The job was started July 5, 2013.  It is still ongoing.  There have been many little annoyances.  The quality of the work has not been as good as the roofing job they did for me in March.  They are in the process of making amends for some of the mistakes.  It is frustrating to communicate with so many different people involved.  It is as though the different elements of the job are sub-contracted. The most annoying issue is their billing.  I agreed to an initial contract, but then they had to add additional items which is fine, except some of the additional items appear to be duplicates of the original contract.  The total cost is much greater than my entire roof job.  And sadly, the work is so far very poor.  They are trying to correct the mistakes, but it is like buying a dress with a stain which only you can see.  And you imagine that everyone will see the mark. A side note, all contractors should ask their workers who smoke to have a container to put their butts.  Also, the nails that they remove should be placed in one container  They do use a magnet, but it is not sufficient.  I am still finding nails and cigarette butts. The job was completed 9/5/13.  They can be commended for attempting to redo and correct all the mistakes.  But my summer months were marred by the whole experience.

Ron, his son and their team were terrific to work with. Ron coordinated with our other contractors and was good in communicating progress with us. He always had good suggestions/fixes for any problems that arose during the project. The team worked long hours to get the job done and were responsive to any requests we had. We are really happy with our renovated house and would absolutely recommend Ron and his team for any house renovation project. A great experience.

The siding is beautiful, but there were numerous issues that required fixing, i.e., the front door wouldn't shut because the capping on the door frame prevented the door from closing (I was told that opening and closing the door @ 100 times would fix the problem); workmen ripped a window screen; light fixtures were removed and not reinstalled; the awning was put back up incorrectly, rendering it inoperable. All of these problems took considerable amounts of time and contact on our part, but have been resolved.
Here is the current problem: on June 29th there was a significant storm in our area and a piece of the siding was ripped off. We reported this on June 30th. Did not receive a call until July 8th. Were told it would be repaired promply. Called on July 20th to ask why it was not repaired - we were told it took 2 weeks to acquire the piece of siding and it would be repaired the next day...and that he was very busy ...and several other reasons for why the repair had not occurred. Today is August 4th, two weeks later and the siding has not been replaced. We maintain that the reason this piece of siding came off in the first place is incorrect siding technique based on two facts: #1 - this house at the Jersey shore had vnyl siding that withstood severe storms, hurricanes, and nor'easters for 40 years with no damage; and #2, the other problems that occurred during installation lead us to this conclusion

I am a senior citizen and fell prey to this individual because of his sob story that he was unable to get any work and had to resort to going door to door in the  neighborhood.  Unfortunately, I did not verify his credentials and I advanced him half of the $8645 estimate.

Each time I gave him a progress payment, he would immediately go to my bank and cash my check.  Most of the time he either did not return until I repeatedly telephoned him.

He also stated that he and his employee would actually remove and replace my roof.  I subsequently learned that he subcontracted the job to another person.  He left my roof only covered with roofing felt for about 10 days during which my home sustained damage from 2 rainfalls.  When I asked him to place a tarp over my roof because of the rain, he responded that he did not have one.  I suggested that he purchase one but he did not respond.  During this time, I contacted several roofers about completing the roof.  All said the roof could be completed the same day or one day later.

I hesitaed to get another roofer because of the large amount of money I had already invested in him.

Just to get him to deliver the shingles to my address I had to call the police and sign a "Theft of Service" report.   The police called him the day of the report and magically the shingles were delivered to my residence the next day.  I don't think that he ever intended to complete the roof and was hoping that I would fire him so that he could just pocket money received to date.

And now he has stolen a piece of equipment of mine that I let him borrow and has refused to refund $450 for cedar siding repair work that he told me I wouldn't have to pay for if I contracted with him.  I have never seen anyone like this before. He is bad news from the get-go.  I am currently filing a complaint with the local municipal court.

Ed Taylor is the owner of the company. They were absolutely fabulous and excellent. They do roofing, siding and decking. I highly recommend them. I paid around $20000 for the work done in March and the current one is about $15000. Their customer service is fabulous. Their prices are very fair. They will get the products that you want and not push a product on you. Everything about them is excellent. They are overall a great company. I would use their services in the future too.
