    James had already done my family's pool as well as a family friend and we knew he did very high quality work.  We waited until late in the season to get it done and saved ourselves a few $$. We drove him crazy through the process trying to pick the right tile, coping and concrete color and he was accommodating 100% of the time without question. He had the old pool ripped out and a beautiful new pool installed in about 10 days, considering weather etc. His crew was on time and always professional and always put in a hard days work. My wife is a top agent in Monmouth county and James at Fortunato is the ONLY pool builder she will recommend. He does the job right, doesn't cut corners, and makes sure you're happy with the final product. James is great to work with and we can't recommend him enough. It's a family run business that takes great pride in real craftsmanship, which is hard to find these days.  If you're looking to get a high-quality job done right and on time, James is your guy.

    The shape, size and heading of my roofline was not optimal, but Mike Mazzeo/Solar Living found a way to make it work.
    He was professional, neat and got the job done on time.

    I used K&M to close the pool before the winter. Then I used them to open the pool in the spring. After they opened the pool the drain from the filer was leaking. So, I called them to come back and fix it. They came back and a day later it was still leaking. So I called again and they sent someone to fix it again. And it was still leaking. I told them that I did not want to pay for the repair because they never fixed the leak. They basically said "too bad, we are charging you" in a nice way, but the bottom line was still the same. So, I got another pool company - Pool World from Red Bank - to come over. They fixed the leak very easily and charged me 1/4 of what K&M charged. What I found out is that K&M did not close the pool properly and the water in the system froze and cracked the valve. Do not use this company. They will rip you off and still charge you and break your components.

    I can't say enough positive things about Mid State. They were  great to work with and went above and beyond.  When we called because our 20 x 40 pool safety cover was shredded over about 25% of the area (we at first didn't know how this had happened) we wanted to get a quote from several vendors to replace the cover. Mid State was the first to respond to message left (contacted 5 vendors in total) and they were able to go out to our home the next day and provide a written quote! 
    Dave (the owner), Evan (a service technician) and Sandi were all incredibly helpful with communication. My husband and I were both working and they still stuck to the schedule as promised and by 24 hours after the call we had a written estimate. In addition Dave was able to confirm that it was a deer that caused the damage and Evan suggested I reach out to our home owners insurance company. Evan went so far as to confirm that they had worked with insurance companies on this type of issue in the past and would be willing to assist. Their written quote and pictures provided were all the insurance company needed, they're clearly experts! 
    Not only was their customer service by far the best of the 5 vendors we contacted, their price came in the lowest as well. We were so pleased to be working with them we obtained a quote for a full liner replacement that we need to do in the spring and paid the deposit to lock in their services (cost of services rendered in the review includes the cover and the liner). 
    We have now completed the cover replacement and the entire process was as quick and convenient as obtaining the initial quote. I was initially concerned about the process of liner replacement and am now looking forward to completing that in May.

    Our pool is fully winterized and following a pretty strong wind storm over the weekend several sections of the safety cover were badly damaged. In order to ensure the pool is protected we were looking to get a replacement saftey cover on the pool as soon as possible.
    I've called three places so far and got great customer service. Then I called Leslie's. Kenny (the representative who answered) was dismissive (at best) and suggested I remove the anchored safety cover and bring it to a Leslie store. I asked if a service appt was an option and he said it was for an $85 service charge plus a $22 traveling fee! When I mentioned that was very different from the service provided from their local competitors his answer was 'yup'.
    Since I already have three incredibly helpful service providers coming out today (free of charge!) to provide a quote for an exact match to our current cover, I think we'll just leave it at that.
    We will be sure not to ever purchase service or supplies from Leslie's. This must be what happens when it's a large national chain store as opposed to a local operation that really cares about word of mouth referrals.

    We kept them on for a year for continuity reasons. However, they were not knowledgeable, unreliable, and they trashed my pool. When they closed my pool, they used the wrong plug in the skimmer and didn't take it out. So, now that plug is in the pipes somewhere.
