    Real Dry Waterproofing - Scituate
I checked web site referenced in Angie's List and called provider who returned call within 2 hours. We set appointment time and date to visit site and evaluate problem. Accompanied provider during inspection who responded to my questions. Provider took photos and did mold swipe and sent to lab for testing. Within 3 days, provider wrote up quote, emailed me and together we spoke by phone about his quote and alternative recommendations. Returned swipe test results withinn 1 week. At my request, Provider proposed to do "destructiive testing" to further evaluate scope of problem with approval of property owner based on a mutually agreeable date if and when requested. I did not request further work from provider because I (buyer of property) decided not to go forward. Provider performed in a professional way and at an excellent level in all respects and I definately would call on him again.

THE BULKHEAD MAN & SONS LLC
Craig came to the house and assessed what I needed.  He provided a written estimate.  He offers an Angie's List member discount.  It took about 4 weeks for my custom door to be manufactured.  Craig called and made an appointment for the installation.  He and a co-worker showed up on time on the appointed day.  They removed our old broken and leaking bulkhead door and replaced it with a new one in about 2 1/2- 3 hours.  They put a cement seal around the bottom to insure against future leaks.  Craig spent a few minutes showing me the features of this door.   He showed me how it was reinforced to minimize the potential damage from falling ice (which had badly damaged our last door.)   He thoroughly cleaned the area around the bulkhead after the job and there was no damage to the landscaping or lawn.  Craig even came back the next day - a Sunday! - to install a missing piece of siding near his job.  Overall, a great job and I would strongly recommend The Bulkhead Man to one and all!

Sky's Carpentry on Lake Winnipesaukee LLC
Shaun pulled together an estimate very quickly, went over in detail with us what he thought needed to be done and was very clear on what aspects of the job might need to be expanded - there was a lot in the basement you couldn't see. He was incredibly responsive during the work, kept us updated - as the house was vacant for much of the time - finished on time and under budget.  The final result is great, its a completely different space now and without the dampness, the furnace works better and the house feels much lighter.

    Barton Construction
It could not have gone better - Bart Barton and crew rebuilt my basement bathroom and spare room damaged by water and mold, and then built me a new garage. Overall - great quality work, and on budget. My best experience with a contractor - ever! He is the best communicator of any contractor I've dealt with - calls with updates, let you know in advance if they won't be there for some reason, and makes the owner a full partner, explaining what's happening throughout, and offering option, with the impact to budget, and other choices that could reduce the cost. He is a partner in the project.

    Brent Harlow Designer/Builder
Brent is a conscientious worker. There were a couple of damage issues that popped-up where unintended surface damage occurred to the driveway from the use of an excavator. He returned later to repair the blacktop. Additionally, when some water ended-up in the basement during the chimney work, he immediately addressed the issue to avoid any other problems. On the second job, the initial quote for this work was exceeded due to the addition of the chimney cap and the extra unanticipated work, but this additional work was discussed during the progress and the excess cost was reasonable in my opinion. Brent initially appears a little "rough-around-the-edges", but his diligence, work ethic, and sincerity are top-notch. I recommend Brent for any building or repair work to be done. I recommend calling him to discuss any potential building, design, and repair work. I think you'll be happy with the result. Brent is responsive via both phone and email.

Basement Systems of New Hampshire Inc
I can not say enough about this company.  Prior to contracting them we had a constant 2+ inches of rain in the basement every time it rained.  They were very responsive during the quoting process, taking the time to work out the right solution with us.  The techs showed up right on time every day, and left after cleaning up. Work is guaranteed for any future leaks and we have had not a drop of water since.  I do use them every year for pump maintenance.

    Rescon Basement Solutions
Axel and the crew showed up on-time and got right to work. The supervisor,Bob, came out and walked the job with me to assure we were clear on the scope of work. The men took 3 days as promised and stayed the final day until 6 to finish. They left the basement broom clean every night and didn't even damage the grass...putting tarps down to walk on. The work was done exactly as promised. In fact, they actually re plumbed part of the sump drain line which was not specified because they didn't like the way it had been run by them some years before. Axel took great pride in the final walk through and made sure I was satisfied also. He made a point of not only covering the warranty but making it clear we should not hesitate to call them anytime with any issues.

    Rescon Basement Solutions
The steel bulkhead door was damaged by falling ice from roof.   In the spring a representative came out to assess the damage.  A quote was provided.  Rescon couldn't fit us in until the end of summer, but the work was excellent.  The installers were very professional.  The completed work met the quote, no additional funds were required at the end of the job.  I would use Rescon for future projects.

It went great!!!  Chris Brown & his crew were the utmost professionals in tackling a wet basement.  I have to commend Axle and his crew on the work they did in my basement.  They hit a few major stumbling blocks while digging the trench for the drainage system.  But they were quick to resolve them and all work was completed on time...  Fantastic job... Chris Brown and entire staff are top notch!!!!

    Brent Harlow Designer/Builder
We have worked with quite a few contractors over the years.   Brent Harlow has really impressed us with his overall professionalism.  As you can see from the list above, he is well-versed in almost every aspect of what a contractor needs to know these days.   About the only thing that he did not do for us is pour concrete, and that's saying a lot. Brent has been most responsive to our needs, and when things did not go right, he would make every effort to fix them as soon as possible.  This would include coming out on weekends, and even replying to a frantic call at 2 am when a smoke alarm would not turn off. From designing, to ordering materials, to installing, to clean up, Brent has been very competent. Unlike some contractors we've worked with, Brent communicates very well.  He was always on email answering our questions, sending us suggested drawings, and explaining things well.  He knows CAD software so he is able to provide electronic versions of proposed changes.  His prices have been more than fair, and the pride in his workmanship is obvious when you see his work.  He also takes care to employ similar-minded subcontractors. He has also done work for other family members.  We recommend him highly.
