We are totally pleased with the professional and detailed work Charlie and his crew performed. He listened to our concerns and made certain suggestions, some of which kept us from making unfortunate choices. He does the paint the proper way, with care to repair and then sand the walls first, to make sure the paint goes on a smooth, clean, flawless surface. He specializes in drywall and paint, but is very knowledgeable about other aspects of home care as well. He kept us informed about progress, next steps, and was understanding and cooperative even when we made a last minute change in a paint color. His entire crew was surprisingly quiet for the number of them working. They were all very pleasant, courteous, and neat, and showed that they respected our home. They took care to protect our furniture, appliances, and floors. Our job took about 2 weeks, but when they left each day, the work areas were clean and tidy and ready for the next day. It was a pleasure to work with them. When we need work like this in the future, Charlie will absolutely be the first one we call.

Rob Roy was the plumber who showed up at our house. He is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. He wasted no time getting started on the job, and he was more than willing to answer questions and provide appropriate explanations. I will definitely use Paradigm Plumbing again, and I will be asking for Rob Roy to be the plumber who is sent out. You cannot go wrong with him! The cost listed above is for 1 1/2 hours labor at $130/hr + 1/2 free estimate + $50 fuel charge for the drive.

We worked with Erickson Construction for about an 8 week period. They were very flexible with their scheduling to accommodate back order situations with some of the bathroom fixtures we ordered that added 4-5 weeks to the overall timeline. Their suggestions about the layout, design and fixtures were very helpful. We were offered options with ways to cut costs and were advised when upgraded materials would save money in the long run.
Our overall experience with Matt Erickson and his team(the employees and sub-contractors all seem to be related -- a real Family business) was a pleasure in every way. The house foundation has some issues due to settling that caused some challenges with the walls, door frames, and finish woodwork. The carpenters had answers for all of the obstacles and difficulties that our house presented along the way. We are very happy with the results and are eager to share our experience with everyone who sees our new Family Room and 2nd Bathroom. The estimates were accurate and the quality of workmanship is of the highest quality. Their honesty and integrity made us feel like we were always their top priority. We would recommend them to any of our family and friends looking to undertake a home improvement project.

The salesman came in and was very aggressive, going down to my basement and stating immediately "you've got some major problems here".  I explained to him that water was coming in from over the sill, not up from the floor.  I also explained some changes we had made to my downspouts that I thought was causing some of the water problems.  When we walked around the yard, he made no mention of grading or other possible problems or solutions.

He stated several times "you've got major problems here."  I had to say to him, let's just relax, he was making me so worried about my house - I bought this house less than a year ago.   He gave me a proposal for $16,500.   When I said I wasn't going to sign up on that day, but please write up a proposal, he wrote it out for $18,300, no longer offering me the Angie's List discount.  He said "buy yourself a couple of wet vacs and have at it.", then he left.  I have had three other basement system companies and now an engineer come in who have all said you need to take care of your grading problems first and that most likely I don't even need a basement waterproofing system.
There are some honest people out there - the salesman for Value Dry is not one of them.

I've probably had 10-12 estimates over the past year so I have quite a bit of experience in this area. With most companies the salesperson would come to the house and give a robotic sales pitch and quote a price that was only good if I took it on spot. Not to mention most were over 8k. Give me a break!! Jack came over with no sales pitch, gave everything to me straight, started right away, didn't take long considering how much was done, gave me a lifetime guarantee on the job AND sump pump, and most of all....was a good all around family man. I know for a fact that he made peanuts on my job because there were several surprises that we didn't expect. He stayed true to his word and kept the price the same which never happens with any type of construction. His team of workers were very pleasant and worked their tails off everyday starting at 8am. Not once were they late and another nice factor was that Jack was on site 90% of the time. So if you want an honest guy who costs a couple thousand dollars less than everybody else, and have a great job done, then he's your man.

This couldn't have gone any better. Nice workers, nice owner. Top notch professionals and craftsmen. I think I got the deal of the century. I hope you will give them a chance. When you have a job this big, you need faith, and I can vouch for 3Gs. We had very bad weather just before work was scheduled to begin (the monsoon rains of June 2009), so the start of the job was very weather dependent and some of his jobs clogged up his schedule. Once we picked a start date, he started when promised. The only complaint I have is that he was slow on the final few days, and I had to call him to find out his follow-through plans. A few days later, he returned and everything was completed 100%. I am very happy that I could give 3Gs my business. Find my youtube video of this job by searching for 3gs driveway job.

Jim DellaGatta contacted us promptly and arrived on time, the consultation went fast and down to the point; great! He knew what he was talking about without wasting any time on a lot of small talk, unlike a lot of other contractors.
