The food was absolutely divine and the service was flawless! Really top-notch and to a standard that would be expected of the very best caterers in the country. The staff introduced themselves at each table and then went about making sure we were well-taken care of. Maggie oversaw the staff at our event, but we met and liked Matt too. Everything was set up efficiently in the morning and early afternoon of the event, and everything was meticulously cleaned up before they left that evening after the reception. I highly, highly recommend these folks.

we have used this rest before in the past and we are always welcomed with a smile and good conversation and clean tables and utensils, they had made us fell like they were there for us and was always making sure they had every thing we needed and we have always left with a smile on our face, we have even used there delivery service and we had gotten our food in a resonable time and it was still hot and yummy. thanks angie's list for providing a svc that we can let people know whos good and whos not.

Truly Scrumptious Catering & Reflections Banquet H
Wedding, 9/24/2011.Food was tasty- positive.  Exactly as ordered- positive. Quantity of food- positive. Plenty of parking-positive. Clean banquet facilities-positive. Now the negatives:  Food: We ordered Hors D'oeuvres, all that was provided for serving was toothpicks. (Self serve- nobody at the food/buffet table to actually cater).  Very difficult to get capers or sauce from chicken piccata dish with a toothpick. None of the foods had placecards, or even one general signage with offerings/descriptions of the food at the head of the table.  Our guestlist included a diabetic, a Muslim (no pork) and 2 nut allergies.  Guests shouldn't have to physically go into kitchen to find someone to ask what the food choices are.  And, when they had a (young) server at the table refilling, she was asked about the Brie appetizer, "It's Brie." And when asked (by the grandmother of the bride) how it was prepared/what were the ingredients "It's Brie" (It was a brown sugar, I can't remember if there were nuts, wrapped in phyllo dough- very tasty!  but difficult to serve with only crackers.  If I had 5-6 guests in my home, it would be ok to "dip", but with a wedding with a paid head count of over 100, there should have been a serving utensil, not just crackers).  The steamship round carving table had various spreads and croissants, none of the croissants were sliced, and the young teen-aged carver didn't know what kind of spreads were being offered, "I think this might be a mustard-type" etc.  Banquet Hall: Ms. Tonya (the owner/caterer) is EXTREMELY possessive of the sound system.  She would not let anyone touch it.  But, when it was time for first dance, father-daughter dance etc...we had to search for her in the kitchen to put in our pre-labeled CDs..  We had contracted for the catering as well as the hall. There should have been one contact person for the hall and one for the catering, and they should have been visible, circulating and available. It was disheartening that neither the Bride or the Groom, or the parents were once asked "How is everything?  Is there anything you need?  Is everything ok?"  By the time I (mother of the bride) had gone into the bathroom, 4 of the stalls were out of toilet paper.  To me that is unacceptable. It is expected that females will use lots of TP throughout an event, and the facilities should have been restocked.  Also, you are not allowed into the hall the night before to set up (unless you want to pay an add'l $175/hour.)  This makes it very difficult to set up in the two hours allotted just prior to the event "because we'll have kitchen staff here preparing food, so you can come then." The grounds: Needs major landscaping.  Our guests were ushered to the back patio area, overlooking the gazebo and the pond.  No walkway.  Ladies in high heels walking over tree roots and field-like grass to get to the stair landing.  The grounds are skimpy with landscaping (at best).  No flowering bushes, no mulching, no decorative ferns/greens.  Empty landscaping beds. Two large planters on either side of the gazebo had bright yellow mums.  Wedding colors were pastel blue/green palette (Caterer was informed of wedding colors).  We had to last minute run to WalMart to get white flowering mums.  Only $5 apiece, it isn't the cost, it's the effort to provide neutrals for the event.  A mosquito/gnat patio torch is needed.  Beside the pond, the evening before the event we were allowed to walk the grounds with the Justice of the Peace.  The insects were extremely bothersome. Contract:  Had agreed in contract for extra chairs, but rec'd phone call 2 nights before asking if we had ordered any chairs.  Then misunderstanding about qty of chairs.  (Had 100 guests accommodated, do you really think I would only order 50 chairs??  We were charged for/paid for 50 chairs. 50 were supposed to come with contract, and we paid for add'l 50.  Then two days prior was told needed to pay $3.75 for each add'l chair over 50.  Didn't add up. Why would I only order 50?? In the end, Tonya did state (begrudgingly) "I'll eat the extra 50 chairs' fee, and they will be there". Effort was made to make it right, but I felt like I was being charged  extra  fees last minute.) When people read this, you might think I expected a lot and am complaining about minor details.  Well, we paid a good amt of money for this event.  The details are what is expected when an event is CATERED.  If it was all family putting together an event, that would be different.  I was paying for a professional service that I feel felt short of my expectations.  In talking with other guests, they felt the same way.  The staff appeared young and inexperienced, they didn't smile and weren't very cordial, we felt as though they "just couldn't wait to get this event over".  The only time Ms. Tonya said thank you was as I was handing her my credit card to settle our account after the event.  And, even then...  there was not one question of "How was everything?  Did you enjoy the day?"  NOTHING!  That was very disheartening. My ending statement would be, "don't be fooled by the website or any consultations you have prior to your event."  Our experience was FAR from the professional service portrayed on the website."  I live in Vermont and my daughter is a resident in Columbia.  My daughter had met with Ms. Tonya prior to the event, and again when I had visited the area.  The food was GREAT and plentiful!!  The hall and the catering details were lacking.

When we started talking to these people they indicated flexibility on pricing and some price points that were attractive. We then put down a deposit of $3,000 to secure a date without an agreement on the menu or overall price (bad idea). After that, we were only shown menu plans that were much more expensive than those initially shown to us and learned about additional hidden costs. We tried to start working with them, requesting alternatives. Then we had no call backs or e-mailed responses for a period of more than two months. Finally, we sent them a letter indicating that we were going with a different caterer and asking for our money back. That letter was sent more than eight months before the event, but they declined to return our money. They run a good restaurant, but my advice based on our experience is - stay away from the catering service.
