My 18 year old Honda 2200 generator would not start. I dropped it off and picked it up a day or two later. Did not try to start it after I got it back. Just had a power outage in August. Put fresh fuel in and it started up after one or two pulls. Just what I needed.

The carburetor on my snow blower was gummed up from forgetting to turn off the gas switch before storing for summer.  I explained the trouble shooting I had done when I got to their shop to drop it off and they said to just bring it in, they thought they knew what the problem would be and would most likely be able to get me on my way in 30 min.  Well, 30 min and $25 got me back to attack the first snow storm of season.  Very happy that they were flexible, and willing to break from the job they were working on to look at it immediately, which saved me having to call a plow and then make a second trip back to the repair shop to pick it up after it was fixed.

    Backyard Power Solutions
I had used Bill before to service my snowblower as well as my lawn tractor. I was having problems with the snowblower not wanting to move forward even on a level surface, let alone going uphill. I called Bill and asked if he could look at it. I left the snowblower outside so he could come at his convenience. He came and looked and then gave me a call. He explained to me what it likely was and gave me an estimate (between 250 and 350) assuming the repair did not require one particular -- and very expensive -- part. Bill said he would not know if I needed that part until the snowblower was disassembled. I told him to go ahead. He came by the next day and picked it up, took it apart, ordered the parts, did the repairs, and brought it back to me. Total cost was 315. At the next snowstorm I unfortunately had the same problem. I called Bill and let him know. He already suspected what the issue was, since there was one other part that was perhaps marginal that he had not replaced. He picked up the snowblower the next day, ordered the part, and had the snowblower back to me in about another week or so. Additional charge? Zero! Can you believe that? So I got quality repairs from a really nice guy at a good price from and he picks up and delivers. You can't beat this. Taking your snowblower to a local shop could cost $159 just for the initial drop-off and diagnosis -- and that is with you dropping it off. Most of these places don't pick up and deliver for free, you know. And if you go to them in the middle of the season, they know they have the upper hand, and they are happy to charge you and make you wait 7 weeks. You really cannot go wrong with Bill and Backyard Power Solutions. I have recommended him to several people. I will certainly be calling him in the future when I need service on my snowblower, lawn tractor, etc.

    Roger's Small Engine
With the recent number of storms and all the snow we've had in New Hampshire over the past month, new snow blowers are very hard to find and service is scheduled out at least a week at most shops.  My snow blower broke two days before the last big storm.  I called Roger's the day before the storm was supposed to hit expecting him to be scheduled out as well.  To my surprise he told me that he couldn't pick up the snow blower at my home, but if I could get it to him in the next half hour or so, he would take a look at it for me.  I loaded it into the van and drove right over to his shop.  Within a couple minutes he found and replaced the bolt that had broken and In a little over an hour I was back home with a working snow blower!  Roger not only replaced the bolt that had broken, he also did a quick 'tune-up' for me, oiling all moving parts, cleaning off the friction drive plate for the rear wheels, making some adjustments to controls that were loose, and topping off the engine oil.  I used Roger's once before for a lawn mower repair and both times I've been very pleased with his service.  Roger is very knowledgeable about the equipment he works on and both times I left his shop feeling like I had been treated as a friend that he was willing to go out of his way to help in a tight situation.  Roger definitely gets all my small engine business in the future!

I talked with Mr. Andy Smih, the Parts Manager. He checked his computer but, due to the age of my tractor, he couldn't find the part. He then walked the isles in the parts warehouse trying to match the part visually with no luck. He finally located the correct part at one of their other stores and had it sent to the Tilton store. Spending more than half an hour with a customer for a $22.00 dollar sale is what I call excellent customer service. ody> ne who asks for a recommendation.

Came when he said he would and picked up and delivered the lawn tractor on time. Everything was fixed and he even checked the belts and sharpened the blades. Clear and honest communication, he did not go over his price quote, and kept me informed.

    Roger's Small Engine
This is the third time that I've used Roger's services and he certainly doesn't disappoint.  The first time I used him was to replace the belt on my late-model Craftsman snow blower.  He not only replaced the belt but also cleaned and adjusted the carburetor because he noticed that it wasn't running right.  That snow blower had never run better (even when it was brand new from Sears).  And added to that the total cost came in almost half what the big lawn mower / snow blower store in town wanted to charge just to replace the belt. Now to the lawn mowers.  They were included with the purchase of our house - older 1990's vintage units, but I thought since they were Snapper we could still get some years out of them.  After using the rider mower a couple of times last season, I could tell that something was not working right (if it was a car I'd say it had ground a few gears and had a bad clutch).  I happen to mention it to Roger when I picked up my snowblower and he thought the repair would likely be simple (lawn mowers aren't too complicated) and that it was a quality machine that was worth putting money into.  Well, it turns out that the previous owners had attempted a repair to the transmission only to make it worse.  In addition some mice had made a home inside the mower over the winter.  So his original estimate of $300 (which included a new seat) went up to $425 for everything.  But it was worth every penny.  He power washed both mowers so they look practically brand new, replaced plastic pieces (with official Snapper OEM) that I didn't even know the mower was missing, replaced rusted and chewed wiring, and did all the basic seasonal start-up stuff (changed the oil, air filter, sharpened the blade, etc.).  The Snapper can now pop a wheelie!  I will definitely be going to Roger again for service.
