AMagnolia Home Remodeling GroupWe worked with Chris from Magnolia on a second floor remodel and were extremely happy with the process and results. The reno included demolition, framing for new roofline and dormers, roof and gutters, siding, new master bathroom, master closet, laundry space, wood floor and stairs, doors, millwork, tiling, masonry for a chimney extension, windows, and central air system. Chris is a great guy, very easy to work with it, trustworthy, and responsive. He hires skilled subcontractors and kept the reno moving at a good pace. There were no surprises with either the budget or scope of work. Magnolia made our dreams come true with this reno and we would definitely recommend them for your job.- Beth H.

AMagnolia Home Remodeling GroupWe had a three “room” project completed in November 2020: Framing - Removed back wall of house and part of the roof, rebuilt ceiling, installed beam, and rear wall Kitchen/Dining Room - Full gut job….new electrical, insulation, walls, floors, backsplash, appliances, paint, fixtures, etc. Deck - New from scratch. 17x17 with a pressure treated frame and timbertech composite decking, rails, balusters, steps, etc. ...since they were going to be replacing the roof where the new section was built, they also replaced our entire roof. The cost was reasonable relative to what it would’ve been to replace just the smaller portionn of the rebuilt roof. The subcontractors were all very professional and quality was high across the board. Here are the important points: -Communication - Stellar for the entire duration of the project (negotiating, permits, selections, day-to-day, inspections, etc.). Vic was our point person but had another person help when needed (permits, payments, etc.). When I needed something, it was Vic I worked with. We worked almost exclusively by text but got on phone calls when the situation called for it. -Schedule - Before we started the project, Magnolia claimed the project would take 4 months. I believe this would’ve been projected to be 3 months if we weren’t operating in a pandemic but the materials were a concern based on the initial plans the architect drew up. The entire project ended up taking 9 weeks from demo day 1 to the final inspection. Very impressive. -Pricing - Magnolia is not cheap but you’re paying for a contractor that’s experienced and proven in certain areas (e.g. kitchens, roofs, etc.) and has established relationships with the subcontractors they use. -Subcontractors and quality - Kitchen designer was flexible with what we were looking for but we had another kitchen that we used as a near mirror-image of what we wanted. The one thing that may be a concern here is that if you don’t know what you want, there might be a lot of back-and-forth to arrive at a final design. Roofers, tile/paint crew, etc. were all top notch. Overall a great experience. This was a high anxiety experience going in and Vic was professional and kept things moving very quickly and well ahead of schedule.- Anthony D.

BAmerican Home Remodeling IncI don't want this to seem like a negative review because their work and reviews speak for themselves. I am unable to provide an accurate review due to the limitations of the company's ability to do work within condo/apartment buildings. I can't blame them but their insurance company doesn't cover them. So, I guess this is more of a FYI. I am sure this is a great company to partner with for home projects. In our building next to Penn Station is a converted loft that used to be a button factory. Each unit has exposed brick, exposed beam, and exposed duct work which is rare for this area. These are deemed as New York-style lofts. There are 17 units in our building and all are individually owned. There are 14/17 units that are owner-occupied and everyone has their own contractors coming in pretty consistently to upgrade or make changes to their units. It's unfortunate and we looked forward to working with this company. I wish this company continued success and a great 2021. Sorry that your insurance providers wouldn't allow you to work with condo buildings.- Chadwick P.

BAmerican Home Remodeling IncThe end product is nice. My kitchen is very nice and functional and the basement is definitely better with the new door and bilco door. However the estimated timeframe of my project was supposed to be a month and a half however everything was completed within 3 months. There were times where they were not working on my house for weeks. Had to remind them numerous times on things that were not completed. I asked for the detailed listing of expenses that included material cost and labor compared to the budget and never received that.- Jessica S.

AJBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCThis is our second time using JBL home improvement. Dave and the JBL crew are excellent people to work with. They started work right away and Dave kept us informed of possible delays with furnishings due to the Pandemic. He always followed up with the cabinet and granite manufacturers and kept us informed of their progress. The crew was excellent and clean. Everyday they left all work areas clean. They always gave us options and opinions for furnishing placement. We are looking forward to using JBL for our future home renovations.- Joseph C.

AMajor Homes CorpBudd and the teams he had working on our house project were very professional and genuinely nice people. Because of Budds project management skills, the house project was completed in 3 months when other contractors told us it would take 6- 8 months! Budd was very responsive and quickly addressed issues and any problems that arose. We spent a little more than we wanted as there were extras that ended up costing us more but we would hire this company back in a heart beat!- carmelina l.

AI am very happy I went with Conqueror’s. Dan was thorough during the estimation process. He listened to what I wanted and made good suggestions for improving my design. His estimate sheet was also transparent so I understood how my money was being allocated to the project. Once the remodel began the process went quickly. While on premises they were neat and as quiet as possible. Dan consulted with me when he needed to clarify details of what I desired. I chose a modern, simple design so precise detail was key in execution. They delivered on my design and the bathroom exceeded my expectations. When I remodel my next bathroom I will use Conqueror’s again.

AWe needed the playroom in the basement to be refreshed: new floor, windows and paint. We also added a custom closet and had the central AC ducts encased. We had already hired BAS Construction a few years ago to finish part of the basement, and wanted the playroom to match. We were again very pleased with the results. The various crews showed up on time and the work site was kept clean. The work was completed within the promised time frame. Ali and Sina were easy to work with and very professional, from planning the project to completion. They came up with great suggestions. We would highly recommend hiring them.

AGene and his crew did a beautiful job on our new bathroom. They were there every morning on time, responsive to questions via text or email, and kept us aware of their progress as well as what was to come next. The demolition itself knocked a few nails through the walls adjacent to the bathroom but Gene happily fixed it himself. Gene even responded to questions and followed up with us following the job completion to ensure we were pleased.

AGreat experience. Bernie and his team are excellent! The initial consultation with Bernie was smooth. There was no pressure. He quoted a higher price than others I met with, but advised me that he didn't cut corners and that the price quoted would be the price charged. The showroom was what sold me. He had lots of options, allowed me to take my time choosing options and worked with me to accommodate my budget. I really appreciated his patience and attention. The crew showed up on-time every day and worked above and beyond what was expected. The work was completed in two weeks, as promised. Bernie dealt with any changes or issues professionally and promptly. His workers were efficient and experienced. I am very happy with the final product and will be hiring Bernie for my kitchen remodel int he future.
