my basement had flooded,  extreme cold, so I though it was a burst pipe. Good for me it was just this gauge. I had already cleaned up all the water and found the leak. I still think it could have been an opportunity for someone to rip me off. I trust Douglas, that's why I called him.

As least as far as the estimate goes, they were very professional and courteous, but we didn't actually engage them to perform any work.  Ultimately we decided to use a different vendor whose estimate was lower.

Scott is extremely competent, and a perfectionist.  His work is just beautiful.   I can tell by watching him work that he truly enjoys what he does.
After the deck was finished, he explained to me about waterproofing it yearly, which product to buy and how to do it.
My house is old and some of the siding shakes are curling up.  He showed me how to fix them, and even left the nails with me in case (when) more start to curl.
Scott does excellent work, which is why I've used him so many times.  I highly recommend him.

Fantastic one man, you get the owner (at the risk of having a hard time getting an appointment in the future LOL)
He worked so efficently that I was amazed what he got done in a day and I had a day rate pre-approved. Very much wanted to make me happy and I was!

He was excellent. I was very happy with the results. He did a great job. He seemed pretty highly recommended on Angie's List and I would continue that recommendation. They were prompt. He did what he said when he said he would do it. Their reliability was good. I felt they were trustworthy and gave them access to my home while I wasn't there. I had no issues whatsoever. Overall, I just think that they did a nice job. They lived up to their end of the bargain. I actually got 2 quotes on the same job because I don't anything with one and the quotes were identical. That knocked me over. It took him a while to come around. I think he was very busy, so I can't say he was unresponsive. He made an appointment with me right away. I had to wait 2 weeks for it. He was there when he said he would be. He started the job on time. I would hire him without a doubt in the future.

Company owner came to the house to give us a quote for this project and was very enthusiastic and gave a great impression that he works one job at a time. We negotiated a price since his original quote was very high. He did warn us that he would try and remove the old molding carefully but wouldn't guarantee that it would not be damaged during demolition. He was able to remove the woodwork without damaging it, but we all agreed it was not worth putting back after the new sheet rock and we allowed him to replace with new wood, to match the old look exactly as it was. The sheet rock sub-contractor did an excellent job, we have no complaints with that at all. The only concern might have been the mess left behind. We were led to believe that his crew would clean up and remove all their debris but it didn't happen that way and we spent our own time sweeping, mopping and removing the garbage. After this part of the work was completed, it was time for the wood working to begin. We were told that they would arrive at 8 am the next morning. We received a call that he was concerned that the weather was calling for lightening and wanted to warn us that he may have to stop early that day. He arrived at the house after 8:30 and then announces he is going to get the wood. During the two or more hours he was gone, the weather was great. I cleared out the garage in anticipation of the rain and he refused to set up there but instead worked on the front walk way. He and his assistant must have gone up and down our stairs what seemed like 100 times to measure, bring tools or even asking us to borrow some tools. It appeared he couldn't wait to cash our check and get out the door to his next job. His workmanship appears to cut a lot of corners and the work doesn't reflect the home's original charm. Felt badly for his assistant who seemed to suffer the brunt of his attitude. Part of the contract included clean up and there is still the original molding and baseboard wood laying on our driveway. The phone jack which was working disappeared when he forgot to cut a hole in the baseboard for the wires. We called him back to fix this and now the phone line no longer is working. I have to have the phone company come to check the line. As a favor he said he would remove my old ceiling fan and replace with a new one that I should purchase but when that time came, he said "I don't have time for this today." Never finished the project as written on our contract and was a no show mid work without ever calling to say he wasn't showing up. No courtesy call. Only after we tracked him down he claimed to have an emergency project he had to complete. Not sure if I believe that, perhaps he was starting another job? We wound up doing most of the calking ourselves and finishing touches. Mostly unhappy with the fact that the work looks unprofessional, not worthy of a 90 year old home. I called him a few hours after he left this evening to say I was not happy with the door trim which was very amateurishly done and he said he had no time this week to look at it and would call me tonight to arrange a time. Surprise, he has not called back yet.

perfect, personable, flexible he came out for a free estimate before the date of the repair. I had a number of things I wanted done and he itemized them for me. Due to finances I only had 2 done, He was fine with that. I will get him back for any plumbing, I can budget now with the estimates.

Steve was very professional and is a true craftsman. He worked on the stairs over several days and always came when he said he was going to. The quality of the work is excellent. We are definitely going to use him again in the future and would highly recommend him.

I had gotten several estimates for this job. The price was very fair, but it was Douglas' many excellent recommendations on Angie's List that made me decide in his favor. This was my first time hiring someone to do any large-scale project in my home and I was a little nervous. Douglas and his men were timely, very courteous and friendly, nice to my dog and children and did great work. They were very neat during the work and cleaned up each day before they left. The work performed was top-notch. These guys absolutely know what they are doing and are very professional. I can't wait to start my next project, because DHI will be doing it and I am confident that it will be done on time and on budget, with a minimum of hassle.

The staircase to a walk in attic for out 100 year old house was falling apart. Stringers were split, the steps were sagging, and the plaster under the stairs was starting to crack. The stair case had 2 platforms and three sections, and nothing was standard size (did I mention the house is 100 years old) The job involved tearing out the old stairs completely, and replacing then with new (rehab work). The house was well protected from dust. Tommy and his carpenter, Patric, were professional and did a fantastic job. Not easy , considering it was hot, no AC, the job was on one floor, and the lumber and heavy tools were on the porch. The only surprise was that we needed a permit to get the work done, that was discovered because Tommy checked with the Town inspector after the contract was signed, but before the job started. The permit took a week longer to get, so the job started later than expected (the only reason why I gave a "B" for punctuality.
