did a great job of analyzing my basement/crawl space humidity problems and solving them at a very reasonable price." The crew was professional and left my basement much cleaner than they found it. I wish I had this done 20 years ago. Our crawl space is so nice we could have a tea party in there.
is a professional and supported his recommendations with technical papers. He fixed one problem I had that was beyond the original scope. I recommend him highly.

"They made sure the utility company came out and marked the yard area before they began to dig. I told them there were very shallow television cables in a specific" area that Verizon did NOT come out to

was very careful around that area and found the cables and no cables were damaged or accidentally cut. They hauled the excess dirt away and replaced the turf so the dug up area was barely noticeable. I would definitely contact them again if I need additional waterproofing work.

Angie's Answers

Mold in a basement is a common problem. My company helps people with this every day. Some of the answers you received were helpful but not all the information is correct. First, you need to eliminate the two main ingrediants that mold needs to survive. The first one is water intrusion. This is a must. I am assuming you have no water intrusion as you make no mention. The second componant that needs to be eliminated is moisture. Moisture is also humidity. Basements need to be kept airtight in the summer months. Some folks have posted that you need air flow in your basement. Nothing could be furthur from the truth. When you open any windows for example, not one micron of air goes out of the basement, Warm humid air is sucked into the basement. Houses suck air into the basement and it meets the cool surfaces and skyrockets humidity. The windows must be kept closed and a dehumidification device installed to ensure humidity stays below 60% humidity. The dehumidifier should be energy star rated and purchasing a seperate humidity guage is a must to monitor the unit's progress. We like to keep our customer's basements at 50% humidity. This eliminates the smell that is active mold spore growth. Once the water and humidity is brought under control. Remove the organic materials that have mold on them. Walls, sheetrock and studs that have been affected. Follow the advice of previous posts as you must ensure that you do not affect the rest of the home. Once removed, install new walls using as much inorganic material as possible. We also install vapor barrier over the walls and seal the floors to stopwater vapor transmission into the basement. Poly plastic is not a acceptable vapor barrier. It is not "zero-perm" and will still allow moisture transmission. It will also crack and break into pieces over the years. A PVC liner rated "zero-perm" is the correct product in this application. Depending how large the basement is and if it is sectioned off will determine the dehumidifier strength. We use the Santa Fe line of dehidifiers as they are super energy efficiant and work like a dehumidifier on steriods. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in Basement Health!

Where is the home located, what is the exterior wall construction and type, how is the space heated?

It could be a whole host of different scenarios that would generate that result.  It is nearly impossible to tell but I would say that most basement moisture problems are a result of bulk moisture intrusion or condensation issues.

Given the deep and hard winter this year, it could be a condensation issue that hadn't previously been shown.

was awesome to work with. He came out to do the estimate and crawled my entire crawl space before diagnosing the issue. He then took the time to explain what needed to be done to fix my standing water issue. He was very patient with my questions. He showed up on time to start the job and finished the job before I got home from work. He agreed to come back after I got home from work and crawled around the space again to show me what all had been done. It has been a month and I have no more standing water in my crawl space! Very professional work. I would recommend

Found water leaking in trough wall and thought I would have a $4,00 to $5,000 repair.

tracked the problem back to a sump pump which was periodically refusing to turn on. He replaced it shortly thereafter, total bill was $275. Expert, responsive, honest, professional. I highly recommend the company.

I first want to say how reliable
Manchester Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was. After dealing with several unreliable companies for various jobs over the summer, it was refreshing to have someone who we could count on.

first came to our house a few weeks ago to give us an estimate for the work. He spent time to assess the problem and gave us two different options for how to solve it. The choices were to install a sump pump or a french (or trench?) drain. We went with the french drain option. His price for this job was by far the best out of all the other estimates we obtained. We scheduled a day to have the work done, and he even called the day before to confirm (which I also very much appreciated).

and his crew showed up when they said they would, and were even a bit early. We reviewed the details before he started and he took pictures and showed me the process along the way. The job took about three hours and they cleaned up good when they were done. I was very happy with all aspects of this company and the work they did!

