Siding reviews in Chatham

  • Julio and the team did excellent work. Underneath the old vinyl siding was a layer of rotting wooden siding that they removed and cleaned up, with no additional charge. All Over kept the site clean, were punctual and brought in skilled teams for each step of the work (preparation, removal, Hardie wrap, siding, trim etc). Gutters were placed back in position.

  • Julio Checon great to work with throughout, and we would work with him again. From the start, he was responsive in returning returning phone calls and coming to my house. He was one of few providers to climb up on the roof to evaluate the damage first hand - specifically checking for damage to roof shingles. He concluded that the roof shingles were fine and provided an estimate on the spot. He displayed familiarity with working with insurance companies and understood the process. The estimate was fair and reasonable, falling within the insurance adjuster's claim reimbursement. Prior to hiring All Over Exterior Remodeling, Julio answered our questions to our satisfaction.? Julio's team was reliable and showed up on time. Day 1 was demolition (removal of the damaged siding and gutters) + replace some siding . Day 2, he brought in a gutter company to install the seamless gutters and his guys completed the siding. Additionally, we had some lights on the side of the house that were damaged by the fallen tree so the guys installed new light fixtures. Julio stayed on top of everything and oversaw the gutter company who returned on Day 3 to install a gutter connector that they did not have on hand the previous day. In conclusion, Julio was great to work with. He followed through, addressed our concerns, and completed job as promised.

  • VJ was very helpful and responsive throughout the process. The team stuck to the original timeline of 3 weeks and wrapped up on time. I was satisfied with their work and plan to use the team again for our next project.

  • We used All Over Exterior after considering 4 bids for our roofing project.  They removed two existing roofs of asphalt shingles on top of wood shakes.  They installed 5/8" plywood and Timberline HD shingles as well as a ridge vent and Fascia Flow on the front and back of the house. They installed 6" gutters, leaders and Leaf Tech gutter guards.  They also installed 9 sheets of plywood in our attic for extra storage.  We paid 50% up front and 50% when the project was complete.  We were pleasantly surprised by Julio's team of very polite workmen who took great pride in their work.  Minor problems were immediately taken care of by Julio or Wagner, his foreman. The clean-up was great and there was no damage to shrubs.  We were 100% satisfied with the work that was done for us.

  • We didn't look forward to this project as we knew it would be big, messy and noisy. But it all went amazingly well and we couldn't be happier with the service we received.
We decided in May 2014 that we would finally have our old roof replaced. We chose 3 contractors with good reviews from Angie's List to discuss the job with us and provide their estimates. Doug Carlson provided us with a lot of information and discussed the different choices we had (who knew there was so much to know and decide about when getting a new roof?). We met three times with him, every time we bombarded him with new questions (yes, we are really getting into our 'projects' and want to know all the details of the job). Doug never tired of our lists of questions and answered them with an enthusiasm and knowledge that convinced us that his company would be the one to go with. (Full disclosure, we had hired his company previously for minor roof repairs and always were happy with the outcome, but this job was much bigger, hence checking with different contractors too)
We very much liked how responsive Doug, and actually everybody from Carlson Brothers we dealt with during this project, was. Whenever we asked yet another question, we received an answer (and where needed an explanation) right away. He came across as very honest and somebody with a lot of experience in his job. Of course we also appreciated that the price was reasonable (we did not look for 'cheap' and are happy to pay for good quality) and he did not try to sell us anything we didn't need (though we went for a high quality solution, as this is our home and we plan to live in it for many years). There was also no pressure at all (none of the 'if you sign today, I can offer you a better price..' or 'Actually, we just got an opening two weeks from now, if you book today, we can offer you....' - we have all been there and for us this would have been a turn-off).
It took us some time to decide on all the details, but the job was finally scheduled for mid August. Doug had predicted that the project would take two full days, due to the fact that our main roof had three layers of old shingles, including the original cedar shakes from 1936. The whole job really only took two days.
The crew arrived on Monday morning perfectly on time and they started the job right away. Jose, the team leader, did a great job coordinating his crew and responding to yet more questions from our side. The whole crew worked very hard and at the end of the first day, the old roof was gone, the new plywood was installed as was most of the IceShield and Weatherwatch. They had worked very hard that day and still cleaned up at the end of the day. The next morning they were all back on time, putting in another day of hard work, installing our solar attic fan, the shingles and replacing our flat roof and some siding above the flat roof. Everything went very well. As is to be expected with such a big project, there were a couple of misunderstandings (where the fan should , where one of the bathroom fan outlets should be moved, etc), but they were immediately taken care of to our full satisfaction. Jose was a pleasure to deal with and Doug was available (to call) every time we had a question. Doug was on site every day to check in and his brother came to check in too. We really felt taken care of.
The clean up at the end of the job was very thorough too. The crew went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with their job.
Denise, who works in Carlson Brothers' office, was very helpful and responsive with scheduling, confirming agreements, and providing all the documentation we requested.
Now we have a beautiful roof, it passed the first rain test (the coming winter will be the real test) and are happy that it all went so smoothly without any bad surprises or damage. And Carlson Brothers has a couple of very happy and satisfied customers.

