He sued me for 18 visits for a total of $5,600. Services were inferior and the office personnel were terrible. This review is provided by Louisa Gormley a 75 year old retired person.

AHe is wonderful. He explained everything. He explained it in a way that it was easy to understand. He also showed pictures of the surgery. My husbands back injury was so serious that he suggested that he would go to a pain management center.

BThe office and billing leave something to be desired though ... Hopefully they've improved! My ankle is another matter..first dr no longer takes medicare. I am looking for another opinion at another office before deciding on where to go for the surgery. The office personnel seemed very "officious". At 1 point the woman at the desk hollered out to me so the entire waiting room could hear "u cant see the dr until u pay your bill". I went over and asked her "what bill?" She said it was mailed out "yesterday". Of course i hadnt received it and was totally embarrasssed. She insisted i pay immediately..i had $20 for copay in my pocket for the current visit and no check or credit card with me. I did get to see the doctor but it was a very unpleasant office experience and totally unnecessary..and i think the bill was for about $8 after my coinsurance had paid their share.

AHospital for Special SurgeryNursing staff and PA's were beyond excellent. Everyone was nice. The aids varied. Some aids were superior in work ethic and quality of care and some just ok - but none were bad. PT was good with exercises, walking and stairs, but I wasn't really ready to go home to get in and out of bed - PT didn't focus on that at all really and has been really problematical at home. The Education Seminar really didn't prepare enough for challenges of going home after surgery - so that the home could be prepared. As for after surgery it focused on exercises, socks, commodes, and reaching yes. Unfortunately Sleeping needs sitting and laying down needs not focused on enough, other than the purchase of a cushion and toilet seat. The idea of having the education seminar was great, just could help more with the 24 our issues of sleeping or sitting. Hospital was absolutely immaculate. One person was nicer than the next. Not a mean person among the hospital staff I encountered bed side. They did a great job with pain management, with the exception when nurses had to line up to get medicine disbursed, and when a nurse from another floor who was working my floor had to get permission from a superior who was not immediately available, to get meds - the meds were unnecessarily delayed and pain increased. Thee were many exceptional nurses, I'd like to give a shout out to Colleen and to Whitney who were beyond exceptional.- Seena A.

AWayne Altman MDIf you go on Yelp, there are negative reviews, and it is not true, I have gone to this guy for years. I think people go in and whine a lot. It is not fair. There is nothing that I don't like about him. He took care of my kid when he was in football and broken in bits and pieces, and I needed to have a knee replacement. He doesn't have a good bedside manner, but he is a great doctor. Whenever I have wanted to see him, I have been able to see him within a week, or immediately for an emergency. The wait time is just 10 minutes of your appointed time.- Janet T.

AEnglewood Orthopedic AssociatesDr. Salob performed knee reconstruction on me in September 2013. He is THE best knee doctor I know. That surgery was the second time I've had reconstructive surgery on my knee. 12 weeks after surgery I was back on the treadmill and now I had 100% of my range of motion back. I'd go so far as to say that my knee is better than it was after the first surgery. He's amazing. I won't go to anyone else for my knee issues, but I have a feeling I won't have to go back to him unless I destroy my knee again.- Shannon S.

AHunterdon Orthopedic InstituteFor more than a decade, I have seen and been treated by many of the professionals in this practice. I don't consider myself the and quot;normaland quot; patient and ask many many many questions and expect miraculous results. I've been very happy with the results of various procedures, mostly related to cartilage, tendon and osteoarthritis issues. These include carpal tunnel, knee surgeries and replacements, hip replacement, shoulder surgery and back issues. I’ve been told which issues may not be treatable or what shouldn’t be done and what not to expect and I respect and appreciate the honesty. Drs P******, Glassner, Decker, St. John, and Salam are knowledgeable, down to earth, up front and patient. My quality of life is better due to the restoration of mobility and elimination of major pain thanks to these wonderful people.- Bob S.

AACTIVE ORTHOPAEDICS & SPORTS MEDICINE PAI started developing stiffness and knee pain in one of my knees. Quick X-ray showed some arthritis. Dr. Vasquez suggested viscosupplementation injections, which he performed in three week intervals. Did not have too much effect, so they scheduled MRI. He took time to discuss results and suggested some minor surgery that might help. I'm considering it but have not committed to it yet. His manner is very clear and gives you the information you need. The staff in the office is very professional and do a lot of follow up. Very pleased with Dr. Oscar Vasquez and the office. Will continue to use them and recommend.- Lawrence F.

AHudson Valley Bone and JointI had had surgery on this knee before for a torn ACL, and when new pain arose, another doctor could not tell from x-rays if the pin in my tibia had worked loose. An MRI failed because the pin was made of steel. Dr. Maddalo within minutes surmised that I had a meniscus tear, and in surgery, which was fast, professional, and remarkably easy, he found that indeed I had not one but two tears. Afterwards, he assigned excellent PT and has followed up very well. I knew I was in good hands from start to finish.- James H.

AHealy III, Dr. WilliamHe is very down to earth and very personable. He gives everything to you straight and does not beat around the bush. These two knee surgeries required a lot of physical therapy and he was able to set all this up for me. The whole office is always very helpful.- Scott D.
