  • We knew we likely had radon issues because the realtor told us the reading was 16. Midwest confirmed with their tests that it was 14. I engage them as the least expensive of the full service, reputable, radon mitigation services in the area. Our home has two crawlspaces separated by a finished basement so it created a problem for the budget services like the Radon SWAT Team. The fact that they would not even send someone out to estimate suggested that they were going to be less effective at dealing with my issues. Midwest came out on a couple of different occasions because of the delay that we had in committing to the treatment. They also were willing to spend a lot of time with me trying to design a system that would be low profile and as well as effective. I was very pleased to see them try to keep our expense as little as possible and not install two systems. I was also pleased that they were did willing to do the extra work to put the fan in the attic above the garage and virtually eliminate any signs of active treatment. They were flexible in their scheduling and brought out a crew of three to do the work. They were fast and efficient and were able to be in and out of our home that day. They wanted to determine if the initial system was adequate to lower the reading over all before considering installing a secondary system. Thankfully, their multi-day analysis showed a level of one. I confirmed it several weeks later by ordering a test online that also came back as one. While the $2645 that we spent was a lot, we no longer have to worry about radon or its impact on the salability of the house.

  • Greg did an amazing job on our home inspection, he found so many things we wouldn’t have known to look for at all and saved us so much time and money finding all the flaws and problems with the home, in addition to even finding some pretty dangerous fire hazards so we can fix those before we move in! All that while being incredibly friendly and personable, and he even invited us to join him for the inspection so we could see everything in person that would be on the report! He then completed the 42 page report the night of the inspection, which we highly appreciated having that back so quickly to begin immediately fixing what needed it before closing on the house! Then on top of that, Foundation 2 Rooftop’s website had an entire page of recommended quality contractors that was easily organized by Trade/specialty so we could find the best team to complete the work that we needed done, and that was much appreciated! Absolutely would recommend Greg at Foundation 2 Rooftop, and I will be using them again in the future for my next home purchase, wouldn’t want anyone else but them!

  • Ran a couple self-tests for Radon in my basement. Readings of 9.7 and 10.6 so it was obvious something needed to be done. Checked various contractors and determined that Prof House Doctors would best meet our needs. Joel and crew showed up at the house on time and we discussed the best places to put the mitigation system. Left them to do the install and in about two to three hours they were done. Ran the exhaust up the north side of the house where it would be least visible from the street and where it would cause the least amount of work and penetrations of the house. Since I already had a 15 amp electrical line available complete with breaker, Joel and crew just installed an outlet box and wired the circuit to the extraction fan. After completing the install, Professional House Doctors set up a test for Radon and let it run for a couple of days. Reading came back at 0.6 which is way under the EPA limit and makes the house safe for occupation. We would recommend Joel and Professional House Doctors to anyone needing Radon Mitigation. They were professional, quick, efficient, and the right price. Great company and great guys to work with!

  • We paid $1300 for tear out of part of a wall, taking out a wall-length workbench, tear out of ceiling drywall where the duct work was, and mitigation. We paid $1700 for the remediation. The insulation/drywall contractor did a great job. I would give her a plug, but can't remember her name. I did have to buy a higher quality paint, though, since the contractor's choice wouldn't cover the hideous pink garage walls we had. While Alan gave the estimates, Terry supervised the work. I am satisfied with amount and quality of work for the price. We needed the work done ASAP and they complied.

  • We had a roof leak and mold in our attic and had several roofers out to address the problem, only to still have the same issues. We contacted Everlast Exteriors and found out that the mold in our attic was caused by improper ventilation. Everlast replaced the metal around our chimney, added bathroom exhaust vents as well as soffit vents and remediated all of the mold from our attic. We haven’t had a single issue since! Everlast Exteriors also backed their work with a lifetime warranty. They did a great job for a reasonable price and we were very impressed with their knowledge and the quality of work. I will definitely recommend Everlast Exteriors to anyone looking for exterior home repairs!!

  • Rick Wayman did an impressive job covering just about every system in our house. My engineering background did put his work under scrutiny and he really excelled ! Plumbing, electrical, and all building parameters, materials, construction, he would also offer opinions on some life expectancies of home HVAC, which is so valuable to have. Extremely thorough, precise and methodical, he also has a great list of home improvement vendors. Well done Rick.

  • The tester arrived on time and was very professional. He looked throughout the entire basement and garage. He said he would email us the report within a couple days. He asked for full payment when he left our home. A week later when we had received no report, I contacted him and received the report within 24 hours. The report was detailed, thorough, and well-written. 2.5 weeks after the examination, I received an email asking me to write them another check because they had no record of payment. The check had cleared my account a week earlier. It was another week before they could furnish me a receipt for insurance purposes. The impression is that they know their business well, but are very poor managers.

  • I can't over-state how emphatically I recommend F2R and Greg's services for your home inspection. This was my third home purchase in as many states, this home inspection was far and away the best I have seen; it surpassed others by a mile. Greg is a truly independent operator in a field that I've come to understand (through multiple sources) is filled with shady actors that don't look out for the consumer. For example, while inspection companies can't be owned by realtors they can pay a "co-advertising fee" to the realtor in a very shady roundabout way of bribing for referrals. I can assure you you'll be happy with your F2R inspection. He's thorough to the point where some realtors don't like working with him: I saw evidence of this phenomenon, take note of this as it's a good thing. He's not afraid to tell the buyer the whole truth and point out all flaws, which sometimes makes a deal fall through and a realtor lose hefty commission. At the end of the day you'll be armed with all the information you possibly need, armed to negotiate repairs, and the purchase decision will be yours. Again, don't ever let your realtor recommend a title company or a home inspector: assume they are looking out for #1, protecting the sale and not necessarily your best interests. Greg has zero concern for the realtor, and every concern for the purchaser. Again, he's worth every penny, don't think twice.

  • These guys are great. If you are buying a home, hire them. They will find any problem with a property. Not all homeowners know what is wrong with their homes. Some of them try hide issues. Then you have agents "working for you" who just want the commission (sale). Sorry to say, but they are not your friend! Your agent wants that sale and then he/she will be on the the next buyer/seller. Back F2R: I used them twice! My agent hated me. Yes, twice. I didn't buy the first home because of all the problems we found. Think I saved myself over $20k (and that house is still on the market). The second time I used F2R, we found a few small issues and they helped me negotiate $3000 off the sales price. Highly recommend!

  • I called Professional House Doctors after having 2 local radon mitigation companies (Waterproofing companies) give me a bid on mitigation. I had done my own testing and had a level of 26 (less than 4 is what is desirable) The First company came out (a salesman with no practical experience) and spent almost 2 hours explaining how bad radon is (I already knew this or I would not have wanted to install a system) and we would need a special system since our level was so high. He wanted $2400. which was about 1400 more than I wanted to pay.  The second company also a waterproofing company the salesman? came out went straight to basement then outside total of about 5 minutes and said he would e-mail me a quote.  I still have not heard from them even after calling back.. The owner of PHS came out looked at the basement and outside and explained what he would do and gave me a reasonable quote.   His men were out about a week later and installed the system in about 2-3 hours.  System looks good and after post testing my level was .3 about 25.7 lower than what it was previously.  I liked the way they came in gave me a reasonable price and got the job done.
