Inspection and the report was very detailed.  He was able to do our inspection on a very short notice ( I called him on Tuesday and he did it on Friday).  He made good recommendations on any repairs that were needed and was especially thorough on safety problems. The person I booked the appointment with was very pleasant too.  I would highly recommend them.

Joel came out a couple times - once when we were first looking at providers, and then after we decided on PHD. He was very courteous and professional in providing the information we needed to make decisions and to know what was going to happen.
When the guys came out early on March 16th (and on time!) they went right to work boring test holes in the basement floor in order to determine the best place for the exhaust pipe. After doing that and decisind on the best location, they told us what was going to be done. Hole drilled, dirt scooped out, piping installed inside, piping installed outside with fan, sealed around all entrances, preliminary electrical wiring done - all in about 4 hours or so. Job site cleaned up and departed about 5 hours after arrival. Electrician came by later and completed the wiring for the exhaust fan in the system. Very pleased with the overall work done by PHD. Highly recommended.

We had decided to use Greg based on the reviews we found on Angie's List. So we were surprised when our agent called saying that the sellers' agent for the house said she would not let him in the house. Given the amount we were about to invest in a house we were not willing to go with a second choice on inspectors based on one realtor's opinion- especially since she had a financial conflict of interest. Long story short, we had to threaten to walk away from the sale before the agent caved. Our impression of Greg was that he was professional and very thorough. He not only pointed out immediate concerns, but things to keep an eye on and things that aren't critical but to consider changing. He did a good job of explaining what things were important and what things weren't. I felt like he was fair and thorough in his assessment. We did end up buying the house even though it needed some repairs. One of the complaints of the realtor was that Greg scares people away from buying houses. For as large of an investment as a house is, I wanted to make that decision with as much information as possible. I definitely recommend Greg and would advise anyone who meets with realtor resistance to use their best judgement. For us it came down to trusting the Angie's List reviews over the realtor's opinion.

I'm a first-time homebuyer relatively new to Colorado, so I signed up for Angie's List to help me identify Denver-area's best home inspector (ASHI-certified).  After reading ~40 reviews of HomeSpy Property Inspections, Inc. on Angie's List and another site, I contacted Chris via phone & e-mail on 30 Nov 11 to perform a radon test ($165) and home inspection ($455) on a property I'm under contract for.  Since the EPA requires radon tests to run for at least 48 hrs, Chris came out on 2 Dec 11 and set up the radon testing monitoring equipment in the basement.  Three days later, I met with Chris (he arrived early) for the home inspection and to review the results of the radon test.  Unfortunately, it snowed the night/morning before the inspection (snow/ice covered the driveway/deck/roof) and was 10 degrees F outside.  Still, Chris made the best of it and took the time to explain his observations/recommendations (which he annotated in his notebook/photos).  After completing the exterior inspection, we entered the house and Chris inspected it from top to bottom (including the attic and basement crawlspace).  After concluding the inspection (~4 hrs. later), Chris presented me the invoice and a 3-ringer binder w/ a homeowner's reference list.  Later that evening he e-mailed me a 28-page inspection report (.pdf file).  All in all, I feel better and more informed about my upcoming purchase of the property.  Bottomline: if you're looking for a reliable professional to conduct your radon test and property home inspection, you'll be hard pressed to find one better than Chris.

This winter, Jason from Thrasher Basement completed the installation of a radon mitigation system in our multi-level residence. His team performed a vital service to my family by reducing our radon level from over 16pCi/L to under 3pCi/L (less than 4pCi/L represents a safe level). It also produced the unexpected benefit of removing a stale house odor we've been unable to get rid of for over a dozen years. They were very accommodating in determining the exact placement of the entire mitigation system and were meticulous about cleaning-up their work area when the project was completed. We were impressed that the production manager, Aaron, stopped by during a portion of the installation to provide us additional assurance that some minor modifications (necessary for our particular residence) were being performed properly and to check on our satisfaction with the project. Every question I asked during the process was thoroughly answered with courtesy and a pleasant demeanor. Of course, this wonderful experience all started with a very encouraging visit from the Thrasher sales rep, Don, who set up the radon gas testing equipment and patiently explained to my wife and I all of our options, based on the test results. Don was extremely pleasant and at no time placed even the slightest pressure on us accept the services of Thrasher Basement, though he spoke highly of their capabilities and commitment. The folder of professional and informative brochures he left us was helpful in understanding the health risks and remedies we had to consider. And we also found other helpful resources at the Thrasher Basement website. From start to finish, our experience with the Thrasher staff was exceptional. We highly recommend their services to anyone in the Nebraska, Western Iowa, and Northwestern Missouri region.
