    Dr. N is my cats' regular vet. He's both thorough and compassionate, and does his best to educate cat owners about the specific needs of their felines. When dealing with emergency situations, he presents all options for the best care possible. Dr. N is by far the best vet around!

    Amazing. Dr Gerbers is the only one we will go to. No wait time ever, maybe 5 minutes.  He is gentle, careful, loving and assesses the cat personality, basically if they are very scared he is more gentle. He is very soft with the animals. He is good. Very calm and quiet in nature so that they are calm too. Dr Gary Gerbers really keeps me going there.

    Troy's Trims & Treats
    They are actually really good with my dog. He hates going to the vet and the groomers, but he doesn't mind too much going there. They really pamper him and I've never had a problem where he comes out with any cuts. Everything is pretty much groomed to my liking and he's happy, and that's what counts.

    The waiting room is large, so we waited away from any dogs. Eli was weighed by the tech an when Dr Katz came in and looked him over, she noticed that his fur was somewhat matted near his tail. Both he nd the tech combed it out and showed me what kind of implement to get and where to watch for it recurring. We talked about weight gain in Eli and how to keep it from getting out of hand. She spent time trying t get to know me and my pet and the other cat who is also part of our household.

    They have an animal hospital fee, where you pay monthly, and they give them shots, and check them out regularly. They clean their teeth once a year. It was excellent. It is not like a local business, and they are excellent. Both of my dogs had stomach surgery. My friend uses them in Sandiego, and my husband was using them before we met, so I started taking my dog there. The veterinarians are very good, and they are knowledgeable. They double book, and I end up waiting for an hour, but they take people with emergencies right away. They call me right away with the test results, and I get a call the next day by the same doctor. They could have more staff, and they are extremely professional.

    She is wonderful. She is closed on Mondays. I don't think about what I pay, because I get quality. They also cut his hair and he is not easy to cut because he has fur like a poodle.  The salon is immaculate, the lady is very pleasant, and the dog doesn't mind going there. They do what I ask, and they have never hurt him or nicked him, or anything like that. The interactions with them is wonderful, she is a very nice lady. They are cheaper than the other guy that I used to use.

    I take my two cats to them and they are wonderful. The entire staff, from the vets themselves to the girls at the front desk, are very pleasant, sweet and so loving to my cats. They answer all your questions and are patient, I have never felt rushed. They take their time examining my girls and I always believe they have my cats' best interest at hand. They are the only ones that offer grooming services for cats and they do a wonderful job with my cat's lion cut. They are very accommodating when it comes to appointments too. I highly recommend this provider to any cat owner.

    Banfield Pet Hospital - Secaucus

    Horrible.  First, let me say the biggest issue here is that they overbook appointments and understaff on the doctors.  They try to bring in as many appointments per day so they can make the most money.  You'll be lucky to see a vet for 5 minutes.

    My dog is 10 years old and she's been going to Banfield for the past 2 years because we moved.  She has been at Banfield for five appointments and they all mirror her latest on 1/22/2014.  Here it is:

    Please note the time of year this is, the north NJ area just had a snowstorm.  The following day was my appointment @ 3PM.  I called in the morning to find out if there are any cancellations and if I can bring in my dog earlier (~10AM).  The receptionist says "Yes honey, there's nobody here so bring her in!"  I brought my dog in for a minor ear infection.  We were promptly shown to an examination room after filling out the paperwork.  Inside the exam room, I can hear the staff (whether it be the nurses or doctors, I don't know) behind the "Medical Personnel Only door" (staff enters the room thru a different door).  They are laughing and joking around.  I waited almost 30 minutes before I got up and complained at the reception desk that I haven't seen a nurse yet.  In fact, when I approached the reception desk, they thought I was checking out.  I go back to the exam room and wait another 10 minutes before a nurse comes in and asks the standard set of questions.  That takes no more than 5 minutes.  He says a doctor will be in shortly as he leaves.  I wait another 20 minutes before going back to the front desk again to complain about not s

    eeing a doctor.  That's when they tell me there is an emergency and all the doctors are busy.  They have a whiteboard up on the wall with all the patients and doctors for that day.  40-50 patients, 6 doctors are listed.  Are they all in emergency?  I think not...  And this was a snow day.  There was nobody there.  Not for Banfield, the grooming services or even the Petsmart retail store.

    That's when I had it.  I walked out and will be taking my dog elsewhere.  They overbook appointments and still take walk ins.  They don't have enough doctors present to handle the workload.  Even getting checked out takes 20 minutes because the reception staff can't handle the amount of customers.  Here's a summary of previous appointments:

    Arrive on time for my pet's annual checkup.  Didn't see a doctor until an hour later.

    Pet was sick, wife brings her in at the appointed time.  45 minute wait.

    Previous annual checkup, they did bloodwork.  They lost it.  Had to bring her in again.

    Had to get a prescription there, took 30 minutes to fill it because they forgot to do it until I reminded them what I was waiting for.  And that was for a simple antibiotic.

    Checking out will take up your time as well.  Spend 20 minutes just getting a receipt.

    see what current and former employees have to say.

    Fortunately, my yearly subscription in the wellness program expires in a month so I won't be out much.  But if you do sign up and want to cancel early, you have to pay the entire balance -- even if your pet dies!  Be aware!

    Jennifer's Pet Sitting
    We have been using Jennifer's Pet Sitting for a number of years and think very highly of her as well as her services.  She comes on a regular basis as well as sometimes spur of the moment.  My husband was brought to the hospital in the evening and I wanted to be with him at the hospital.  I called Jennifer and she went to the house and took our dog to her house not knowing what the situation would be.  It certainly eased my mind not having to worry about our dog being home alone.  In addition to this, our dog suffers from severe separation anxiety and he feels very comfortable with her as she treats him as her own.  She is extremey reliable and trust worthy.  Jennifer can always be counted on when needed whether it is on a daily basis or for vacations.  Her hours of service are flexible and she has never been known to say no when needed most.

    The dog looks gorgeous.  Blue was very well brushed and did not have a very heavy perfume smell.  She was ready on time when I went to get her.   
    They may seem expensive but the work they did on Blue was great.  Nails were well trim no sign of blood on her toes.