  • Went great. The owner is a personable, direct and transparent guy. Very responsive, scheduled the install right away. He personally came to the measure session, as well as his head installer (also a very nice guy).
Windows came as scheduled, install started as scheduled. We opted to have grids put int the windows, and the add-on prices were fair. No hard sell, no nonsense. Very reasonable cost for additional repair and wood work that needed to be done.
We opted not to cap the exterior, but the quote on that was also very fair.
    We're happy.

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
We are so completely satisfied.  They were timely, neat and clean... Punctual too!
I was out of town, my husband was home for the project.  When I did arrive home, I was so surprised, I could have been on a reality TV show.  I was shocked to see how perfect the job was!!!!!!!
    We can't refer them enough!
PS We have used them for windows and siding on past houses and were also completely satisfied.

  • In the past two years I have done a tremendous amount of work on my 1919 colonial with a number of different contractors. Of all the contractors I've used, Jonathan and his team are top on my list!
Our kitchen renovation was the last on our list of big projects after buying a an old house that, while well taken care of, was in need of updating. My wife and I spent about a year researching, planning, meeting with contractors, and re-planning how to renovate this kitchen. The kitchen was about 60 years old and starting to systematically fall apart. After meeting with three different sets of kitchen designers and contractors we finally settled on a kitchen designer who did an excellent job with the layouts and cabinets and Jonathan's team who did all of the demolition, construction/drywall, electrical, plumbing, cabinet installation, bay window installation, siding/roof repair, and painting.
The biggest challenge in our kitchen was that it wasn't a huge space, roughly 12'x12'. So maximizing the layout was paramount and we wanted to also figure out a way to incorporate an eating area without sacrificing overall layout and work areas. Our solution ended up consisting of a number of smart solutions, but the biggest improvement was our idea to add a bay window on the back, exterior wall to create a built-in bench seat for the eating area. We had met with two other contractors prior to Jonathan and both shot down the idea, not because it was a bad idea, but because they wanted to sell us on doing an addition for may tens of thousands of dollars. Jonathan not only embraced the idea, but helped us think through some of the other considerations such as where and how we would need to move the radiator in order to make room for the new, giant bay window. Jonathan and his team worked very hard, were patient with me (who was an overly involved home owner!) and completed everything we asked for exactly as we asked for it to be done! Here is just one example of their patience and abilities: our home has a period architectural detail of arched doorways. In this renovation, we expanded the opening of the doorway to our dining room and asked Jonathan to match the archway style in the rest of the house. He spent three days meticulously building and shaping the arch to match the exact style of the rest of the house! If you are looking for a contractor who is up to any challenge, is a pleasure to work with and treats your home like his own, look no further than Jonathan!

  • I hired Jireh H. Home Improvement to remove a very old, large AC that was built into the wall of my 1919 colonial's family room. The room has old pine paneling, which we have painted to bring the room into a more modern aesthetic, however the paneling in this repair was the problem: unless I wanted to drywall the entire room, I would need to find a way to perfectly patch the old pine paneling. I had a few contractors look at the job prior to calling Jireh H. and each of them said it couldn't be done.
Jonathan, the owner of Jirah H, was outstanding. He came in the evening and we discussed the repair. He told me that he would first need to do some research on the paneling to make sure that he could find a piece that would work and only if he could find a satisfactory piece would he attempt the repair. He took a lot of measurements and also discretely reviewed the thickness and structure of the panels by removing a light switch face plate. About a week later, Jonathan contacted me to let me know that he had found a 4'x8' replacement panel and also provided me a very reasonable price for the project. We scheduled the job and a week later he arrived on time and as promised. By the time I returned from work that evening, he had remove the AC, rebuilt the wall, seamlessly repaired by wood siding outside and was putting the final coat of paint on the new wall section. It looked perfect, like the AC unit had never been there!
The following morning after the paint had dried, I noticed some minor buckling at one of the seams in the repair. I called Jonathan and he promised to come by that evening o have a look. Again, he came on time and explained that the new panel was thinner than the original paneling and the buckling was probably due to this difference. He said that he would be able to fix it easily in the morning, which is exactly what he did! We now have a perfectly repaired wall without an ugly through-the-wall AC.
