    JMC Home Improvement Specialists
We hired JMC approximately a year ago to renovate our tired old master bathroom. Every time I walk into the bathroom I am so thankful that we chose JMC. They made the renovation really easy and smooth from the design stage through picking tile and fixtures and paint to completion of the project. They were communicative, thorough, and treated our home more gently and carefully than we do. JMC's attention to detail and care for their customers is unparalleled. They fast became our dogs' best buddies too (I think one of them is still convinced she is part of their team.) They were more expensive than some of the other quotes we received and we chose them because of their excellent reviews and the confidence I had after meeting John that we would not have to micromanage the project - they are truly worth every penny. We would definitely hire them for our next project and highly recommend them to anyone we know and care about.

    Bilenski Contracting
If I could give Ed an A+ rating, I would!! Ed showed up as promised, worked with us on design/construction issues (older house) and completed everything as promised without charging additional money for extra items he needed to buy along the way to complete the job correctly. He is obviously knowledgeable and had no problem with using some of the more salvageable pieces of the old bathroom (ok, only the medicine cabinet was usable, the bathroom was really a mess!). I really appreciated that he took the extra time to replace the toilet at night so that my handicapped mother didn't have to traverse the stairs all night. This sounds like a small thing, but was a big thing to her and much appreciated. Ed is a perfectionist and he bathroom took a little longer than originally expected, but I would rather things done correctly than be rushed, so there was no problem there. Ed and his crew took all the leftover cartons and construction debris, which was a wonderful unexpected surprise (I have had extensive work done on my current home and had to personally dispose of everything, including huge kitchen cabinet cartons and old toilets). Ed charged a flat rate for the work and we provided the major materials. Communication was excellent via text messages and phone calls through the whole renovation. Would definitely work with Ed again!!

    Avilio Construction LLC
great job........ He did the demolition and total overhaul of the bathroom, with a good paint job, nice installation of toilet, shower, vanity, plumbing, and ceramic tile; nice finish. He did very good work, worked efficiently, and the price was reasonable too. I would highly recommend him.

