  • Upon arrival, Jeff Byee donned shoe covers and spread a large cloth around the fireplace to keep our carpet and the area around the fireplace. He worked quickly and efficiently in repairing my gas fireplace. He explained what he was doing and what didn't need to be done, something that was both educational and gratifying. I was pleased with the final cost, too. I knew I was dealing with a true professional and decent man and I wouldn't hesitate to use CKB again and recommend him to others.

  • Nick arrived promptly. After checking, he said the fan was not running, and he speculated that not enough insulation surrounded the pipe leading up the chimney. He gave us some ideas for changing the fireplace, making it more efficient. Updating it. When we tried to pay him for coming, he said he had not done any work and wouldn't ask for money. We insisted paying him, however, for his trip charge. We will look at ideas at their showroom and, most likely, do some renovating when it's warmer.

  • Now when we did the bid's it was warm and by the time we had several companies FINALLY sent us bid's. Everyone is a month out on the work, it's now after Thanksgiving. But Ryan said he could still get it accomplished and of course the warm Thanksgiving turned into a COLD December. But Ryan came and did his thing. He had advised to remove the old style chimney and update it with a more modern stack for the fireplace and another smaller one for the water heater vent. Ryan to myself and my wife is a very self conscience laborer of doing things for the long term and the Right Way! O' he does have a chimney sweep license card. He worked some very long days working till as late as 8:30 pm sometimes with his headlight flashlight. He works at his own speed to make sure it is to his personal satisfaction of the project. We would definitely have Ryan work on other projects, which Chimney's is not just his only profession. It is just after Christmas 2017 and of course Spring will determine any leaks. But I had asked him for pictures and those look really nice on the roof and inside the attic. Thank you Ryan the finished project looks wonderfurl.

  • I contacted Ryan via Angie’s List stating the issue & received a very quick reply with a phone number. I called the number and left a message. Almost 3 weeks later, I still haven’t had a reply. (And in that time the other company I contacted replied, returned my call, came out & completed service.)

  • I spoke with Janie after contacting her through the site. She told me up front what it might cost to inspect the chimney, and we set a date about 3 weeks out. She called to verify our appointment a week earlier than scheduled, which worked out better for me. She was about an hour late, however was extremely knowledgeable, professional (even taking off her shoes), and informative. There was no repair or replacement to be made, but when we need something done in the future, this is who I’ll call.

  • It went great! Dan Claxton (owner - who does the estimates) and all of his workers are outstanding. The worker's attention to detail and courtesy was awesome. The evening before, each worker would call to confirm I would be home or they could get access to our house. Overall the project took six visits: remove old unit (1 full day), install new unit (1 full day - Scott worked from 8 am to 8 pm to get it done), drywall and repair walls (2 days - total of 5 hours), final installation (1 visit - 45 minutes), extra final check (after drywall - 30 minutes). Overall, I was impressed with everyone and would highly recommend them. Suggestion - prior to meeting with Dan, search out different fireplace designs to help narrow down the choices. We ended up going through four iterations - it probably would have been one or two if we had done some homework ahead of time on different types of fireplaces.

  • Great service, very professional, excellent work done. As for the extra cost, this is pretty typical, as every time I've purchased one of these from AL'there always seems to be 'more work needed.' This one however was legit, as the work did indeed need to be done.

  • He was our third bid and all three seemed to have the same basic approach, yet he came in from $500-$2500 less than the other two. Despite significant family illness that delayed his initial start date, he still finished on time, on budget and with a very nice functional and aesthetic result!

  • It went very well. They were punctual, friendly and courteous. They protected the house and furniture in the area they worked in. They were careful not to make or leave a mess. The work was done professionally and efficiently. I was very satisfied with the results of their work. They took the time to answer the questions I had regarding our fireplaces.

  • John was prompt, professional and courteous and very knowledgeable about my fireplace. He was thorough, kept everything neat and clean and even went the extra mile to fix my damper chain that had broken off. He also patched a couple of small cracks in the fireplace. Great customer service! I would definitely recommend them to a friend!
