    Accurate Inspections, Inc.
Mike is a professional. Hes on time (early, in fact), and his work is extremely thorough. He examines the property as if he were buying it himself. He wants you to understand his findings and makes sure to explain things in a way a layman understands. This was the second time weve used Accurate Inspections and well definitely use them again.

Atrocious. Missed mold in multiple places in house. Missed an enormous plumbing issue that requires the street to be dug up and is going to now cost me $10,000 out of pocket. Experienced two sewage backups and overflows. Also missed an obvious leak in roof. The things he did point out were miniscule compared to any of those. He spoke about cosmetic things that needed repair. Also swindled me into getting his structural engineer friend a gig of coming to "consult" about the garage. That cost an extra $300 for him to say "everything looks good." This experience was disastrous. I had multiple environmental remediation people come and say "the home inspector didn't say anything about this?"

    DIR Home Inspection & Consulting
We actually ended up hiring John twice-- once for a house we ended up walking away from (thanks to his help), and again for the house we are now about to close on. For the first house, he noted several moisture sources contributing to a visible mold problem in the basement, including pipe leaks inside and rainwater coming in from outside, and strongly recommended that we test the air in the basement for mold so we knew how bad it was. Well, the tests came back showing spore concentrations on par with an abandoned flooded building. With the seller being unwilling to put in a proper drainage system and the house needing tons of work as it was, we felt comfortable walking away from what would have been a persistent and expensive issue. The second time around, he was just as thorough and honest with us, showing us things we never would have noticed ourselves (e.g. failed flashing on one of the windows, history of leaks in one area of the dining room, etc). He doesn't cut corners and he doesn't sugarcoat-- he tells you everything. You can count on him to arrive on time, answer all your questions, perform a detailed inspection, and provide the resulting report within a couple days. Just make sure you stay in touch with him during attorney review to get a sense of his schedule-- he gets booked very quickly! I also like that he is the one answering calls-- no clueless assistant, no customer service, just the guy in charge. He made us feel secure in our investment, and I would recommend his services to anyone.

    Accurate Inspections, Inc.
First, let me say that Accurate Inspections, Inc. is very, very clear and concise in terms of setting expectation. If you take the time to read the contract, you know exactly what you're getting and what you're not getting. They carry that philosophy through in their clear and concise communication leading up to the inspection. You will receive several emails advising you of exactly what is needed for a successful inspection. Mike performed our inspection on Monday, June 5. He started on time and was extremely thorough. He engaged us ion participating in the inspection, for example, he'd turn the thermostat up to 90, then ask me to confirm that it was turned all the way up. Once I confirmed it, he'd say, "now, do me a favor and turn it all the way down". He continually asked, "do you hear what I'm hearing" or "do you see this" and them he would take the time to explain the sound, or explain the implications of what he was pointing out. I can't tell you how many times I heard, "what that tells me is......", or "what that means is........" The documentation was massive! I mean, you walk away with a three ring binder that's full! And it's not over yet! That's followed up by a final written report with pictures in less than 24 hours after the inspection! In our case, it was money well spent! We wish the findings were a little more favorable, but the bottom line is that Mike let us know where the warts were, and the significance was. Now we get to negotiate with the sellers! I would most definitely recommend Accurate Inspections, Inc., and if we don't end up closing on this deal, we'll use Accurate again when we find another house!

    Cornerstone Home Inspections
My realtor referred me to Cornerstone Home Inspection company, I was a little leery but coincidentally my brother in law also used them last year and said they were thorough. He has since moved into his house and found the report to be very accurate and has had no issues. I felt confident when calling the company, The owner explained what the inspection would entail. He gave me options for additional inspections. Some of which I didn't have performed but since the home was older, I decided to have the structural inspection and the Level 2 fireplace chimney inspection. The company arrived and greeted me at the property. The inspection went well. Some issues with electrical wiring came up, an older roof and heating system. There was also a cracked roof rafter which was discovered when the inspector got into the smallest of areas that I would never have seen and don't think some inspectors would have been able to access. The level 2 fireplace chimney inspection revealed and unsafe condition with the fireplace. Cornerstone recommended a new liner because it was badly deteriorated. A link was provided with a video of the problem so it was easy for us to show a repair company the issues. It turns out Cornerstone saved us $5000. I am very happy with their professionalism and the promptness, not to mention I felt they had me in their best interest.

    Cornerstone Home Inspections
They did and inside and outside inspection.   The outside included the roof, driveway, decking and siding.  Inside they evaluated the plumbing, air conditioning, heating and electrical system.  They were in every area of the house included the attic and basement.  They were courteous and informative.  I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

    BENCHMARK HOME INSPECTION SERVICES
Have used this company twice in the past 2 months.  Terrific, thorough reports.  So good that our real estate agent says she would cringe if she saw Benchmark coming to inspect a property she was trying to sell.  So good that a seller agent for one property we asked Benchmark to inspect asked for a business card.
Probably priced higher than others, a trait Benchmark does not refute .  My opinion: Worth every penny.  Inspections took 4-5 hours.  Inspection done by owner.  He encouraged my wife and me to accompoany him and ask questions.  We did, and he answered the questions in as much detail we wanted.  And gave limited but thoughtful opinions when asked.
Benchmark showed up on time, and delivered reports within the time periods as promised.
