  • Excellent. Sergiy and his team came when they said they would, worked hard while they were here, were punctual, trustworthy, and paid attention to detail. He showed us pictures of the closet that he was working on for us while we were out of the home to see if it was as we imagined it. We are expecting our first child, and the closet is in the nursery. Sergiy and his team were able to come earlier than planned to finish this project for us as he knew we were trying to prepare the room before the baby's arrival. The baby's closet looks fantastic. They worked effectively and completed the jobs quicker than we expected. Our deck ended up needing more work than we discussed at the estimate, that is always a fear when you start a project, but Sergiy went above and beyond to make sure that the deck looked its best and did not charge us extra money for their time and efforts. We paid the estimated price plus the price of supplies. He did an extra layer of paint on the deck, replaced more planks than expected, and even created space between each plank by sawing a gap (he said there should be a space between planks to prevent the paint from peeling). Our deck looks great and we are impressed with the new gate that was made for it. My Town Remodeling really takes pride in doing their job well. We are pleased with the work that they have done for us, and would definitely use them again.

  • We were pleasantly surprised at Bob's estimate for the work we needed done. The estimate was more than fair for the two major items we needed completed ($550). We expected to be facing a much higher price given earlier estimates on the chimney given the severity of the damage. In addition, I spoke with Bob about a number of repairs we were planning to prioritize over the upcoming months. Bob offered to complete an additional minor repair at no extra charge. 1) Chimney repair: Bob was able to assess damage to the chimney and the surrounding roof area that required reinforcement to prevent future leakage. He also easily identified the sub-par and insufficient repair completed by the previous homeowners (tar applied to cracked mortar) without having shared that we were concerned that a precious "repair" was completed in a way that cut corners. We had a previous estimate on replacing a large portion of the chimney or making a major repair and received estimates in $7,000 - $10,000 range to do so. As such, we were looking to seal the chimney as opposed to make a major replacement repair. Bob was knowledgeable about various sealant products (including knowledge about durability, the aesthetic appearance that would result, and which products would/would not be successful to apply during cold days of the winter season). It has been about 5 months since the repair and and the chimney has been great. Bob completed a thorough and high-quality repair. We've even had heavy rain since and heavy snow in large quantities (which melted quickly with a recent wave of warmer weather) and we've had no further problems with the chimney leaking. We will certainly reach out to Bob when we are ready to make a larger replacement repair to the chimney in the future. 2) Bob was skilled with accessing the steep area of our roof to access the attic vent. He came back following his initial visit to provide an estimate to take measurements of the vent so he could apply an appropriate screen. When Bob returned to complete the repair, not only did he affix an exterior screen, it was a beautifully custom hand-crafted screen with a wooden border painted white as an exact match to the screen on the other side of the house on the second attic vent. We were so appreciative not just to have had a quality repair and to have our attic secure, we were so grateful the Bob had taken so much time and care to create something custom and beautifully crafted (see included photo of screen described below the top peak of the house). We felt Bob went above and beyond but we get this impression from his work that Bob holds his work to a consistently high standard and devotes his time and effort accordingly. 3) Bob's complimentary work on the door to the screened porch was top notch. You would never know that a repair was made. His ability to troubleshoot the floor being an issue that may have led to this problem was helpful. He sanded this area as promised and this door now swings open easily. We were so touched that Bob included this complimentary repair. I'm sure it took only moments as he was clearly skilled but it was a big deal to us and we were so appreciative. 4) Bob also cleaned our skylights while on the roof at no extra charge. We have a large pine tree that towers above the house and many pine needles had fallen and were clogging the crevasses sealing the skylights. They were also covered in sap and some other dirt. To help us avoid any issues with the skylights, Bob took the liberty to ***** that this could create a future problem and pre-emptively addressed it accordingly. Owning a log cabin, you become painfully aware that not all people in the industry are capable of working on such a custom home without compromising any of the originality or quality. This was not the case with Bob. We will definitely reach out to Bob for future work that needs to be done (both interior and exterior) and will gladly recommend him to friends and family. He is both knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of issues and the quality of his work speaks for itself.

