    Mr Granite LLC
I contacted Mr. Granite LLC on Wed, Jan 27 to get a quote for cutting some granite that I was going to purchase elsewhere.  I provided the website; the granite I was buying was two 8-ft kitchen counter slabs that were pre-fabricated and already had edging.  I just needed cutouts for my sink, faucet, and slide-in range oven; I was even going to install it myself, so literally all I needed were a few cuts made.  The two ladies who answered my calls (Jennifer and I don't know the other's name) were nice.  They passed my measurements and requests to the owner, Armando.  Armando sent me a quote with a fabrication charge, which would have been $690.  He was aware that the granite was already pre-fabricated, so he was essentially insisting that I be charged for services that would not even be performed.    One of the ladies affirmed that he did know that the granite was pre-fabricated and that he was charging me anyway simply because I already had the stone and wasn't buying the granite directly from them.  She said she would have him call me yesterday after work, which he did not.  Today she gave me his cell phone number and I tried calling 4 times and left two voicemails, hoping it was a misunderstanding.  He never acknowledged or responded to my attempts to contact him.  I would NEVER recommend this business to anybody considering his attempt to charge me for services he would not perform!

The process was excellent from beginning to end. They were right on the bid price and the timing was right on what they said. The installation was great and the slab was wonderful. And I would highly recommend them.

Excellent service. Timely, professional, done as-promised and on time. Excellent selection of granite. Loved being able to pick out the actual stone slabs. They also email a document showing the counter cutouts laid out on a photo of the slabs. Great showroom.

The experience was terrible. The owner, Dana, argued about everything we had to say and we had to fight for what we wanted done. He was very secretive about the progress of his work. We brought him samples of what we wanted and he tried to change the product and texture and colors. The tile we wanted he told us his tile man wouldn;t be happy and we needed to find something diffrent. He told us that if we moved out it would take 10 days. We did and it took 4 weeks. He called us one time after my son-in-law came to look at the progress and yelled at us for interfering with his work and he didn't appreciate being spied on. We paid nearly double what he said it would cost and he didn't even finish. There was suppose to be an upstairs closet redone and he did not do it. The kitchen still is not complete. We called numerous times to have him come back but he didnot answer nor call back. We have not heard from him. We receive a bill from one of his subcontractors because he did not pay them so they came after us. We hired an attorney to protect our house from other subcontractors putting leins against our house. The last time we saw him he requested the final payment and had us sign some papers and when we requested copies of those papers he refused. We never did get an itemized invoice of what we paid for.

I would do nothing here and would not even get a quote from them; I will never use them again. I turned in a claim on them because they would not help me on anything. I did not like anything about them. They were the highest price, did the crappiest work and they did not do anything about it.

After 21 years I finally got the kitchen, hearth room, powder and laundry room I envisioned...and more.  Jason was the first contractor that spent time asking questions about how I used the kitchen (areas I predominately used for preparation, etc.); colors, style, and what I hoped to achieve.  I also visited a kitchen remodel he was doing and was very impressed with the quality and design.  Jason worked with me on my budget and made several suggestions that allowed quality without exorbitant cost.  He was right on every count.
Doing it right and doing it well was the standard.  One area of the kitchen (ceiling and floor) was really out of "plum."  Jason spent extra time insuring that the cabinets and flooring would be level and squared (no easy task).  He also built a prototype of the island.  After the cabinets were installed, we were able to move the island around to find the best placement for it.  This was a terrific idea.
Jason also tore out the massive stone facade on the hearth room fireplace and replaced it with tile and wood that brought the kitchen and hearth room together.  My powder room is also gorgeous -- even my laundry room!
He was there every day either doing the work himself or making sure the electrical, plumbing, etc., was being done to his standards.  This was one of the most rewarding aspects of working with Jason, we could fine tune and make adjustments as work progressed.
Jason is a craftsman who adds those finishing touches that truly makes a room special.  Plus, the house was left clean every day.
Hire again?  Absolutely.  As soon as financially possible, we have a follow-on project.