The installation went great. They first removed some built-in shelves that were covering where the drain needed to go in and then they got to work on the drain. They did a good job getting the drain in and then putting concrete back over it and plastic panels over the base of the walls. They also put the sump pump in and tested the drain to the street. We weren't sure if the drain was clear so this gave us peace of mind. At the end they cleaned everything up completely and gave us a sump pump demonstration. After letting the concrete set for two weeks they came back and reinstalled the shelves, which we appreciated a lot.
The crew was excellent. They have been working with Pioneer for years and know their job well. They did quality work and were good about answering questions and explaining things.
We had been putting off the waterproofing for years because of bad experiences we had heard of in the past, but this went exactly as I wanted. They did excellent work at a fair price. I wish we had gotten the basement waterproofed years ago.

Called them on June 1st and they were very courteous and professional. They scheduled an appointment on June 3rd to come inspect the area in the yard where we were having drainage issues. The gentlemen who showed up was a late by a few hours. Once he arrived he was professional and definitely knowledgeable. They had a minimum charge of $3,000 even though the work would have resulted in something less; we ended up going with another group who didn't have a minimum and therefore it only cost us $1800.

is extremely professional. Very responsive. Once the work began, he regularly checked in with us, often sending email updates as well. His workers were punctual, polite and did a great job (including their clean-up).

also engaged an electrician in order for us to dehumidify the area. Again, he oversaw that work to ensure that it too, went well. Before Crawlspacedoctor, the

, and their entire staff have been a pleasure to work with. Once the weather cooperated and work started, it didn't stop. What I thought was going to take a week, took three days. The work encompassed the entire back and side yards. The crew was polite, punctual, and patient with my two big, goofy dogs. The office staff was helpful and patient as the project kept getting pushed back due to the amount of rain we received this summer. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants work that is done in a timely fashion and done right the first time.

Been having intermittent leaking in the basement and wanted a plan to help eliminate. First year in the house was dry as a bone. Subsequent years had issues with clogged downspouts (two are directly feeding into the foundation a la 1950 french drains) and poor upkeep on my part. Chose this business because of the reviews and the $49 dollar estimate voucher.
Initial meet up was 2 weeks after the purchase of the voucher and resulted in little more than a sales pitch. Upon first entering the house, the employee was shown the basement and within 10 minutes of his arrival began advocating for an interior drain while opening up a folder with payment plans. A solution was presented so I went along with his recommendation and I mentioned exterior drainage and was given an anecdote about a client who improved the exterior drainage only to call on AR&W for an interior drainage system. All together a second well and sump pump, two back up sump pumps, interior drain, and gutter extensions of ~100ft x3 were estimated at over $9000. This is all without any initial observations of the exterior system. He simply walked in and looked at the basement for <5 minutes and suggested and interior drain while touting the companies quality and diminishing competitors.
After speaking with neighbors and coworkers regarding their basement issues, not a single person I knew had an interior drain put in and I called for a revision of the initial plan. The business was accommodating and revised the cost to ~$6000 for one 120ft drainage line, 2 15ft extensions from the gutters, and a back up sump pump. While seeming excessive, it was accepted that this was the least invasive. All the while I was reminded by the salesman that exterior work wasn't as good as an interior drain.
Two weeks ago I had a family crisis and incurred medical expenses that were more important than the house and asked for termination of the contract which they obliged. However, $613 of $1k downpayment was retained for expenses related to estimates. No labor was performed.
A coworker recently told me that she had been looking for business to help with waterproofing in the South Broad Ripple area and she came across the same tactics. When I mentioned the name of the business and the sales employee involved she confirmed the same business. My final impression of this business is that they initially pitch expensive repairs that MAY not be nescessary (as evidenced by lack of exterior analysis) and use pressure tactics to get you to sign on the spot (10% off signing the day of, sign the day of for expedited scheduling).