    Elite Concepts
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Elite Concepts goes under a series of names. Elite Concepts, Designs by Joseph Edwards, and Edwards Group. It is all the same company owned by Chenoa Edwards, the wife of Joseph Edwards. This company is without a doubt one of the worst construction companies in the State of New Jersey. They are out and out thieves and con men. I am not the only one, and I am very sorry that I did not do my proper due diligence prior to signing a contract with Edwards, as there are many individuals who had the exact same problems I had. I am not talking about a small contract, as mine exceeded $125,000.00. The Better Business Bureau has three major cases against them and gives the company a C rating overall. All the reviews on Angies List give Elite Concepts an F. There are numerous individual reviews on line found under a goggle search for Elite Concepts, or Designs by Joseph Edwards, and Edwards Group. ALL the reviews are highly negative. I found one very short review that was positive, but also seemed very suspect of being written by the company itself, it contained no details at all. One review was for another company written by Chenoa Edwards and asking the company she reviewed to write a positive review on her company even though they did not use her company. Joseph Edwards is a con man, and I was conned by him as were others. He is a great talker and will try to talk you into anything that suits him and allows him to steal your money. A short version of my heartache, which actually went on for more than eight months, and still has not completed: My wife and I, who are in our 70's, have been living in our home for more than 45 years and decided to redo the kitchen and expand it as well. I looked into a few companies and the design that we liked the best was from Elite Concepts. The man himself was very personable and likable. He answered questions and spent a lot of time taking our likes and dislikes into consideration. The job was to take a maximum of three months start to finish, and Edwards was going to complete it even earlier. Little did I know that from the point after a signed his contract that I would have little to no contact with him. Elite sent in their demolition crew on time and in only a few days had the complete kitchen demolished and removed. They cleaned up very well. So now we had a bare to the studs room, and after all where could we go now. He basically owned us. After this I did not see any crews for days and sometimes weeks at a time and when I asked the crew members why they did not come, they said they were not allowed to speak with me, and I should ask Joe. Joe never answered phone calls or emails or text messages. He totally ignored me. When finally he came I asked him why he ignores me and was told If I answer people I can not get any work done, and his evenings and weekends are his own. Our evenings and weekends were without a kitchen and living in a dusty mess. The work progressed very slowly, although I must say the work that was done was done properly and done well - except for one part of the plumbing. I continued to pay according the contract as worked progressed, but started to notice that he was way ahead of me when it came to paying for work actually done. On closer inspection you could see the contract was written totally in his favor of collecting money - not work done and before the work was complete he had the major amount of money and could walk away at any time and be way ahead of me. This was my fault for not studying the contract properly, and his fault for writing such a contract. The plumbing work was being poorly done and after a major discussion with his sub contractor and Edwards, they decided to rip it out and re-do it. I was the one who noticed it. When it was re-done I needed to go up on a ladder and re-inspect it, to see that it was properly done this time. On the way down the ladder, and noticing some parts were not redone properly, I fell off theladder. I was taken to the hospital and since have had two major operations to try to correct thedamage. At no time did Edwards have the courtesy to say he was sorry, and even after my returning from the hospital he never even asked how do I feel. He continued to ignore me. When I returned from the hospital, the sheet rock had been complete in that section, and the poor quality plumbing that I found that night I fell, was covered over. This was the only time his crewworked so quickly, very strange! During the construction on the flooring, a long nail was sent through the floor and cut an oil supply line and heating oil poured into the basement for two days, causing the fire department to come to shut off the supply line to prevent a disaster. I could not go into the basement as I could not walk at the time due to the accident and my wife can no longer go there due to the sharp stairs, (she is 76 years old). A family member noticed the smell when they came to visit me, and called the Fire Department. The cost of the damage exceeded $15,000.00. Even though Edwards supplied us with an insurance policy (please note the same shown on your ad in the lower left hand corner) he refused to call his insurance and insisted we use our own home insurance, telling us that is the proper way to do it. This meant we had to pay the $1000.00 deductible and I am sure our policy cost will go up next year. But it is now up to me to find more contractors to replace the now ripped out Sheetrock, get a painter, and find a carpet company to replace all the carpet and tile. Edwards refused to help me find these people....he said its my problem, and not part of his contract to help me. Finally, Edwards stopped coming at all, my kitchen, and the rest of the contract remains unfinished to this date. He refused to answer calls, emails or texts. He has made enough money from me, and the construction details he left are costly (that is usual with construction) and he has walked away. This is his Modus Operandi, as you can see by the other complaints against him. I have had an non functioning kitchen for more than nine months, on a job that would have been complete in less than three months. We have been living out of a microwave in our dining room, and eating out no matter what the weather and effort to get into a car.

    Manca Enterprises LLC
When my wife and I first thought about refinishing the basement, I didn't think it would be feasible when we thought about the job at hand.  When I met Brian at Manca Enterprise he assured me that he would be able to complete the job within budget and it would look great with the space that we had. I took his word for it and I was happily surprised when it was completed. The basement came out beautifully and went from a dingy storage space to an overly used family room.  He completed the job in the timeline we had, he worked late if necessary, kept everything clean throughout the project and kept me up to date every step of the way. I was so pleased with what he did downstairs that I had him do custom trim with chair rail and framing around my dining room and hallway that looks like something you would see in Million Dollar Listing! I loved working with Manca Enterprise and would recommend him a hundred times over!

    A D Home Improvement

A D Home Improvement remodeled my family bathroom and downstairs rec room. Those rooms were both outdated and needed to be updated and improved. Mike and his crew were prompt and courteous. They gutted both rooms and did a wonderful job for each room. When faced with a problem that many contractors would try to blame someone or something else Mike took care of it promptly and at no additional cost. We were so impressed we are using them again to remodel our kitchen.

