Roofing reviews in Allendale

...but instead of hammering me for the job, Jimmy recommended that I save my money to replace the roof in a few years because all would be taken care of then. He was honest, seemed trustworthy and was extremely friendly. When the day comes in the next few years that my roof needs to be replaced, I will make only one phone call...to Jimmy to have him do the entire job. Thanks Jimmy. I'm so glad there are still people in the world like you.

Estimate was very good, although higher that all the other roofing companies we also contacted. Any questions we had about a new roof - and there were many - were answered clearly and accurately by Homestead. We decided to use Homestead Roofing, as several people we knew had used them and recommended them to us. Everything went as planned. Overall very pleased, though the tear off was rather sloppy, and shingles hit the window several times on the way down, as well as several pieces of shingle ended up lodged in our bathroom vent fan. Company was very responsive to the vent fan issue, and it was repaired the day after we reported it. Work was completed on time, and the clean up at completion was wonderful - never even found a roofing nail left hidden among the grass on our property. We would recommend them to others.

While I was having some work done on my house, the company I hired told me that I may need a new roof. I researched Angie?s List and found that Sky Tech received all ?A?s from their customers so I contacted them. After the owner, Dave, looked at my roof, he told me that I did not need a new roof, just a few minor repairs which would total $650.00. He took photos for me so I would understand the type of work he had to do. I would definitely recommend this company because of their honesty and professionalism. Dave and his office staff were a pleasure to work with.

I purchased a gutter cleaning special on angie's list for $139, a 7% discount off their regular price. After weeks of not hearing from them, there appeared to be miscommunication because they sent me messages througth Angie's list which i do not routinely check. So by the time they made their appointment with me, they explained the details of the deal were to charge 139 dollars for the first 150 linear feet. However, beyond this, the charge would be 1 dollar per linear foot. They measured me at 285 feet and therefore wanted to charge an additional 135 dollars with taxes on the full 139 + 135 they would charge me. I have never paid so much for gutter cleaning and therefore asked for a refund through Angie's list. Be aware that any other gutter cleaning service I've dealt with have quoted me a price under $200. The fact that this was a "deal" on Angie's list sounded very attractive, but clearly is no deal at all!

A&J was very responsive on estimating and honest. They would not perform any work unless they believe it is necessary. He indicated that my roof  was 30 year grade and it still had ten year life remained while other providers did not reveal this information to me . The workers came on time and finished the work professionally. The quality was also excellent.

These guys, Peter and Grau, completely redid a cottage I owned that was in such disrepair it was going to be condemned. It has since become a money making concern due to them. They have dealt with the town and their permits well. They have done small jobs and big jobs. Great guys. Roof work, plumbing, including having to replace underground pipes from decades earlier. I am always happy with their work.

Starting with the estimating process and throughout the roofing project (total of 3 days as estimated), Dave and his crew were courteous, responsive and professional.  For the original estimate, Dave showed up on time and was very thorough.  After receiving estimates from 3 other vendors, we had some questions about the AAA Cover All estimate and Dave came to our house and answered them completely to our satisfaction.  Once we agreed on a start date, Dave and his crew arrived at 7AM the day the project began (as he promised).  He cautioned us to protect anything valuable in our attic from roofing debris and dust created during the tear off & installation.  He outlined what we could expect during the project and was available to answer any & all questions.  The crew was careful during the tear off to protect our house and shrubs and cleaned up at the end of each work day.  Dave and his entire crew are not only good at roofing but also know the meaning of customer service.

Dan and his crew removed the old layers of roofing, some old roof vents and three skylights.  They also repaired some damaged wood on the roof and soffit.  They installed 2 different waterproof underlay materials before installing the actual roofing.  Dan was very patient and helped guide us on the type of roofing we wanted, giving us the pros and cons, as well as the color.  They installed a new ridge vent as well as some additional vents on my lower roof  and three new skylights to replace the worn out ones I had and they don't leak!  When Dan showed up for the estimate he actually went on the roof for about one hour, took measurements and photos.  Thanks to him I was able to avoid a potential disaster down the road with my failing chimney.  He suggested an excellent mason who I actually hired to replace the chimney before the roofing job was completed.  Dan was there overseeing the entire installation.  Due to the extremely hot weather and being short two crew members the job took longer than estimated  which we were able to work around.
Dan and his crew were very professional and were neat and cleaned up afterwards.  I would recommend Daniels Contracting.
Only suggestion I have is if considering a roofing project by anyone, do it off season when the weather is cooler and less chance of damaging  any of your flowers and plants which can potentially happen.

Was solicited by a Power employee in BJ's about getting a quote for any home remodeling I wished. Set up an appointment the for next day. Received 3 calls prior to visit confirming appointment. Salesman came along with a recent hiree who was in training. The meeting started off with ultra politeness plus a walk around entire first floor of house. We then went outside to review the project from the ground. There was snow on the roof but we visually inspected and went back inside. Was informed that they used sattelite imagery to compute the square footage of the roof. Mentioned that we did not want the roof of a recent addition included as part of the project. We were then subjected to approx 3 hours of Power's roofing methodology (was informative) plus what I would refer to as badgering and harrassment (not informative). Was finally given a price of over $40,000 for the project. When I realized the salesman included the recent addition roof, he revised his price to $34,518. Said thank you but no sale as I had not yet gotten any competitive quotes and I would not buy his product on the spot. He lowered the price if I would buy right then. Reiterated I would not buy until I received more quotes. Salesman then stated he may be able to lower price even more if certain conditions were met. I emphatically said no deal. The salesman and trainee asked to look in the attic. I agreed but no deal today. After a cursory review of the attic the scare tactics started - mold, they had never seen a roof in such bad condition, wet roof boards/leaks, possible collapse of roof with weight of snow. Finally asked them to leave and don't call. If I was interested I would call them.
I received a call from them everyday for about the next 2 weeks - I recognized the numbers and intentionally did not answer.
I contacted 3 other roof installers and received prices about 1/3 of Power's price. Have recently contracted with one of the suppliers for a new roof.
I urge homeowners to steer clear of Power Home Remodeling - an unscrupulous company that tries to gouge with bulldozing, scare and bully tactics.

Bruce was extremely friendly and prompt with doing the above work. He even moved my job up ahead of a few others because last Spring my roof was in such bad condition that it was raining into my dining room and into the closet in my sons' room. When he heard that water was entering not just the dining room, but affecting my boys' room he showed up at my house to start the job the next day unannounced, putting off some previously scheduled non-emergent work that was ahead of me, because he felt bad that it was affecting the room in which my kids slept.  I think that speaks volumes of his decency and reliability.  He stuck to his original estimate, which came in as the middle of 3 that I obtained.   As the roofing progressed it became apparent that some of my cedar siding was contributing to my leaks, so that was added into the job as well, so about $8000 for the roof and $5000 for the siding work, which compared to other estimates I had received was very fair for the scope of the work.  Bruce was present at the job site on every day of the job and ALWAYS answers the phone when I call him.  He is different from most every other contractor I have dealt with, even ones that I like, in that I never had to leave him a message and wait days for him to get back to me.  He has always answered the phone.  I have reached out to him on 2 additional occasions to make a minor adjustment to my gutters and to clean some snow off my roof from the heavy snows we have had in New Jersey this winter.  Again, he answered the call the first time I called him.  Long and short of it is that I would recommend Bruce without reservation, to friends and family as well..
