Alfredo, came and called me on the phone to review my request since I was not physically there. First he said he cannot take the job if it was just the stump removal and a waste of his time if under $700. After coming to a price to get the stump removed and tree trimmed for $800, he mentioned he would do it after the repairs on the house was finished therefore to get clarity, I asked, are you saying I should wait to have you come after the repair or not. He became frustrated over the phone saying he had spent enough time and this was a waste and proceeded to hang up on me. First you suggest something and then hang up when I try to understand what you suggested??? Really??? That was rude for business and we haven't even began to do business. If this is the way they treat their customers then I will find someone else. I called the company once it happened and they said they would find out what occurred and call me back and I am still waiting.

I called BJ's Tree Service and asked them if they take credit cards (its on Angie's List that they take Visa). I was assured they do take a credit card. Since I can only use a company that has current worker's compensation insurance, I asked Frankie 2 times, before the work was started, if they are insured and had current workers compensation. I was told yes each time. I was there the day that BJ's cut the tree branches. After they were finished, I gave one of the owners my Visa card. He told me he refused to take it and told me that he does not take credit cards. I told him that's not what I was told. He told me that he would only take cash or a check. I asked him about the certificate of insurance that shows current worker's compensation. He told me that he would have it sent to me. I received a certificate of insurance only for liability and when I called the insurance agency, I was told the he never had worker's compensation with them. I then called the owner and told him what happened. He just gave me excuses. I told me I had to have the certificate of insurance. After that, he would not answer, or take, my calls. He is receiving an F because he is unethical, deceitful, and a liar.

Tommy started off nicely, as most people do.  He seemed eager to please, friendly, and professional.  But as time went on, we noticed he was hardly present - leaving his workers to do most of the work.  They were pretty punctual, but HE rarely showed up when he said he would as the days went on, which by the way, were MORE days than were projected.  The work was quite pricey, considering he - rather his WORKERS - used pavers that we already had.  His worker, while cutting stone, did NOT use the water feature that reduces stone dust particles from flying airborne.  And, of course, stone dust flew EVERYWHERE - even on neighbors' property, cars, etc.  They even asked for OUR tools on more than one occasion, which I did not mind until they were not being returned to me but rather left on the ground until the next day.  By the end of the job, he was displaying an unprofessional (BAD) attitude ... and we were all glad it was over.  We initially had other work (projects) for Tommy to do, but his LACK of presence on the current job, caused us to seek out other helpers.  And it's a good thing because, as nice as he first was, he seemed to turn on us in the end.

The team arrived on time, checked in and got right to work. As they performed all of the work, they took care to clean up. I was impressed with the level of safety they used, for themselves and my property. As they were working, I added a few more jobs because of my satisfaction with their work; they adjusted the price fairly. Eduardo gave me advice on maintenance, controlling the ivy that was growing rampantly in my front yard, which I appreciated. When completed, we walked the property to assess, they did an excellent job. Clean up removed all of the debris from the giant wood chipper; in the street and sidewalk. They also removed some  branches that had fallen before they got there. All in all, it was a great experience, I will call them to work on more things in about a month.

We got a quote but didn't go with their service as it was too expensive. They were polite and understanding of our budget and suggested alternatives. In the end we went with another provider based on a review from a friend.

They said they would be at my home aroung 11ish and did not show up until after 2pm. The guy came out and did the service and was professional and explained things thoroughly. He was polite and courteous.

Excellent job. Lots of references and pleased customers who I was allowed to speak to in advance and see work that had been done. Team worked well with demo and clean up each day. Completed in a timely fashion. No cutting of corners; A+ job.

Angel responded immediately to a request for an estimate on Fall cleanup. Also discussed snow removal and later, lawn maintenance.
Cleanup was thorough - the best ever. Now snow removal has been as promised: immediate and thorough. Price is reasonable. Expect the same for lawn work.

The price was too much money. I've used them before post hurricane Irene. I can't say that I was thrilled with them because they had to come back and do work. They said they were done and I said there was no way they were done so they came back and cleaned up the work they initially said was finished. They are the city's tree contractor so they came on behalf of the city for part of the tree. I felt where they cut the tree down was advantageous to them and I wasn't happy with the way it worked out. They benefited on the front and back end of it. They do decent work. This experience was not the best experience I’ve had with them. This was a different experience and I can’t say that I was thrilled. They didn’t live up to the expectations I had.  It is questionable if I would use them again.
