Project could not have gone better. Job was finished beautifully, on schedule, and for the estimated amount. As a real estate investor, I have worked with HBC several times and now have no need for any other contractors. They possess a high degree of professionalism and courtesy almost unheard of in any other company.

When it broke down Tom, Jim, and Mo had our old furnace out and the new one installed and running within 24 hours of signing the contract. They are a pleasure to work with and explained everything that was being done and why. I will be calling them for any future needs, and would recommend them in the future.

    Valairco
Angies list has Valairco listed as #1 in my area for home HVAC and my 30 year old York R-22 central ac has been leaking for a while. I had Valairco give me a quote to replace the air handler, and the outside compressor, condenser unit with a new unit that uses the new R410a Freon. The estimate seemed a bit high but I was surprised that I wasnt offered any refund for whatever R-22 they reclaimed from my old system. I started entertaining other quotes when I received an e-mail from Valairco. I responded and explained my disappointment for not being offered something for the reclaimed R-22. I got a phone call shortly after that and was told if I could have it installed the following Friday they would reduce the price by $250.00. I agreed to have them install it. The day prior to installation a plumbing supply truck arrives in front of my home. The driver unloads all the parts for the job in the pouring down rain. I thought it was odd not to alert me since some items would not be helped by a good soaking. I put those inside. It turned out that the plumbing supply delivered a day earlier than instructed. The installers arrived on 7:00 am on Friday. They started disassembling the old system. Two more men from Valairco arrived. It was decided that it was easiest to remove the attic ladder to make room to lift the new air handler into place. As soon as it was up the two additional guys left and for the next 9 1/2 hours the two installers worked in the attic and outdoors to finish the installation. Overall I am pleased with the competence of the installers. I am also pleased with how well they cleaned everything up after they were finished. The new raceway looks better and the thermostat has Automatic Changeover and Adaptive Intelligent Recovery which are nice features. They also do the first year preventative maintenance at no additional cost. The price was exactly what they had quoted. No taxes or hidden costs were added. I was not pleased with a few things. Valairco is poor at communicating. I was told that it would be a two day install at time of quote but they completed it in one marathon day. The installers changed the orientation of the air handler to make it easier to service. It isnt an issue but it would have been nice to be asked. What if I wanted it that way for storage? My attic ladder was reinstalled with 5 bolts when it is drilled for 6. Maybe one was missing before they started or maybe they lost one. Either way they left it with 5 and did not tell me. The installers relocated the hole where the lines exit the attic through the soffit and patched the unused area with a piece of galvanized steel because they didnt have any white aluminum on their truck. Not only did it look bad but when you screw unlike metals together you start a corrosive process. I was not looking forward to seeing rust stains running down the side of my house. The attic routing of the copper and electric lines are hanging in midair and looks sloppy and amateur. Only one clamp holds it to a joist and it only has one screw. The rest of it hangs 6 below the joists for no reason and creates an unnecessary obstacle. Valairco did not know that I was displeased right away. After reading my initial review here, Richard Valenti, Valairco founder, personally calls me. I did not realize that they normally do their follow up a month after completion, in order to give the customer time to use the unit under a number of weather conditions. He sent Kevin back with the installers to make me happy. They fixed the soffit with a new piece of aluminum. They put anew bolt in the attic ladder. They put a strap hanger on the lines. Kevin offered to come back after cooling season to replace the lines if I am still not happy with them. I asked him if he would have done the installation the way his installers did and if he found the installation satisfactory. Kevin did not answer. It was obvious they returned to satisfy me whether my expectations were valid or not. I am pleased that they returned and I can say that customer satisfaction is important to them.

    Elite Conditioning
I am extremely satisfied with the work completed. I needed my furnace & AC replaced. I initially contacted PSEG, but I decided to use Elite Conditioning because of the very positive word of mouth in my condo community. Numerous neighbors have used them, and they were all very satisfied. Rick was responsive, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and punctual. I found the price very reasonable. Rick and his assistant Ken were extremely neat and efficient in installing both units. I am extremely pleased by their work, and I recommend this company very highly.

Air One Heating & Cooling Pros
Overall the job went very smoothly.  The plumber performed the job in a very professional and courteous manner.  During the proposal stage,  contractor listened to description of the problem, and requirements of the job.  Contractor made reasonable recommendations, and he accurately estimated the time and cost to complete the job.  Contractor  worked with customer supplied parts without any problems.  Worked was performed in a expeditious, organized manner.  Upon completion of the job, area was cleaned, and replaced parts were disposed.  Then the contractor completed the written work order with itemized description of work and warranty information.  Customer mentioned other jobs that need to be done around the house, and the contractor inspected and give verbal description of recommendations for other jobs.  Written estimate(s) to be submitted in the near future.

It went ok. - repairman was fine however, the fee was totally unreasonable. Unfortunately it is no longer the Mom and Pop company that we were used to. We will never, ever, use this company again. Prices were unusually high. I believe they took advantage of us because it was extremely cold outside

    Schaible's Plumbing & Heating Inc.

I am very happy I hired Hoffman to do this job.  The two people who were sent to perform the work were professional and friendly and in my opinion are a great asset to their company.  They were on time.  The gas line work was clean and professionally done.  They hooked up the stove, turned the water heater back on and ensured the proper flow of gas was going to the boiler.  I feel secure for our safety - and that is the number one thing for me when dealing with gas lines.  Jeff who came for the estimate was professional and friendly and the price was right.  Whenever I called and If I had to leave a message, my calls were always returned promptly.

I will hire this company again for when I need a plumber.

    Lowe's Air Duct Cleaning

Against my wife's wishes, I chose this company based on the reviews on Angie's list. Though the gentleman that came was very amicable, we can't say the same about his work.

We could tell which vents he "cleaned" based on the vent dust balls we found on the floor.

A bigger issue surfaced having to do with the dryer vent. He was asked by my wife to be careful when inserting the vacuum wand through the dryer vent opening because of an elbow connection on that vent.. After he left, my wife noticed that there was no exhaust coming out of the dryer vent. When we got to the opening outside the house we found a lot of dust from the vent on the paver patio area where the vent comes out. We took pictures for reference. He just emptied out what ever he found in the dryer vent on to the paver patio.

The bigger problem was that he had disconnected an elbow connection from the dryer to the outside vent. That connection was inside the wall! We had to break though the sheet rock to fix the situation. Something that should not have happened had he been more careful; as he had been asked to be.

We have our vents cleaned on a yearly basis and this is the first time we have had a problem with cleanliness and the dryer vent elbow being disconnected.
