The staff and doctors are very friendly and have taken great care of us each year. They are always eager to answer any questions we or our daughter might have. I will continue to use them in the future.

The office staff was extremely cold and sterile when I first arrived. It was clear payment was an issue to them, and I had insurance coverage on the procedure. As a provider of health care services myself, I appreciate the importance and necessity of issues surrounding payment; however, there are polite and professional ways to address these issues without being offensive, and actually rude.

    |The doctor reflected what I experienced from the front staff. This practice appears to be a husband and wife physician team. The husband treated me; however, while I was waiting, I did meet the wife and she was actually friendly and warm. I waited for 25 minutes for the doctor to examine me, and this was not due to me having to wait for the eyes to dilate. The tech person was also rude and cold. I actually felt like a number and one more patient to see to get money out of. I won't be returning for future services.

Appointment was on-time and the eye exam was painless. Quick service and very helpful. I found that the people who help you for find the perfect frames are by far the best I have ever seen. I will always go here for glasses.

It was extremely well. It's 10 out of 10. They have courteous staff and very good doctors. I like the way they treat people, it's nice. They're extremely helpful. They don't rush you. They explained everything really well. I would definitely recommend them. It's not a busy place. It's easy to get appointments. I called and they had something available and I got in. Their office environment is very clean and very good. I was out of there in 25 minutes. That's the only place I'll be going back to.

This is another company out to make the BIG money.
I called to make an appointment to get an eye exam. They said that they took my insurance. I had to cancel the appointment. Several months later, my husband calls to make an appointment. They tell him, Oh you have such and such insurance, which by the way was incorrect. I call them and tell them what insurance we have and explained to them, that they had accepted our insurance before. The gal rudely says, and quot;Oh I never heard of THAT insurance.and quot; The gal shoots my call to someone else, and she tells me that they do not take the vision portion of my insurance but they do take the and quot;MEDICALand quot; portion. I know that they did several months ago. Funny how that works. I asked why the change, She said, and quot;It was the staff's decision. She was not as rude as the first gal but she was condescending.

I get the impression that they are only out to make the BIG money. I will state my reasons and you can judge for yourself. The reason for my low grade is because when I called to ask if they took my insurance for eye exams, contacts and/or glasses, the lady was rather rude... like I was bothering her. I was astounded by the fact that they do not take the Vision portion of my Insurance. Oddly enough, they DO take the MEDICAL portion of my insurance. The Vision portion includes eye exams, glasses and contacts. The medical portion includes things like laser surgery etc. (medical). I am guessing that they would rather use the medical portion of the insurance as it pays them to do so. This only compounds the insurance issues we are faced with today. I also feel that if they want to cherry pick a portion of our insurance, (because the payoff is bigger ), then maybe the insurance company should not allow them to use ANY portion of the insurance. I will also lobby for my insurance provider to do something about this. I am finding this to be a common practice.

I had lasik surgery by Dr. Lance Kugler (Dec 2012).
I asked for nearsighted correction in right eye / farsighted correction in left eye.
I received farsighted correction in BOTH eyes with NO nearsightedness.
So I cannot see my computer nor face in the mirror across the sink without glasses.
Though they said it would not be a problem to refund my money I still haven't seen a dime returned.
Oh by the way they tired to CONVINCE me I was informed before the surgery that my eyes might just heal this way.
They did try very hard to have me have another surgery to correct this (wonder why they think that a second surgery would help my eye heal correctly... that is IF they truly believe there was no surgical error).

I went in for my yearly routine eye exam and was greeted by the front desk with a friendly hello. They got my paperwork all in order and took my co-pay. I then waited about 2-3 minutes and was called back by one of the doctors assistants. She went through my history for any changes and did the preparatory work for the doctor. The doctor came in, friendly as always, and completed the exam. He answered all my questions about what he was doing to my eyes. I then asked about getting contact lenses and he took the time to tell me all about the different types of lenses for me and helped set up an appointment for me to come back and get setup.

Because I saw him my insurance would not pay for me to go to the ophthalmologists. Dr. Bares did not check my vision, he only checked for signs of diabetic retinopathy. I will continue to use his services in the future.