When we first went to the showroom, Jelena helped us and we gave her the exact dimensions of our countertops.  She asked a question about the length of the counters in the corner where the kitchen makes an L.  We were very specific in our answer but apparently she still didn't get it right because the same question came up later and caused a delay in the process.  I'll explain more in a minute.  She sent us over to BCS Granite which is their supplier to pick out our slab of granite.  They have an awesome selection!  We picked out our piece after 2 visits to BCS.  Jelena sent us an estimate.  When we went to the Mr. Granite showroom to confirm that we wanted to go ahead with installation, Jelena wasn't in, and the man working that day said he couldn't help us.  He told us he usually works in fabrication but was being forced to work in the showroom that day.  He knew nothing, couldn't take our deposit, and told us we'd have to come back when Jelena was in.  After that, Jelena called us to say the original quote she gave us wouldn't work because of the L shape in the corner of our countertops.  Despite giving her exact dimensions and her drawing it out, she still added wrong the first time and realized we couldn't buy just 1 slab of granite for our countertops.  After a  lot of run around, she finally called BCS (her supplier) and found out they had the granite we wanted in a bigger slab so everything was fine afterall.  The estimate went up about $400 but we figured that was ok.  Then, the day they were scheduled to come out and make the templates for fabrication, the guy was supposed to be here at 3:30 but didn't show up until 4:30.  I had several phone calls in to Jelena during this time and the employee had lied to her and told her he was already at our house when he wasn't.  We ended up rescheduling that appointment since we had to leave and couldn't be home past 4:30 that day.  On the day of the install, I called Jelena to find out what time the install team would be at our house.  She said she couldn't give me a time because they were at the shop fabricating my countertops and she had no control over them therefore couldn't tell me what time, just that it would be, "today."  She offered to call me an hour before they left so I could make sure I was home.  Of course she didn't follow through with that promise.  After waiting all day, at 4:30 I called Armando the owner and he was very helpful and called me right back to tell me the install team was already on their way and would be at my house in 15 minutes.  The install took about 2 hours.  Much to my surprise, there were FOUR seams in my little 44sq. ft. kitchen!  They NEVER told me there would be awkward, very visible seams.  The seam on the L corner I can totally understand, but they finished one end of a stretch of countertop with a little 2 foot section!  Plus, it appears they cut one piece too shallow to fit all the way to the wall so they just cut a little 4 inch piece and seamed it together to make it fit.  I guess that's a big lesson for me to ask where the seams are and how many there will be.  BUT, I would've thought a "professional" company would've installed enough countertops to know to explain to the customer how exactly the countertops will be laid out and cut during fabrication.  It's incredibly disappointing to spend $3400 on something and then be unhappy with the final results.  It's not like granite is inexpensive and can just be re-cut.  I will NEVER use this company again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.  Oh, and they lost my sink during fabrication and called me wondering if they had picked it up from me.  Seriously, how unprofessional can you get?

The group arrived on time. Two people began with granite counter installation. When they finished a person began working on the ceramic floor. Ray arrived and installed bathroom faucets and utility sink and faucet. He encountered a problem with the plumbing on one of the sinks in the master bath so had to go get additional piping. I bought the tile for the jacuzzi and he hadn't seen it, so i had to go out and buy header tiles for this type of tile before he could start on it. While the person worked on the ceramic floor, Ray finished the plumbing and working on the tile on the jacuzzi.

They stayed past 8 PM and finished in one day and cleaned up pretty well. I did have to go afterwards and add grouting between some of the tiles on the jacuzzi. The tile i picked was small pieces that were supposed to fit right into each other with no grouting inbetween. The 12 X 12 pieces were just supposed to be glued next to each other with no grouting inbetween. Ray said the tile was not cut completely accurately and would not line up right. I think he should probably have added the grout to finish the project rather than me doing it afterwards. But it was not a big thing and i would use his company again.

The granite countertops look fabulous! The lip is an inch and a half wide, and the granite itself is 3/4 inch. So it looks very nice in the bathrooms. The ceramic floor and tile and new utility sink are just want i wanted also and look great.

I had estimates from some other granite companies that were more than what he provided - and their estimates were only to replace the countertops and did not include the rest of the work i had done. I was very satisfied with his pricing which allowed me to finish completely what I had wanted to do, at a cheaper price. Ray said that was because he did not have the overhead the larger companies have. I was very satisfied and would use his company again.

Everything was pretty good with the countertop installation except for two lines where the countertops meet. It didn't appear to be as seamless as we thought it should have been where the seams butt together. There is a bit of a gap.
