    Taylor Rae Construction
Taylor Rae did a terrific job for me providing and installing a new front door and sliding patio door. They also built a custom made partial roof over my front door to replace an old roof that had fallen into disrepair. I am very happy with the high quality of the products, materials and installation. They did a fine job matching to old aluminum siding and replacing old sills under doors. They cleaned up everything after the installs. The doors look great. Taylor Rae were friendly, professional and responsive, coming out a few days after each installation to check on them and make minor adjustments. Pricing was reasonable and transparent. Doors took a few weeks to be made and Taylor Rae kept me up to date on status and they were very flexible in scheduling installations. Great company. They stand behind their products and work. I highly recommend them.

    Platinum Carpentry LLC
Let me start by saying, I would recommend Platinum Carpentry for any work that you need on your home!! Despite the usual issues that I believe would come up in any construction project, they were fantastic to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for a project and I hope to do so in the future for a few other things we'd like to get done on our home. The pricing was realistic, fair and reasonable. They (Lisa and Saul) were both completely responsive when contacting them. They answered all questions and made sure to discuss any changes to the original plans. They were both pleasant to deal with though the whole project. They did a great job and our new 'dining room' looks wonderful and makes for an awesome addition to our home. It's been 6 months since the project was done and we have had a few minor issues (NOT due to work quality) and we've already been told that they will take a look at the issues and send the electrician back to take a look at the issue with the light fixture. Again, not a reflection of work quality as I always believe that with construction there are unforeseen issues that can occur but since Platinum Carpentry guarantees their work for a year we knew we could count on them to not just finish a project and leave but to handle anything that comes out within that time frame. Now to completely lay out as much as possible, I feel obligated to share the only disappointing part of our project. The only thing that didn't work out so well for us was our carpet installation. The people that they have come in and do carpet (I believe they subcontract for this kind of work) did not install the carpet on our stairs properly. I'm not sure why but the tacks were sticking up in the stairs after it was initially installed. I called Saul/Lisa and the next day the carpet people came back. Again, there were still issues, and at that point the owner Lisa had to come back and deal directly with the carpet people making sure that all tacks were hit down. At the time it seemed like it was ok although the stairs didn't have the soft, comfy feeling to it like the regular carpet in the upstairs bedroom did. I could still feel something under my foot when walking down the steps. Unfortunately now 6 months later that issue has gotten worse and you can feel something on quite a few steps when walking down the steps which is disappointing since we spent a decent amount of money and it makes it a bit frustrating to know it still is an issue. We have reached out to the company though and I'm hopeful this will get looked at when they come to check out the few minor issues we are having.

In N Out Glass & Showers
I contacted In and Out Glass and Showers to provide me with glass doors for my newly renovated bathroom.  Their salesman, Val, comes over (3/20/14) to discuss options measure for the doors.  Val was very nice and seemed knowledgeable about shower doors. He took measurements and said he would contact me with a quote.  A few days later I got a quote of $2090.00 and I was asked to pay $1090.00 upfront by credit card, which I did.  I was told the doors would be ready in two weeks, which they were.  The owner (Victor Lopez) came to my house (4/5/14) to install the doors.  He was having a hard time getting the doors to fit.  He later admitted to me that the salesman measured wrong and that he would have to order new doors.  The owner (Victor Lopez) took his own measurements.  Two weeks later he returns with new doors (4/19/14).  Again he is having issues with the doors.  This time he blames my contractor for having the knee board at the wrong angle (which he did not mention on his first visit). He stated that he could make up the difference with the proper strips and caulking.  He said I could not get it wet for a few days because it needs to cure properly.  After it dries, I should test it for leaks.  If it leaks, I should call him to make an appointment.  His final payment must be in cash or cashiers check (that should have been a red flag, stupid me!).  I gave him the remaining $1000.00 plus a $50 tip.  After the drying period, I tested for leaks and it did indeed leak, on the bottom of the door and the side.  I called to get him back to fix the leaks.  I was told he only does work on the weekends and that he would be there the following Saturday (4/26/14).....no call, no show.  I called again that Monday, they apologized, said they would be there the following Saturday (5/3/14)...no call, no show.  On 5/6/14, Victor Lopez called me stating that he would call me that Friday night to discuss and set up a visit.  5/9/14...no call.  5/10/14  I called the office, the receptionist told me Victor cannot be reached. I told her I want my money back.  Victor Lopez called me right back and told me he would be there Tuesday (5/13/14) night @5PM to finally fix the door.  5/13/14...no call, no show.  I gave up.  I am filing a claim with the BB.  Do not use this guy!!!!! He is a scam artist.  He demands cash so you have no recourse when his shoddy workmanship doesn't hold up.  He does not return your calls and does not honor his three year warranty on hardware and installation.

    Roeland Home Improvers
They were good.  They were efficient and did a good job.  We also had them out to replace our gutters.  We requested a special kind that are sealed so we do not have to have them cleaned and they were able to get them installed quickly and effeciently!  They brought 1 large piece, almost as long as our whole house, and then proceeded to cut it down right at their truck.  I would have thought they would have had to come take measurments, then go back to their shop to cut the pieces and bring them back.  The whole job just took one day and they did an excellent job.  This job cost about $5,000.

The did the vinyl siding while I was on vacation so really cannot comment on them doing the job. The house looked wonderful when I got back from vacation. However, I did find a few metal pieces and nails in the grass. I cannot find any "faults" in the siding job. They did a lot of extra caulking to seal up around a faux brick face that I have. The window installation went good as well. They also installed two custom sized doors. One door had to have some extra cutting done which they did. Unfortunately, part of my house bakes in the hot afternoon sun and is showing a little fading, though they stated if I get the fading I should call them if it's "spotty" fading.
