    My daughter attended this school for a year and a half and struggled in one of the ballet classes. Given that she has a classified learning disability and the instructor of her class did not provide individual corrections, it was recommended to me by several coaches in her sport that she take private lessons. The co-director was rude and obnoxious and publicly aired everything my daughter should be doing and was not in a public lobby which my daughter over-heard. She said this school does not do "private" lessons only and was defensive and surly on hearing one the teachers did not correct in class. This school is not of the caliber the co-director stated it is and certainly demonstrated an unwillingness to work with a learning challenged child. There are far better schools with less arrogance.

    I brought in my old but serviceable base model Elna. All was working fine except the end of the presser foot lever had accidentally gotten snapped off, and in addition to having that fixed if possible, it just needed a regular tune-up besides. Before they even knew what I wanted to have done they were telling me I should just buy a new machine from them. When I informed them I already had a new Bernette and that I was just fixing the Elna up to give to a friend's daughter, they scoffed that Bernettes aren't "real" Berninas.
    Nevertheless I dropped off the Elna. They said it would take about 2 weeks to find out if the presser foot lever was available and get back to me with an estimate. A month later when I hadn't heard back I called, and it was clear they had completely forgotten about it. I was told I it would take a week to find the part and get the estimate. Then, nothing. So a couple weeks later I called again, same story. Repeat several more times until they has the machine almost 4 months. A day after my final call to them I got a call back--they had found the part and if I wanted to go ahead, that and the tune-up would come to $180+. I paid $250 for the machine new, so obviously it wasn't worth it. When I went to get the machine back, they couldn't figure out where they had put it and it took them a while to find it on the shelf. During all these exchanges over the months they were always gruff and borderline rude. See no reason to go back there, ever.

    It's a voice over internet call and it's connected to cable or modem and it has access where you can actually use a phone. It's a triple package. They don't have much programming that I'm hoping for and they are somewhat expensive. We have a basic plan.

    Installer was late, late, late (despite repeated phone calls as to whereabouts).   Claimed he was filling in for someone else before he was leaving for vacation next day.    Did a decent enough job installing equipment, but too much time spent waiting for others (bucket truck and supervisor) to show up for needed assistance/approvals before completing different steps.   Left virtually no time to finish setting up TV remote and explaining how it worked.   Not all the remote buttons worked correctly and had to go to Verizon store twice to get replacements (since 1st replacement would not set up correctly through auto-set-up procedure).   Still using the 2nd remote which has ongoing problems that I've just learned to live with, since Verizon charges $15 for a replacement (Cablevision remote exchanges were no charge).    DVR still fails to record pre-set programs (even when a series) on occasion, so have missed some NEWS program I wanted to see, but have been able to view other types of programs from Free TV listings (just can't skip through commercials that way, like I can on DVR recording).   Don't want to attempt a DVR replacement, since I would lose all the shows on the one I have if I do, so just living with it all.   

    Phone service has gone out without notice and had to call and get system service reboot (never had that problem with Cablevision).    Internet service speeds have gotten MUCH worse over the past year, even for just checking email and doing searches.    Were fine in the beginning and I'm not a heavy user (no streaming, etc.) so don't see any reason why except maybe they hope I will give in and pay for faster speed (like I used to have to begin with).  System check says my speed is fine (it's not)

    Biggest complaint is the Verizon website.   You can't get a live person on the phone and have to navigate the most confusing website I've ever had to deal with.    Can't type in a simple search and get directed to area on site to get an answer.   Have to hunt for the correct spot where answer/instructions may/may not be shown.    VERY frustrating. 

    On positive side, many options on FIOS TV better than Cablevision.   Easier to choose/set shows to record on DVR on selection to view missed shows on Free TV much more extensive than it was on Cablevision.    Capacity of DVR much greater than Cablevision (where I often ran out of room).    Strange that Verizon doesn't automatically provide picture in HD (i.e. CBS New York Channel 2 is not HD.  You have to select channel 502 to get HD.   Cablevision automatically provided HD on any channel where it was available).    But again, I've gotten used to it.  Website does allow you to block up to 100 phone numbers, which has helped cut down on some of the robocallers and scam charities.

    It went very smoothly. Provider suggested various specials (freebies, etc.) that we took advantage of, and we were able to adjust our TV channels to maximize viewing and lower our cost. I'd still like it to be cheaper, though. Note: Price includes TV, Internet and phone for the month.

    When Ms. Ashner and I began, I had been away from school for several months, and she truly had her work cut out for her in terms of finding a way to get me back on track academically. I was still under physician's care and in the process of managing a chronic illness, so as you can probably imagine, I had both good and bad days to contend with. Even on a "bad" day when school work was the last thing I felt up to completing, Ms. Ashner was able to bring my focus to the particular subject matter. She is what I would call an "out of the box" thinker, and it was through her instruction that I truly learned the meaning of that phrase. She had a great ability to reduce the pressure I felt when working on a particular task or course by finding ways to make the material most relatable to me.
    She was also an excellent problem solver, which is something that can be attributed to her extensive experience with both General and Special Education. Ms. Ashner was punctual, reliable, flexible, and truly went the extra mile to meet my needs. Overall, it was a pleasurable and extremely rewarding experience. She identified my strengths, and through them, found ideal ways to create enthusiasm for a task, an eagerness to learn more about a subject, and the motivation to succeed at the height of my potential.
    As a disabled student, I have never had a teacher as compassionate, attentive, and accommodating. She was not only an excellent teacher, but has been an amazing mentor whose advice I still seek and have come to respect on both a personal and professional level. I believe the best teachers are those who not only impact your academic achievements, but also have the ability to influence and impact your life -- That is what Ms. Ashner has done for me, and given the opportunity, I have every reason to believe she would do the same for any other student.

    The lady who answered the phone was unprofessional, obnoxious, and rude and hung up on me because she didnt know the definition of "debris".
