    Our furnace had been shutting off before warming the house to the temperature set on the thermostat. There was a tag showing that Aksarben ARS had done service on the unit in the past so I had them come out.  The technician, Michael, told me the primary heat exchanger was faulty and recommended more than $4000 in repairs. The furnace had ���the potential to become hazardous, of leaking the products of combustion or flame roll out���. He had a second technician, Eric, come out to confirm this. I am not the homeowner so I certainly was not going to authorize anything. In my experience, when a HVAC technician found a hazardous furnace they turned off the gas supply and locked it, but Aksarben had me sign a ���breached heat exchanger acknowledgment��� form. They said they would send someone out when she got home and agreed to come back at 5:00. I had used Complete Comfort in Ralston in the past and decided to get a second opinion. I wasn't going to tell them it had been looked at and removed the warning tag. The homeowner was home by this time and told them Aksarben had been out. He immediately asked, ���Did they tell you the heat exchanger was bad?��� Jalen looked it over and said the heat exchanger was in ���good condition���, cleaned a dirty flame sensor and recommended using less-restrictive air filters. The unit has worked fine since. The homeowner called Michael and cancelled the appointment. Incredibly, he claimed that he had no way to contact them (because this must be the only person in this business who doesn't have a cell phone). They were told that no one would be home. He miraculously got ahold of them since they did not show up. I posted on about getting a second opinion and only one company was explicitly named- Aksarben ARS. Here are some of the comments after one day on line: ���I���ve had a conversation with XXXX XXXX who is in this nextdoor group. I would give him a try. He confirmed that Aksarben ARS has a reputation for this sort of thing.��� ���Agree always get a second opinion, and if you don't feel comfortable get a third. I know aksarben for a fact pushes for the SALE. They were pushing for $800.00 temp repair then $1800.00 repair within a year, leading to a $4500.00 replacement. Called XXXXXXXX, over the phone they diagnosed the situation and said nothing was wrong, did have them come out just to check it out and clean it, they found a circuit unplugged (recently) they plugged it in cleaned it all up(aksarben charged for cleaning it just week before). Was on aksarben's SERVICE plan too! XXXXXXXX charges=$108.00 Sorry little biased here. All in all YES always get a second opinion!��� ���Aksarben is the worst��� ���some HVAC are dishonest, some techs not intelligent enough to diagnose properly. Get a second opinion. Heard good about XXXXXXX. Also an independent person I know, XXX at XXX-XXX-XXXX has helped me personally and some of my clients. Early Last summer Aksarben told a couple they needed to replace the AC. XXX came by and made a $130.00 repair. The Ac worked fine all thruout the season.��� ���Also had a bad experience with Aksarben. Will not use them again.���

    I am leaving this review to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding work by KC Mechanical in installing a new Trane heating and cooling system in our home. Even to my untrained eye, the quality of the workmanship is very apparent. The whole system has the look of work performed by a skilled craftsman, as opposed to someone just trying to get in and out as quick as possible. In particular, I appreciated how neat and orderly and well secured all the piping and drain lines ended up! I also wanted to pay my compliments to their installation technician, Mike. He was extremely courteous and professional and at the start and end of every day checked with us to make sure everything was OK. We really appreciated his care and concern and good-natured attitude! I couldn't be more impressed and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to recommend KC Mechanical to the next person I hear asking for a recommendation for a trustworthy HVAC company.

    Service, and sales were great. Install went quicker then I expected and quicker then they quoted. The new bigger air filter wouldn't fit with my hot water heater, so they discounted my bill. Only issue is they didn't patch my ceiling in the spare bathroom (needed to add pipes to outside of house for more efficient furnace).

    Jordan and team arrived early and got right to work. Remove old furnace and a/c and installed new units in just over 4 hours. This included bringing old electric up to code as well as upgrading intake and exhaust for furnace. Took the time to review work done and changes made. They did a great job.

    Installers arrived on time and completed job before leaving. Jeff checked on job partway thus. Brian/Bow kept us updated as the day went on in process of installation. We were instructed in use before they left.

    The rep was able to fix the issue and because it was a second opinion they didn't charge us at all.  Fred's is going to be our go-to business and we will always use them for regular service and issues that may arise.  Thank you for your wonderful customer service from start to finish, I can't say enough good things abou them!!

    Overall, my family was completely satisfied w/ the work, professionalism and responsiveness of River City Heating and Air.  
    Just as the weather was beginning to get cold, our furnace began having issues. The thermostat would click the furnace on.  Then, after 2-5 seconds, the furnace would go off without a sound from the thermostat. With two newborns, we naturally wanted this solved ASAP.  We called River City and they came out the same day.  I initially saw the $75.00 furnace maintenance coupon on line and asked my wife to have the tech apply that.  I was pretty confident this service would solve our problem.  However, we found out that this had to be purchased prior to the tech's arrival.  I spoke to Mindy, their office manager.  She agreed to charge us only for one hour of work vs. the maintenance AND the hour of tech's time that the tech initially charged us for (this is what discussed w/ her just as the tech arrived).  Mindy was professional, responsive, understanding and thoughtful. In the end, it was a dirty flame sensor which the maintenance would have covered.
    I'll definitely call River City again should we have any heating or air issues.
