  • The principal decorator was at times argumentative and seemed unable to work with the contractor. She ignored some of my requests and very reluctantly allowed me to make decisions contrary to her suggestions. For example, I had to argue for the size shower I wanted and I had to spend more than 4 hours returning items I had asked her not to purchase. Some basic decorating plans seemed to be overlooked. Most egregious was that one piece of furniture ordered did not fit easily through door. She allowed her movers to leave the furniture in the front hallway blocking the door for more than a week. I had to find other movers, pay them myself, to finally figure out how to get it into the house. The fabric selected for draperies was extremely heavy, required special order drapery hardware which took several months (unplanned) to deliver. It also was much too heavy for a seaside residence and even with the special drapery rod, opening and closing is not easy to do. I also felt the strategy for assessing costs was unusual and highly priced. I have never before had a contractor assess fees for tracking payments. Sound strange, yes, to me, too. When one piece of furniture was found to have a defect, there was no effort to assist in fixing it or in contacting the vendor to remedy the defect.

  • Very well. I've used Mark & Weico builders for several projects over the past 5 years & have been very satisfied with their work. The biggest being the complete gut renovation of my cottage in Brigantine (which I'm very pleased with). From big jobs to small, Mark & his crew do it all! I can highly recommend Weico Builders for all your home improvement needs.

  • I was 7 months pregnant when we discovered waste water was leaking from the upstairs bathroom in our vacation home. A cursory look at the problem indicated a lot of other issues with our 1970s bathroom so we opted to remodel it completely. We needed a reliable contractor who could work with us from 60 miles away (where we live).  While Randy's quote was higher than the two others we got, we felt it was also the most realistic about the amount of work needed to fix the myriad of issues.
The bathroom was like a rotten onion, every layer peeled back revealed more problems. Due to the extent of the work needed the whole process took about 4 months. Throughout the process Randy was communicative, an essential quality given the problems we found once the tile and drywall were opened up. Our "bathroom remodel" ended up involving completely reframing a wall, sistering all of the floor joists, rerouting incorrectly wired electrical work, and even some totally unrelated things like putting on a new storm door.  Randy sent photos of the problems he found as he fixed them.  Some of the other rooms had to be cut into to access the pipes, and he patched them back up so well I wouldn't have known had I not seen it myself. What could have been an extremely stressful process went very smoothly.
I had a pretty specific idea of what I wanted in the bathroom's design. We did a tile floor, custom tile shower with a bench and storage niches, and a custom storage cabinet to fill an awkward space between the shower and wall. Randy helped us work out a few of the quirks to the bathroom's layout, and guided us on a few of the things I wasn't sure of. I had to rely on him to make a few aesthetic decisions since I wasn't there, and I was very happy with the results.
The few times I visited the house during construction I was impressed how clean and organized the work area was. Overall I couldn't be more pleased with his work. Having a contractor who can do quality work efficiently and without supervision was a huge relief.

  • The projects we engaged Mike for were a complete makeover of our kitchen along with a bathroom, including extending the size of the bathroom.

Mike was terrific not only on the actual work but also the overall project and working closely with us through the process.

From the initial meeting throughout the entire process we appreciated the notion  that he viewed the entire project not just of a given room but how it tied into the overall layout/perception of the house. At times coming up with a different view of the layout/colors/style/etc that looked/worked better and in some instances saved money.

Appreciated his being present with us during the various trips to vendors whether it be plumbing/cabinetry/tile/etc. He also offered his current contacts which not only saved money but also time as they already had an established working relationship with him.

He was more than willing to give an insightful opinion when asked and on occassion his knowledge/expertise was extremely helpful in our final selections.

At times pointing out possible future issues we had not thought of.

The actual work itself was top-notch. Everything was covered, rooms were cordinned off, floors were covered, etc to keep dust/etc to a minimum.

He was always there for us, answering emails/etc and most importantly he stands behind his work.

And yes I would use his services again and highly recommend him.

  • There were a varitey of 'surprises' relating to permits. architects, subcontracors, inspection delays, but the contractor was unperturbed. The architect came of with a novel approach to supporting the floor in the new bedroom which gave me great clearance below the floor to store my stand-up paddle boards.  Instead of normal 2 x8 joists with 3/4 plywood inch flooring, he specified 3 1/2 inch x 9 inch laminated joists siting on 4 x 4s with 1 1/8 plywood flooring.  The contractor did not complain or ask for an extra due to  the architect's novel design, even though he had a hard time finding the 1 1/8 inch plywood and heh ad to drive far out of his way to purchase it.  The contractor did a great job and was always willing to accommodate my requests to provide items that may not have be fully specified in the drawings and he did not ask me for any extra compensaton to cover those items.  Overall, he was very responsive - a pleasure to work with.  I would hire him again!

  • Working with Mike began a few months before work began. Ideas were exchanged, estimate was given. Mike was very, very easy to work with. From his experience he suggested many ideas for consideration. Never felt any pressure. Mike and his crew were friendly, professional and accommodating. He managed his sub contractors very well. Project was well planned and executed. We would definitely hire Mike again for future projects.

  • Mike is one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with - and I have done renovations elsewhere to know.  His communication is wonderful. He gets back to you right away and really incorporates your ideas and concerns as the project moves along.  His workers are friendly and knowledgeable and Mike is almost always present at some point each day during the job.  I never worried - and having major work done when you are 1.5 hours from seeing it is not easy.  He would send me pictures to keep me up to date and text me to let me know what might need to be answered.  He is now my "go to" guy for anything I need done at my house.

  • I can not express the pleasure it has been to work with Brindisi Builders.  Due to owning a shore home as my second residence, I have been through several major home renovations, and with no exaggeration, not one other company has matched the overall professionalism, quality of craftsmanship, and integrity that they produced.  Since this is my second residence, I had to trust them with my house, because I was not always there. Well they surpassed what I expected, getting my mail, closing windows that were left open and cleaning the house after every time they left like I was there.
When Super storm Sandy hit my house I was devastated.  Yes it is my second home, but it has been in the family since my husbands mother, and seeing the downstairs in mud and muck from the nasty water was heartbreaking.  Mike was referred to me by a friend, and that referral was the first step to me feeling that there was a way to repair my house in a timely manner and under budget. It was li Quinn walked me through the kitchen design, surprising me with creative ideas that fit my needs. Steve kept me apprised of the work and scheduling. The employees on the job were courteous, friendly and very clean (which I am a stickler for ).  This may sound cliché but Brindisi Builders works like a well oiled machine from beginning to end.  I would recommend them to anyone.

I would buy from this company again. They sell flooring & kitchens.