  • This is a bit overdue as my work was finished several months ago. I can't say enough good things about David's work. My house is nearly 100 years old and when he agreed to remodel my bathroom I don't think he knew what he was in for. Once he took down the walls and floor - what we found was a nightmare. But with all the issues my old house had - David was able to overcome them and produce a clean, finished, beautiful bathroom. David is on-time, quiet, focused and a hard worker. If not for the actual hammering - you wouldn't know he was there. He cleaned up every day after himself and worked like a pro.

  • He worked fast. That was his only upside. He lost the check we gave him and then hounded my wife on Facebook while we went through the process of canceling it. When we cashed out an account to keep the check from being fraudulently cashed, he found it and tried cashing it without telling us. He then again went through Facebook to harass my wife about the situation and accusing us of purposefully not paying him.(It was a cashier style check) In the end I refunded the account the check was for and he was paid the next day. I will not be using him again. He is condescending, rude and uses social media to harass customers.

  • Everything which was done was executed professionally. All waste was cleaned up and job site was left clean. Team was friendly and easy to work with. We were very pleased with the completed job and everything which it entailed. Would not hesitate to use them again and we would highly recommend to everyone.

  • It went very well.  I emailed Sergiy on April 14th.  He responded that night that he could come over the next night between 6-7 to provide an estimate.  He did.  We hired him and he started that following Monday.  He said he and his partner would arrive between 8-9am and they did.  It took 2 days as he said it would.  They did high quality work as far as we can tell.  Sergiy did exactly what he said he would do for the price he said he would and at the time he said he would.  He showed me all the receipts for additional supplies needed and then scanned/emailed me the receipts.  Sergiy also showed me some concerns he had with my deck that I was unaware of and gave me some recommendations on how to proceed.  I will hire him again as we have more projects.  I would recommend him highly.  He even volunteered to walk my dog!

  • put a silicone seal on the top edge of all the new boards to keep water from getting behind them as well.  I couldn't have been more happier with his work and his price was just as he quoted.  Very fair.  George is not only a true professional, he is also a true gentleman.  A quality that is hard to find nowadays!   Thank you George!

  • I am extremely happy with Family Painters. In addition to Tom's responsiveness and willingness to work with my schedule - he ALWAYS showed up when he said he was going to. He ensured that the rooms were kept clean and looked the same when he arrived - except for the great paint job! In addition, Tom assisted in installing a double door and stained and hung wood paneling. Everything looks amazing and Tom takes the time to do things right. He insisted on removing a section of the wall paneling and re-cutting because it did not look just perfect. Family Painters stands behind their work and is reliable and honest.

  • Horrible. He said it was too cold to fix the gutter (it WAS freezing out but that's why I HIRED someone to fix it). He gave me reasons why he couldn't do various things. Maybe because of his health he didn't have the energy or drive to do most of the things I asked. Some examples were: -too cold to fix the gutter -too costly to fix the celing fan, might as well get a new one (he might have been right but didin't offer to install a new one) -he took the old shed lock out but I had to go to the locksmith to see if I could get a replacement and wound up installing it myself - - which required use of a paddle drill and other fun things I'd rather not be playing with. -he did give me a good idea on how to rig some locks for my hot tub cover but didn't want to do the work himslef. He said "Are you really worried about someone going in your hot tub in winter??". So, I made a couple trips to Lowes and got out my drill (again) and installed the locks myself. - I needed just a handfull of insulation to be put in a switch plate that is badly leaking in cold air and he asked me if I had any insulation lying around. If I HAD insulation lying around I'd have done it myself! This did not get done either. So, I got a new sink faucet installed (that I bought in advance), a shower curtain rod installed and a shower caddy put up that I'd already assembled out of the box (one piece needed to be cut to fit) and this is what I spent ~$250 on. There were a couple other things but these are some of the happy memories.
