1st day of install we got rained out, but he returned a couple days later (due to my schedule) and finished the job. They took the time to make sure I knew how to run the new stove. One thing i want to add.. I as all set to buy the best they had on offer. They took the time to explain why a cheaper stove would actualy serve my house better then the more expensive one i had 1st chosen with better effeciency and much easier and cheaper part replacement on pieces that wear out (like the burn basket) All in all a great experence with people that really knew what they were doing!

CT was the tech that fairly quickly determined the combustion blower was dead. A bird had found its way from outside down into the exhaust and caused the blower to seize. He replaced the blower and then thoroughly cleaned another fan, which I didn't know existed, located underneath the stove. The stove now runs like it is brand new!

I have an 1820 house that has seen many contractors over the past 4 years. Kevin is the only one I would call again. Kevin was extremely professional. He communicated very well, I knew when he would come and what he would do that day. He and Dave did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and were respectful of my home. I highly recommend him.

Paul & Paul….father/son team absolutely exceptional. They were immediately and beautifully responsive to our call to assess what was a partially torn down fireplace front (resulting from major house renovations) and building an arched brick separator within an existing fireplace that was much too large to be cost effective in burning or having a gas/electric insert that would be appropriate to its size. Result: log storage on one side (for our wood burning stove) and a much more reasonable size for our insert. They showed up when promised and worked quickly, cleaning up as they went along. Beautiful work! As an ‘aside’, wonderful personalities…both of them. We highly recommend their work! Jim and Kathryn Scanlan

I would like to start by saying that after searching for a mason and getting several bids, I came across Southern Maine Masonry, a father and son team. From the get go, we were very impressed with their professionalism. They explained the scope of the job in detail and worked in a very timely manner. We were living on the premises during construction and they kept the job site clean and organized. They were respectful and courteous throughout the job. I would highly recommend them for any skilled masonry work, and would certainly use them again in the future.

These guys are great! Very friendly and reasonable. I was so pleased with the chimney and fireplace that I had them do a stone patio/walkway and cultured stone all around my foundation. Prices are very reasonable. Their experience shows highly in their work. They were recommended by stone yards and residents in the area. A pleasure to do business with and will be using them again in the near future!

I have a very old home - 1780 build date - and needed some work to the existing chimneys to get the fireplaces in working order again.  I had to have 3 first floor chimneys lined, caps installed on the top, and had the exterior portion of the chimney (above roof line) re-pointed/faced.  The prices above include the cost of the liners, installation and masonry work. I found Paul on Angies List and had him come out to give me some estimates.  I don't have much to compare the prices to as I haven't had to do chimney work before, but in speaking with others, the price was reasonable.   Paul is a pleasure to deal with so it was well worth the money - he and his son did the work quickly, left me a clean house and made sure to follow up.   Paul is also extremely responsive - he calls you when he says he will call you, shows up when he says he will show up, and does the work in the timeframe he says he will do it in.  Very trustworthy and professional.   During this winter, I have also had him come out to do roof shoveling on multiple occasions.  He came quickly (even showed up in 20 mins one day) to get the job done.  These guys are great!

It went well as far as we know. They came out and did an inspection. Recommended some  corrective action. They came out on the 15 and performed the actions. 7/15.

Steve was professional and very prompt with communication and scheduling. He explained what he was going to do at every step, and was careful to put down a drop cloth in front of the fireplace while cleaning. He also tried to fix the loose glass doors that had been installed, and while he was not able to fix it, he relayed the information to me on what needed to be done to tighten up the doors.  Steve was able to adjust his schedule a bit to accommodate my needs and come a bit earlier, which was great. He also put up with my dogs "helping" him with his job. Steve also honestly answered my questions about the work involved to put in propane, and also provided some suggestions for future work that would need to be done to cap the chimneys. He was very clear to indicate that it was work that was not required right now, but would be required in the future and he gave a rough estimate of the cost expectation for my information. I would definitely call him in the future and would recommend. I can't comment on the price, as I have not had this work completed previously.
