Eric Madden carpentry and handyman service
My husband and I utilized Eric two times. He is great. The first job Eric repaired our soffits that our contractor left unrepaired and open to the elements. Everyone else wanted us to put vinyl soffits on our midcentury modern home and Eric repaired them to look exactly like the original soffits. The second job we had a 72 x 80 broken kitchen window. After listening to some recommendations from Eric we decided to replace the window with a sliding patio door. Eric did a great job with the installation. We have scheduled for him to come back and do some more work. I respect his professionalism and he has a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely use him to complete more work at our house.

We have come to find out they're advertising the same type of job for a third of what we contracted, so we're already overpaying. We will take that as a lesson learned, and hoped that the extra they're charging us would mean some sort of urgency to the whole project... but no.
They rarely actually show up, and if they do, it's several hours later than they say they will be there. So far it's been almost 3 months for a simple basement! And it's not done! Walls, ceiling, electrical and carpet- that's it! They can't be bothered to do it in 3 months. Here are some example excuses as to why they can't show up, even though they told us they would be there on specific days:
    - Someone's uncle died (true or not, we don't know)
    - Car broke down
    - It's raining (so they can't work INSIDE?)
    - Have other jobs scheduled
...and the list goes on. These should NOT be the customers' problems, and if something does come up, all we asked for was a phone call so we were not sitting and waiting for someone to show up. This happened approximately 10-15 different days.
Yet, they cashed those checks mighty quickly and continue to nickel and dime us for whatever they think they can. They are unprofessional and act like they're so over-booked they can't possibly get to our job. Well, then, don't take our job if you can't do it.
We've filed a complaint with the BBB and hope that this mess will be over soon.
If this is advice for anyone - DO NOT go with these people. They will take your money and never show up, and a simple project will turn into a never-ending hassle for more money and no work completed.

    TRI-COUNTY DEVELOPMENT GROUP
Building an addition was not something I have done before so I needed help. Tri-County came to me as a referral from an individual who used them for commercial and residential purposes. Tri-County provided me with plenty of additional referrals which I called and all were extremely pleased with their work and professionalism. I reached out to other builders as well and decided to use Tri-County due to price and reputation as a quality builder.

Tri-County also provided a very detailed breakdown of all costs so I knew exactly what I was purchasing and for how much. Tri-County even allowed me to purchase certain services and products separately if I desired. I only had to do that with the vanity and top for the bathroom since what I wanted was custom.

From the moment Joe came out, he was very professional, walked me through the process and provided me some pictures and references for work Tri-County previously completed as well as work in progress. At no time was there any pressure as I had to sell a property prior to committing to building the addition. That process took the better part of a year. Joe followed up during the course of that year and again, no pressure, just a friendly reminder that he wanted to do the work and to offer any further support in my decision making.

The work started in August, 2012 and by mid-October, the Certificate of Occupancy was granted by my township. This timeline was consistent with the estimate provided by Tri-County.

Tri-County Development Corp is a top notch company with very knowledgeable management, staff and sub-contractors. The work performed was of utmost quality and the addition was completed on time and within budget.

The workers and sub-contractors were very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable and the final product exceeded our expectations.

I would highly recommend this organization to anyone looking for extensive home improvements.

    Studio 111 Architecture
I  had used Studio111 in the past for small emergency work, and so when I wanted to build a screened-in patio addition I knew I wanted to work with them again.
The process started with plans and drawings, which JP very considerately enlarged to compensate for my poor eyesight. Once I?d approved the plans, the guys set to work; cutting, framing, building and roofing through some of the hottest days of the year. It was a pleasure seeing the addition come together from my seat by the patio door.
The workers were always clean and considerate, and I felt completely at ease.
Since the addition has been completed I?ve found great joy sitting outside, protected from the harsh sun and insects.
The cost was remarkably low considering the size and quality of the project. Even hurricane Sandy was unable to budge it!

    Brindisi Builders
We got estimates from 4 different contractors; we also talked to several other contractors who would not even give us estimates because the job was so big and it was an insurance claim.  We chose Brindisi to give us an estimate because of their superior reputation.  Brindisi understood the scope of the job, and their payment policy of no money up front helped us manage our cash flow with getting checks from our insurance company.  Brindisi recommended a licensed architect/PE who identified structural reinforcements needed then made those reinforcements, replaced bad wood, installed windows, put in tile flooring in the laundry room, bathroom and powder room, tiled the hall bath and kitchen backsplash, replaced celing and walls, and took care of all the subcontractors who did the specialty work like hardwood flooring and painting.  They promptly returned calls and gave me a status report daily.  Their recommended carpet, tile and plumbing fixture vendors were excellent.  Brindisi came out after we moved back into the house to hook up the refrigerator ice maker, and they have come back to adjust cabinets which started rubbing when the humidity increased.  I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Run, don't walk, from these guys. Price is enticing, and Bob is charismatic. But seriously, they are so awful in so many ways. Biggest regret in the past decade was hiring them.
