Electrician reviews in Atlantic Highlands

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We do electric did a very nice job. They found and repaired a couple of blown circuits, replacing circuit breakers and several GFCI receptacles. Replaced a ceiling and an attic fan on a second visit. Provided quotes for a whole house surge protector and a generator. They left a few holes in the walls trying to locate the control box for the fan, but they discussed this with me ahead of time and I agreed to patch the holes instead of have them do it.

  • Everything was explained to me. I did not need a new opener but a part . Mr. McGee was very professional and I was very pleased with the work done . The price was very reasonable. I would use him again.

  • The company is under new management this year so previous reviews may no longer be valid. Their web page does not link to a current email. They were hired to prepare the outside electrical fixtures for placement of new siding and to install ceiling fan in a bathroom. They were unwilling to discuss the needs of the siding contractor until I made the call and forced them to talk. They cut the drywall from the attic so the cut is very rough in the interior of the bathroom. The technician also fell off the rafters and through the ceiling. I called to inquire about what they intended with respect to repair the damage and never received a response. I will now need to hire a drywall contractor/painter to fix their mess at additional expense. Caution to all, recommendations and reviews are only as good as the ownership when reviewed.

  • The price of work I've listed here includes two separate work orders on two different dates, a few weeks apart.
We recently moved into an older home, which needed some minor electrical repairs, plus we wanted to install a garbage disposal unit in the kitchen sink.
On both work dates, a pair of electricians came, a lead electrician and an assistant. So we had two different work teams and both times they were prompt, professional, very helpful and very friendly. They got right to work, did the job efficiently, and were very nice about answering several additional questions I had about the home's electrical set-up.
The price was completely reasonable for the amount of labor involved. And on the second work date, the chief electrician charged us much less than the quoted price for the installation of a bathroom ceiling fan, because when he removed the old fan, he realized he did not need to replace the existing housing, which was in good shape. I appreciated his honesty and thoughtfulness about this; he could easily have just billed the quoted price and left.
Finally, I've got to mention Linda, the woman in charge of scheduling and office responsibilities. The front office is a critical part of any consumer-oriented business, and Shay Weimann is fortunate to have Linda in charge.  She's incredibly pleasant to deal with, sweet-natured and efficient all at once. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd invent electrical issues just to have a reason to call Linda and have her arrange everything.
Based on our experiences so far, we'd recommend Shay Weimann wholeheartedly. His company is our go-to for any future electrical work.

  • No services performed.  Contacted via Angie's List to troubleshoot residential wiring but no response.  Waited 24 hours for response.  Specifically requested response one way or the other (in case they were busy, just to give me a heads up) but nothing.  Terrible.  Can't believe this place has all A's.

  • Telly was prompt and professional throughout the process from estimate to final discussion. He kept me informed of problems as they arose and how they were resolved. He also shared a great deal of information on the materials and processes being used. His crew was first rate as well. The tile work was impeccable in spite of a difficult space to work with (bowed walls and settling floor). The tile scheme was white tiles with gray grout so that any imperfection would have been magnified. The drywall finishing was particularly impressive with sharp corners and invisible seams. I wish I had found Big Dog earlier in my condo renovation and would definitely use them again

  • Worked with House Doctors in the past.on other projects so when I had my list of things to do together gave them a call again.
Scheduled an appointment for an estimate and the repairman showed up right on time. We needed to negotiate what was going to be included in the final quote and that went very well and easy through the phone and e-mail. Scheduled an appointment for the work and again repairman arrived right on time. Work was performed quickly, I was surprised how fast some of the tasks were completed and everything done by the end of the day. Very happy with the results. Will definitely give them a call again for future projects.

  • We have two light switches in our basement, both on a GFCI outlet. When we turned one on, the GFCI would trip. We checked the outlet and switches - because we also had a minor plumbing problem, we thought the issue was water related. Shay Weimann came out quickly and the team did extensive troubleshooting to discover that the problem was due to a frayed wire in one of the light fixtures (not the switch or anywhere near the GFCI outlet). They quickly and efficiently fixed the issue and even did a quick inspection of our basement wiring, confirming that all was well. We'd absolutely call Shay Weimann again.

  • We called kingdom electric and set up a time for them to come out.
Dennis and Steve showed up on time and were professional and personable. We showed them the fixtures that we wanted to replace and they went right to work. Our two new chandeliers and bedroom light look beautiful. They also capped off open wires in the basement and evaluated our electrical box.
We were very happy with Kingdom Electric. We would not hesitate to recommend them and we will definitely use them again for any future electrical work.

  • It was fine for what they did. They gave me a quote on this other electrical work I had done. As far as I can tell their work was fine. They gave me a quote on some other work that I needed done. I got another quote on it and it was better than theirs. I ended up not hiring them. I had some old wiring in the house where I had outlets that were wired. I had a switch in the dining room that shut off the television. I had several things wired to an outlet in the living room where the television was plugged in. I had a couple of outlets that were still the old two pronged ones that didn't had the three prongs and they switched those out for me. They disconnected the things that were supposed to the one where the television was plugged in. They did everything they could in the time allowed. The other electrical work I needed done was work where I was having a new bathroom put in. When I hired the contractor for the sheet rock and tile work, he had to coordinate everything with the electric that was needed for the bathroom. He had an electric guy that he worked with. If I have hired these guys, they don't live near me. Kingdom Electric live maybe an hour away. The guy who I hired to do the sheet rock, he would have had to coordinate with them and his schedule. He had an electrician that he worked with on a regular basis that will allow him to coordinate his schedule with the electrician schedule. I would have been putting him together with a totally unfamiliar electrician and they may not have been able to coordinate their schedules. If the circumstances would have been different, I would hire them. They told me they don't even get the $49. I would suggest, if they're coming a long distance for some work that's just a teaser, they should get something for it.
