    Jerry's Furniture
We had stopped in just to see what they had for furniture. Nice pieces and no stress as we moved around the floors. We liked the owner, Jerry instantly. Then we found a couch that would fit into our space. They offer free delivery on Mondays through Fridays. We arranged for a Friday a few weeks later (so we could schedule the vacation day with our bosses). Couch was delivered at the time they said. They carry nicer furniture and worth taking a look around.

    Bob's Discount Furniture
After spending days looking through higher end furniture stores we bought overstuffed chairs and ottomans at Bob's Discount furniture. The furniture quality was surprisingly good, sales people were helpful and not pushy. We did have to pay extra for delivery but still paid less than we would have at other stores. I am a bit of a snob, so the last place I thought I'd find furniture I liked would be at a "discount" store. I was proven totally wrong and would definitely go again if I needed furniture. Incedentally, my Bob's chairs have held up better than my Pottery Barn sofa.

    Lowe's Home Improvement
It's been a very experience. I don't go to Lowe's as frequently as I do with other stores but no complaints. I think what I like about the is there are more offers in terms of home decor and home furnishing. I would use them again.

This was the cheapest furniture and it fell apart after a month.  No luck getting calls returned.  Really horrible attitudes.

    Furniture Forever
I ordered a third gallion Twin mattress . I was never told the mattress was discontinued . Without my knowledge or consent Furniture forever ( owner ) Portsmouth NH , slipped / shipped a Heidelberg twin mattress .When you put the Heidelberg beside the Gallion it is lower by almost 2 inches in a side by side double twin bed . The first Heidelberg mattress was so bad I had him come back and exchange it . Still I was unaware that the owner pulled a fast one selling me a cheap mattress to replace the gallion which I paid for , until I was cleaning house in early September Previous the owner had sold me commercial mattresses that were defective without a top cushion insert . He would not take them back with in the first year of his mistake with a five year warranty . He had me pay and buy what he called memory foam inserts . Only to find out he sold me straight foam . Certainly I will not be back in this Portsmouth NH store . He has lost a commercial & residential account . One screw up is one thing but two and a third I can't afford to take monetary hits from some one who has been untrusting . Lots of choices to choose from .

Our original experience was good. We went to Allen because we knew Bill, and preferred to support a local business rather than a chain. We chose a fairly firm mattress, paid cash, and had it delivered very promptly. The mattress seemed to break in a bit more than we anticipated, but we neglected to trust our initial instincts. After owning and sleeping on the bed for six months, it became clear that there were more issues than just an accelerated break in. It appeared as though the coil springs were prematurely fatiguing which resulted in large depressions despite rotating the mattress according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The net result of these depressions was extreme back pain from sleeping in a lumpy bowl. My boyfriend could no longer sleep on it without experiencing severe back spasms (he never had back problems before), and subsequently has slept on our $400 pleather couch for the past 5 months instead. Realizing that this was a situation we desperately needed to resolve, we took some photos and approached Bill at Allen. He told us that although the bed was not under warranty he would do what he could and if we could take some pictures using a suitable straight edge to better reveal the failure, he would show the manufacturer to try to get us a better deal. We returned the next day with the requested photos, and were promptly intercepted by Bill's uncle who actually runs the business and can be seen in all of their commercials. After hardly a glance at the proof we furnished, he quickly proceeded to treat us as though we just didn't like the bed or didn't understand the nature/ construction of the product we had purchased. Further, he acted as though we were solely interested in leveraging our friendship/ acquaintance with Bill to get some sort of a handout. He minimized our issues, suggesting our legitimate complaints with a malfunctioning product were simply petty dissatisfaction with a lower-end line of products. His solution was to "eat" our mattress (so generous) so long as we purchased a much more expensive, higher quality replacement on the spot to the tune of an additional $660. When the request was made to take a raincheck (we didn't have $660 in our back pocket having just had a new baby), we were told he would never put an offer like that in writing. It was very clear that his priority was to up-sell us and would break out all the sales techniques he had to do so. We approached the situation from a very reasonable place, not expecting much, already agreeing on two twins instead of our king if that would be cheaper for Bill. What we received in return (after being led to believe there was a possible fair outcome) were no more than the sales tactics of a bargain furniture salesman and a preference for protecting the bottom line over customer service. Unfortunately, Bill was not in a position to honor his stance. As a result, we opted to walk out of the store, and will not return.

    Green Mountain Furniture
I have shopped at this store in the past. I Bought a hide a bed couch 5 years ago and had to return the it because of tiny bleach like spots on it. They then delivered the second one which was fine.  I did get a 10% discount at the time of purchase because I mentioned that my sister bought a lot of her furniture there. This year I decided to go back to buy a twin bed frame with a trundle underneath and mattresses to go with it. I decided what I wanted and asked them to give me a discount. They replied, without a seconds thought, that it was not their business to give discounts and the prces they put on their items were the lowest they would go. We left without buying anything. In the meantime we found the trundle part of the bed and a mattress at an estate sale. After a few months time I decided to go back and buy just one mattress and the high twin bed frame. I, again, picked out the matress I wanted and the sales person went to check on the price for just the frame for the high part of the bed. By the time I got to the front of the store, maybe 10 minutes, she had gone somewhere to talk to whomever this "in Charge" person is only to say they couldn't sell me just the twin bed frame because they "think" that it comes as a set with the trundle underneath. They said even if they did and ordered another one it would take 8-10 weeks to get and they couldn't sell me that.  I had the money in my pocket, took 10 minutes of this sales persons time and this was a bed back in the farthest corner of their vast building. How many of these sparse metal bed frames could they be selling so they THEY couldn't wait the 8-10 weeks to get in a new one?  Or, could they have possibly have called the supplier to find out if this actually could only be bought as a set, because they didn't know. I am in the market for some leather living room furniture that I had my eye on from there but  will search much farther than there before I ever do business with them again!!