    Coveney Construction Inc
I was looking for a contractor and contacted several, providing them with full sets of blue prints and discussed the renovation i wanted to complete. Only two contractors replied Coveney Construction being one of them. I found Coveney Consruction from Angie's List and contacted him, made an appointment at my home, reviewed the blue prints and scope of work I was looking to complete. When the owner Sean Coveney arrived I felt very much at ease speaking with him laying out the project I wanted him to bid on. He presented how he would preform what needed to be completed and the time frame it would take to complete. I asked multiple questions on what the stages of the renovation would go through and the sequencing. Coveney construction presented their bid with a detailed project plan and was very professional. I knew in speaking with Sean that he was the right choice and at the right price for me and would keep my best interests as a priority. When the project was started I kept in constant communication with Sean reviewing progress and meeting milestones that we set up. I liked the way Sean kept me informed and when the schedule needed to be revisited and altered he explained why and what the impact would be in the overall progress of the project. Coveney Construction started renovation in May and completed the project in mid August 2014 as scheduled. Coveney Construction being the general contractor his employees and associated contractors were very responsive  to any concerns I had and ensured me that the work being performed was the craftsmanship that I was looking for. They were right! The kitchen renovation complete with a new partial foundation to support the addition, new kitchen cabinets and granite counter tops, new dining room, new bathroom, new deck, new windows, new front door, up graded electrical service and electrical wiring and plumbing were top notch. I am very pleased with with craftsmanship, the way the project was handled and communication Coveney Construction provided. Going in to this project I had a complete understanding on how renovations sometimes throw unexpected obstacles at you, its how you use your resources to overcome them, the patients needed and the understanding required to move forward that makes the difference. Knowing this made for a stress free experience. Every renovation has its own unique  set of challenges. I will be adding a detached garage in the near further and know that Coveney construction will be provide me with the same professionalism and quality workmanship on this project as he did previously . I would recommend Conveney Construction as my first choice contractor and already have to my friends and anyone looking to have work done on there home. Sean my apologies for not writing this review sooner but thank you and your team for a job well done.

    Direct Depot Kitchen Wholesalers Inc
On October 17, 2014, Direct Depost finished our kitchen renovation. When I walked into the kitchen for the first time by myself, it actually brought tears to my eyes because it is so beautiful! Not only is the kitchen beautiful and functional, but the renovation misery was truly minimized by the nicest, most trustworthy, and competent contractors we have ever dealt with. Since there are three entities involved in this operation, I will review them separately:
The first entity was the cabinet design by Alan Reichenthal. Our kitchen presented a real challenge for Alan because it is very small and has three doors in it. In our old kitchen--and I do mean old!--I had actually injured my neck trying to reach things in the corner cabinets, so I was anxious to have that issue resolved.  Another issue was the 13" entrance: so tight that the finish was worn off the refrigerator from people squeezing through it. Alan solved all of these problems and came up with a truly brilliant cabinet design, where everything is easily accessible, and roomier entrance and exit. I will never have to "dig" for another pot! I think my favorite feature of all is the pull out spice rack--so convenient. In addition, the cabinets are georgeous. I hereby anoint Alan "The King of Cabinetry!"
The second entity under this common roof is Stephen Anger. Stephen is an impressively well accredited design consultant, who handled our granite countertops for us. He is knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk with, and provided us with excellent guidance when we had questions. Since this was an unfamiliar venture for us, we were grateful to have someone of his caliber to guide us.And the granite he helped us find is literally jaw-droppingly beautiful.
Lastly, the third entity is "Lucky Three"--the contractor, headed by Bezrok Tsay. The company name is a misnomer, because WE were the lucky ones. We have some health issues that required special measures to be taken, and Bezrok and his team went to great lengths to insure our wellbeing was not compromised.  All of his workers were of high character, and we felt totally comfortable leaving them in our home--whether we were there or not. Our kitchen presented some serious challenges: A very old house where nothing was square, a tiny room that made it difficult to work, and some antiquated discoveries where things had to be brought up to code. Each and every challenge fell to Bezrok's knowledge and experience. Work was always carried our calmly and confidently, and clean up was impeccable. The crew was so pleasant and cordial, that my husband actually said, after it was all finished, that he kind of missed them!
All in all the project went smoothly, glitches were dealt with, and the results are breathtaking and functual. Even the building and electrical inspectors commented on what a nice job was done. I would hightly recommend doing a kitchen with this company.

    HANS' KITCHENS & BATHS
The finished project exceeded our expectations.  Hans Kitchens ordered the new formica countertop and we supplied the stainless steel sink, faucet and tile.  Their technicians are professional, courteous, and experts in their field.  They were neat and tidy, and helped us design the backsplash.  Don stopped by every day to see how the work was coming along.  The job was completed on time, and at the contracted price.  We would call them again for any kitchen or bath renovations.
