  • r Service went fine - I have my family take all their vehicles to Rick Allen's - I find that the mechanics provide honest appraisals re services needed - I had rock chips on windsheild and was asking about a dealer they knew - mechanic suggested I contact my insurance Comp first - I did and saved @140K - another time I had a crack in my windsheild - asked again for a dealer - the one they suggested offered the same servies for $100 less than I could find
    Had some older cars that needed work - mechanic spoke me out of unecessary repairs due to cars anticipated useful lifespan -
    lastly - had been going to dealership for servicing before - tech told me  I needed rear brake replacement and new cat converter - costing around $3000 +
    Went over to Ricks - he adusted rear brakes - advised me to use a cat cleaner from a local auto store and replaced a O2 sensor - about $500 -  and everything is working great with  no engine lights - looking forward to an uneventful DMV inspection soon
    Best of all - Ricks service center is clean and well taken care of - shows pride in what they do

  • I went into the shop Because my transmission felt funny when driving. It was like it wasn't going into gear. They took my car age an immediate estimate for a tune-up, battery, and a few other Maintenance type things. He said I needed the tune-up. which when I told him we had gotten a tune up 8 months ago, he was nasty and said I've been doing this many years, I know why I am talking about. If you don't believe me take it somewhere else. He said you don't have enough power going to the engine it needs a tune up. He then told me that there was nothing wrong with the transmission everything was fine. I reluctantly agreed because I thought anyone that feels that strongly probably knows what they are doing. I got my car back and it seemed to run fine the first 2 days. Then it was back to no getting into gear correctly. I then took it to another shop. A transmission shop and they told me that I needed a new transmission and anyone who knew anything about cars would have noticed it. I got my car back from them and it ran perfectly. I think he knew it was a transmission problem but didn't have the capacity to fix it so he charged me a lot for maintenance that I had done less than a year ago. I could have used that $1200 towards the transmission.
